Congrats man!
I’ve had the best of luck with the ‘reist’ settings …
A 10 day dry slope… youll find the setting posted a couple posts back.
Other people can reccomend some other stuff too! We’re still experimenting with newer stuff

Awwww man thats awesome!! I was really hoping for you!!

I would say to just use the default settings for your first run… to get a taste of what we have all tasted. Clean that bad boy out, you don’t know what the previous owner had/did in there – also be sure to check/clear the drain holes, and you should be good to go! Next run, you can tweak some settings and you will have a baseline to analyze and determine if you want to change the settings from those of your first default run
I agree default is always a great start to judge how you want things to go from there…
Sharkmousefarms method wasnt bad just cant overload it…
Oh and dont forget to blow out the heat sinks in the back…
Thank you guys. I’m driving home today actually late tonight… I’ll be trimming and loading tomorrow. Super excited for this dry !!! Cheers @herojuana.tom @Terpsnpurps @Shoesaregrand
This is truly what we want brother…
Supersecretjim and I took the reigns for a bit… but that was 2 people testing 1 setting… its better testing with more people…
Anything you all recommend or have seen proven to work in a superior way then im all ears… its literally WHAT THIS THREAD IS FOR…
So excited for you brother!! I remember how much i could NOT wait to see what it does!!
I don’t want to toot my own horn, but this run looks great … I’m assuming even a half ass Dry and this stuff would taste amazing lol. If it does half as good as job as I’m thinking, this stuff is going to be tasty !!! Cheers @Terpsnpurps !!!
Oh it will!!! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised
Update- I got the new Cannatrol for 750. Like new condition with shipping packaging and all boxes manuals ect. Barley touched but I cleaned anyway. I need the additional shelf’s so I ordered from Cannatrol not bad 5 shelf’s 75 bucks. But I need the shelf’s now haha. I went to Home Depot got some stamped aluminum. I cut the sheets by hand with aviation sheers. I bent the sheets by hand over wood. Looks good will work well til the real ones arrive. After looking at pics my shelf’s are upside down lol. No worries I’m not worried lol. Here is what I found searching internet… After much reading and my own DIY Dryer runs and experience I decided to run the dry setting closer to my DIY runs. This initially seemed outside the norm. Then I eventually found this… Apparently there is a slight variation in the cannatrol manuals. The older or first gen came with an additional page that dose not appear to be in the newer manuals. It’s labeled as page 16 in the old manuals. The newer manuals have a different page for 16. I thought the older page has great info they should not have removed. The new page 16 is a great quick reference but dose not have any of the old info. After looking at this older info my settings are more or less on the old page 16 along with encouragement to experiment from Cannatrol. Old and new page 16 for reference below along with the Cannatrol I picked up also the settings I chose to run… Cheers !!!

I will say this… cooler only slows things down…
I spoke to cannatrol when i 1st got it… mentioned i will go colder… they said you dont wanna do that lol…
I went on to do it anyway just recently… and they were 100% right… it was slow and subpar… i have since moved to 69°f and will never ever go below 68°f again … EVER
@Terpsnpurps You forgot I have been drying far lower than that in my DIY Dryer. Regardless of what Cannatrol said it’s clearly there in the directions !!! Cheers !!!
Edit- 65 degrees is a lot warmer than my DIY settings. I run those dryers at 60 degrees. Yes, it takes longer. But that is 100% the point.
@BTYGMO No this was a test i did myself… cooler took longer to achieve the same exact thing…
Maybe something is different between the diy dryer and cannatrol ? Idk… I just always warn about cooler … i went cooler and wetter… and it was not so good… took alot longer… could be from the wetter… but i still think cooler had to do w speed… and wetter had to do w bad flavors… just be careful my friend
@Terpsnpurps I appreciate that, but I generally run 2 to 3 weeks to Dry at 60 degrees. I’ll be cutting that down to 10 days. And then a four day cure. It is true that it takes longer, but that is the goal. The reason why we want to Dry longer is to break down the chlorophyll and sugars. We discussed this at great length in the DIY threads. It’s been our observation drying too quickly just locks in the chlorophyll. Slowing down the process, allowing the chlorophyll to degrade and the sugars to degrade get you a much better cleaner flavor profile. This does take longer, but that is what’s necessary. I do not expect to smoke this for at least 3 to 4 weeks. And a lot longer for its best flavor profile. Cheers !!!
Heres what i have found in my own tests… @BTYGMO
Chlorophyll gasses much faster at higher temps… thats whyni did a run in 5 days using sharkmouse farms method and it turned out very very nice… those were in the 72 f 74 f ending last day at 75f
In 5 days Chlorophyll was almost gone all u could taste at that point was the correct flavor profiles… it took about a week to smooth that out as it was slightly harsher than after that week of curing…
So again… and i am not trying to tell you what to do… i have much respect for you brother ![]()
But i have seen higher temps accomplish this faster… next test for me is to attempt the same thing at safer temps closer to 70f… u should try warmer just 1 single time … i will say that lol…
I will definitely keep it in mind for future dry runs… I’m confident that anything that gets below 68% RH in 4 or 5 day max removes all the mold danger from that point. And then we’re just slowly breaking everything down and removing the rest of that moisture ever slow slowly. That’s my goal here… You can see this in graphs on my DIY page. I have documented this and others aswell. To me the point of this is to control an even slower dry. That was the whole point in the DIY units to begin with. To slow down the drying process. I think there’s two ways to go with these units. One being the fastest way to a proper moisture level. Or a slow long way to a proper moisture level. Cheers !!!
I have done the long long cures and extended dries… if you look here in the earlier stuff its there somewhere lmao . I did a 10 day dry i think? With a 90 day cure… it was very nice as well…
I just figured id mention… i didnt really see much of a difference. Longer vs the warmer faster etc
No worries @Terpsnpurps I like to experiment and this unit will be no different. Will start close to my findings and experiment out from there. When I’m not slowing down I harvest every 30 days so room to experiment most definitely… Rolling one for journey it took to get this run in the cannatrol it was a task to say the least lol Cheers @Terpsnpurps !!!
I agree… i really need to get over to your thread check your findings in depth… idk how i became so busy… or maybe im just getting old and arent getting as much done as fast… but i do sure make time go fast bro ![]()
I hope it’s the weed haha Cheers my Friend !!!
