Maui and Leo hanging while I smoke.
That kitten is nice looking cuz, but seems to be unusually long legs there! lol
He is long and tall, no doubt! And too damn smart for my own good!
They just look like fur balls to me.
Look at the murder mittens!! Lots of sweet fur babies!
Oh they look so sweetâŚ
But the black ones can be real fuckin assholes.
Last night they both got in a fight an there was blood drawn.
I had to take out the squirt bottle to break up the fight.
They are terrified of the squirt bottle.
Goober is FHV positive and has had health issues and reoccurring bad infections in one eye all her life⌠She is currently recovering from surgery to remove that eye, as it had gotten to where it no longer responds to treatment, and was making her be in pain 24/7âŚ
THIS is how she USUALLY is thoâŚ
Turned my back for ONE MINUTE while unloading groceriesâŚ
Sorry about her health issues. She looks like a sweet kitty.
Thanks-- she is, and sheâs doing much betterâŚin fact- now that the eye is gone, sheâs getting happy and energetic again! Havenât seen her like this in months!! Once she can stop being kenneled at night and in âthe cone of shameâ sheâll be better than ever!
Thats great news. Cats in kennels isnt good. But she will be free soon.
Luckily, sheâs only in the kennel when e canât be with herâŚshe has to be watched at all times so she doesnât try to wash it or rub against stuff⌠sheâll be free in a couple days!!
Before I had Leoâs arm taken off, he was hurting. All he wanted was me to hold him. âFix me dadâ. 3 legs now and heâs the happiest cat I have ever had by a long shot. So playful!
Often, people will chide us for making decisions to ââmaimââ our petsâŚthey do not understand that we only do what is medically necessary for them to have real quality of life, and get rid of their pain!
What- do they think we just say one day ââhey- I think Iâll have the Vet remove my catâs leg/eye/tail they donât really need itâŚ!!?ââ
Well since my longtime kitty passed in the fall weâve gained 2.
This kitten is Angel. She was found under my momâs shed in November and trapped as the temp was down in the teens and brought inside. My brother took care of her until she made the 300 mile journey to us in January.
Pixie is 6-7 and was rehomed to a friend for the last 4-5 years. Both homes had multiple cats and many other animals and unfortunately she didnât get along with specific cats at both locations. Sheâs doing GREAT with our kitten.
My daughter got evicted with 3 small kids and 2 cats. Tough to sell that to a new landlord so we got the cats. Had just as many choose us, as we chose them.
I had to do a deep dig in our walk in closet and, of course, Genki had to put on his official inspectorâs hat on.
For those of you with indoor cats, that bag in the lower right corner is Feline Pine, the stuff we use for cat litter. Doesnât need changing until itâs time to empty the box, smells like pine (because thatâs exactly what it is!), and I think (although I never actually checked) it is no more expensive than decent quality clumping litter. Might be less expensive. I buy it in 40 pound bags.
Yeah, thatâs the music room.
An update on Goobers surgeryâŚ
All went great!
She got her stiches out, and although it does look kinda âoddâ she looks SO MUCH BETTER than having a constantly infected, swollen, red eyeâŚshe was so miserable, and none of the treatments helped more than a few weeks⌠she is SO MUCH happier now!
All she does is purr, chirp, try to get snuggles, and PLAY!!-- something she hasnât really done in about a year!
Damn cuz, I hate the kitten lost an eye, but sounds like it worked for her⌠and you! Pretty girl btw.
Thanks!
We found her, half dead from pneumonia and freezing in the middle of the road when she was a baby⌠She had FHV so has had health issues all her life- but it never slowed her downâŚuntil the eye thing started. She;s almost 11 now.
