Cannabiscrusaders dank doodle bin

The problem with those is they get darker when you go over it again. So if im doing a big area, the overlap shows and it looks messy. Sharpies just cover better

Oh yeah theres definitely a learning curve there so you kind of need to start and finish sections in one go and strategically pick end points. The benefit of the layering is that it makes shading really easy and you get get some pretty cool looks. The color can get pretty clean and smooth once you got it down but marker quality is also a factor. I could do a test example doodle tomorrow maybe to show you.

I tried for a week. They are in the garbage now. Maybe i had a shitty brand? Who knows… sharpies cover up my fuck ups too, so thats a bonus.

Could very much be the brand. You also approach filling in the color more like a watercolor paint brush to avoid the layering. If sharpies work best for you, totally use them. I just have a lot of experience with these supplies and I think the speed/delicate grip as well as the smooth finish from the art markers is pretty unrivaled. You can also get much lighter colors. It becomes automatic and no think once you get the hang of it. I remember when I first bought these markers as a kid I was so frustrated that my results weren’t turning out like all my marker using inspirations.

Haha not sponsored. Nothing wrong with sharpies. They’re just meant for writing so the smaller tip makes the experience longer, but some people enjoy the slow meditative process of coloring, so its truly subjective

have you ever tried colored pencils for these? Colored pencils on toned paper can be a lot of fun and very relaxing.

The problem is, they are just doodles. I sometimes have to make 4 or 5 a day to keep up. So anything that takes more time is out the window. I also only doodle on blank thankyou cards, so there is not much canvass to color to begin with. Im not an artist, just a stoned doodling sugarman.

Appreciate the insight tho. One day I might explore a craft store. I used to bring my late mother every few weeks and walk around with her just holding crap she picked out. I think i might actually look around now. There was a place we went to in Chicago that had all this drawing stuff. 2 floors of art supplies. I brought my daughter in and bought her some stuff. Shes the artist, for sure. She gets it from my grandfather on my dads side. He used pastelles… i remember him drawing Pinnochio for me while i sat on his lap. That man was talented

oh well to clarify, I find the alcohol markers are actually a lot faster than sharpies, which is why I recommended them to begin with. You don’t have to consider yourself an artist if you don’t want to, but I very much consider you one. It’s an excellent hobby to have and you show a lot of skill with accurately observing and replicating your references. Art school really changed my perspective on talent forever, in fact I don’t really believe in talent. I don’t believe is it inherited either but spreads through inspiration. Like carpentry, it is a skill that is honed when someone is passionate enough to do it. You make art, you are an artist, I think most human beings are artists, it’s a great thing.

It definately spreads through inspuration, but ive seen many crappy inspired carpenters. Maybe they were in the midst of honing? Some of the skill is definately inherited. I can build just about anything, but my brother missed that gene. He cant put a little red wagon together and have it stay that way lol. It definately takes some practice.

Then on the other hand, i believe that the skills learned in our past lives are somehow stored with our souls. Maybe John Lennon was a bard back in the day. Maybe Michaelangelo fit the blocks of machu pichu in a past life… idk
I bet I was a sex slave to the Amazons
