Censord here. This is my first real post. I searched all over the net for a grow log for Doc D’s Zang. I found some mention of it but nothIng super informative. I thought i would share my grow.
I’ll do a quick break down of my set up. 4x2 tent. 4 cheap noname led amazon lights(74w a piece dimmable). 6 inch knock off A/C Infinity exhaust fan ( Very loud). 2- 6inch,open box, ebay score, air circulation fans. A set of 3 well used, 2nd hand, Octopots with all the caps missing. Finally, 3 modified fabric grow bags( 2- 7 gallon, 1-10 gallon)to fit the Hydro Wicks.
I promise to post pictures soon. Just getting things sorted!
My soil is Promix. Good old Red bag,buy at Walmart Promix. Only thing added to it is 30% Perlite and Mykos when up potting.
My Nutes are Jacks 321. Calcium Nitrate. Magnesium Phosphate.Potassium Silicate. Mono Potassium Phosphate for when in flower.
The water I use is 70% R.O. and 30% well water. Our well water has enough Calcium and Magnesium that there is no need for Calmag. I use the R.O because the well water is 400-1200 ppm solids depending on the water table. Ph is downed with diluted battery acid.
You got me with diluted battery acid for ph down haha
Its cheap, has Sulfur, and creeps the least of anything else I’ve used.
Sounds great over there brother, looking forward to some pics!
Ayy! I use that too, there is an old tutorial thread here by @monkeyman that gives the specifics. Works great for me as well!
The genetics are from Doc D seeds by way of Colorado Sativas. Guess that would make them f2s. I’m a bread baker not a geneticist, so thats about as far as i know.Zang is suppose to be Vietnam Black (164 Kiona Cut) x A5 Haze/Thai BX.
2 of the 5 were boys. I didn’t want to breed. Just a bud run. These are the 3 girls left standing. My sister bought these for me for my birthday, so she got to name them.
Lola
Nancy
And Zoey
As you can see, all 3 girls look completely different.
Anhydrous citric acid crystals can be your friend.

Ha ha! I have returned! Guess I posted too much for my first day. Anyways.
Lola always looked unhappy indoors in the tent. Moping around like an emo teenager. I treat all my girls the same.Same feed, light, soil, ect.
So I chucked her outside into the high desert. I’ll see how she likes over 100° and 10% humidity. I plopped her in an Octopot with a 10 gallon fabric bag. The Octopot was buried a foot in the ground to keep the water reservoir cooler.
Zoey and Nancy were happily kicking it in the A/C. Not causing any problems at all.
So the way I train is grow 6 nodes , Top, clip the 2 bottom nodes. Veg for 2 more weeks and top the side branches. Flip at 6 weeks.
After 20 some odd days of flower I lolly pop and clip the branches that arnt going to reach with in a foot or so of the canopy.
Before
After
Sorry about the dark picture. You get the idea.
At 40ish days I take another hard look at them. I think i might have plucked a couple fan leaves but didnt do too much.
Oh gawd, could you please stop stretching?!
Lola is getting in on it too. The cage she is in is 6 foot tall
Here are the Indoor girls around 10 weeks.Pint glass for reference. Nancy threw 3 or 4 nanners right on the top buds.No pictures of them. Picked them off and they didn’t return.
Zoey
Nancy
You likely noticed the burnt tips on the girls in the above pictures. The Potassium Silicate and Mono Potassium Phosphate at the same time was too much for the ladies. Should have cut the Potassium Silicate going into flower. Oops.
