Car Repair the stoner way LOL Ask a question maybe we can help each other

Went yesterday to try and fire up the new work truck, have power, lights updated buss fuse box. Have to grab a starter solenoid, luckily I have NPD right up the road. Brakes ar gone which would be my second job after a rebuild on the numbers matching 250 straight six. Workhorse motors, buddy had a 64’ “bisQueen” that we thrashed throughout highschool.

Plans for now are 70-72 gm drilled and slotted double res power brakes on front updated drums on back for now. Clean it up with patina and clear coat. Wheels from the Pontiac and it will get 17” rally reproductions to squeeze as much tire in with correct offset. Truck has 3:55 12 bolt Posi. Pinstripe and old school door lettering so I can write it off as advertising/shop truck until the grandson earns it. He will have to help with build and maintenance as my daughter did with the Pontiac. Eventually it will probably get my spare 70 virgin Pontiac 400 built to stock 385/410 specs as the GMC’s used to use Poncho Motors in their trucks for the massive torque they make. …:metal::sunglasses:

Also found out it’s a 3/4 ton

My daily driver dodge w/ cummins turbo diesel , excuse the welds my argon was contaminated. Compound turbos with huge injectors.
I also have a forged turbocharged sbc 383 stroker heads cam intake.
Ever drove a 10 sec 1/4 mile diesel truck that weighed 8000 lbs? Or towed 20,000 lbs with 2000 ft lbs tq , Its different.

Want to talk about violent . Rolling burn outsome @ 60mph on the highway. I have a video some where . I do love turbos . I even own a 2.0 awd Lincoln turbo eco boost stock… So far.

Those turbos would look good under the hood of it…for now it’s getting Power disc brakes, tabular 4 link rear suspension and drop spindles. Get the sttraight six running. Then she will get a little jewelry with wheels and tires and an old school pinstripe and door lettering for the business. (Advertising write off.) neighbor has exact same truck I’ve been trying to get off him for 10 years. Now he wants mine…:joy::rofl::joy::rofl::joy::metal::sunglasses:

Eventually it will get a full resto-mod treatment, is grandsons first truck so I got ten tears to pick away at it until I get to teach him to drive. Then he will get it finished. For now it’s the rat rod “Green Beans” farm truck.

Have a whole barn full of old Pontiac parts that could be persuaded to fit.
