Heres my other ride . 383 scb all forged dart heads single plane intake with 4150 throttle body comp cams 88mm turbo charger I built evet part of that truck from underneath the body with new parts. Including the engine, transmission and paint. Poor mail guy delivered every part too.

Sure if youre into refinancing your house for 1000hp. Theres a reason push rod ls ( single cam) motors a so desirable and buildable. Why not a bugatti veyron engine? Do they even sell forged parts for that ford engine?
Ls make great power for the money (im still a sbc guy myself) but we all could think of a better new more expensive engine.
I seen that engine as fords febrile attempt to try to regain some excitement , market share over their v8s since no one can swap their dohc engines in older vehicles easily . But there isnt anything after market for it . Ill get a diesel I have , before I waste gas using truck engine like that.

Well I agree on the refinancing part. But even new LS motors will cost your first born. The coyote 5.0 pretty much drops into everything. And the new godzilla engine is a pushrod motor⦠that has been released to hot rodders before the production line⦠and thereās already turbo systems being built for multiple applications.
Plus if you look at an LS motor its pretty much built on a Ford platform lol

Junkyard Ls motors make a reliable 1100+ hp. all day for years. Top lsx bottom end max hp dyno session is 1600hp . Coyotes breaks at 700ish. That stock. You cant fild a 10th the stuff for the coyotoe as you can the lsx.
My all forged stroked 383 . I built cost 6,000$ that was every nut bolt crank rod bearing cam intake gasket eco injectors turbo , everything. All forged . Made 1289 hp and 900 ish ft llbs tq 6 years ago. Still alive driven on the weekends. Thats why people love chevy . The morer companies that make parts , parts become cheaper fighting for their stance in the market.
Coyotes dont fit in anything with out server modifications that why the lsx won the war between the two.
All those swaps is why so many parts where made making the available for everything. Even the coyotes metal is poor they fall apart at moderate hp levels.
Anything could be made to have a turbo. Guys turbo lawn mower. Speed cost , just to say you have a certain engine is silly . Dollar for dollar you cant beat it. There have been so many shoot outs between the two showing that exact scene.
Go into the aftermarket so many people love it you can literally build any combo at a fraction of the cost , this why people love the lsx .
Coyote air flow design is great thats it but because of its dohc there arent heads for it. LSx has 10x the parts at a fraction of the cost. The Lsx isnt .
I have no allegiance to one company I own cars and truck s from all three big three 2 dodge dies , a jeep , gmc yukon , mkc with eco boost and fusion. Ford lost touch with its ( not stock muscle) performance v8 in 1997.
The coyote is a better design but so are so many other engines that are financially practical.
The godzilla has a few intakes thats it its a truck engine, Lsx will reign supreme like the sbc did from 1955.

Man, im a chevy guy as well. But, to say you built a 383 cubic inch engine with 1200 horsepower is a bold claim. And for 6000 dollars is a laughable statement. Ls motors have been around for 20 years now. Thats where the aftermarket support comes in. Dont get me wrong. I would definitely build a ls before a coyote motor. But, the coyote motor is really cool and chevy is following their foortsteps. The new zo6 is gonna have a flat planed crank overhead cam engine when it comes out in 2022 according to insider reports. Who doesnt want a 9000 rpm engine pumping out over 600 horses.

Chevy may be taking ques from the coyote but I wouldnāt try to swap a new chevy into anything or build it. Im also not talking about stock vs stock. If im willing to swap a engine im going to modify it too.

I would say car makers are now doing what diesel engines have been for 30 years direct injection turbos and forged engines is the future.
