So far using the same nutrient mix and ph for both Coco and promix is doing ok.
I say go for it.
Me. Worried about oversaturation compared to coco, I’m using the Promix HP and then added more perlite. Lol

Awsome.
Thanks
@GramTorino
I think Im going to try Promix hp in my Octopots too. Its a lot cheaper than coco.
I go BX. I could claim its because of the Mycorrhizae and seen better results than other promix, but really, its just what my southern states has. Def cut with perlite about 20-30%.
I think the HP has 30% perlite already. I will probably still add a bit more though.
There would have to be such a thing as “Taylor Ham” first.
Just asking, Perlite and Vermiculite had become a no no for the environment in here in waybck, is there any concern today about there use? Has it become a non issue with patients and users?
I don’t use vermiculite and all I can tell you is perlite isn’t an issue for me. I cant speak for anyone else.
Cool thanks, I see it in everything. Just an ol hippie wonderin. Thanks Man
There are complaints about high amounts of energy used to cook/process the perlite. Also that since it’s from volcanic it is not an endless supply. I still use it.
Morning folks!! Also use perlite… heard and read about rice hulls as a more sustainable alternative, but, I’m still trying to learn!! After experience, I might try new waters, such as taking seaweed directly from the sea and finding a way to use in my soil!
lol actually @DougDawson I think perlite IS and endless supply…since the inner earth is nothing BUT Boiling lava that still continues spewing forth on the surface almost constantly, somewhere!
Now the energy used to process it into what we use is a whole different story!
If it’s ‘clean’ enegry, i say use it.
Damn lol can’t correct typos in ‘slow mode’…

I would have to disagree. It’s mined in some areas and while the earth has the potential to keep pumping out volcanic glass I don’t see it keeping up to the point of calling it an endless supply. That said I use and will continue too. Not a fan of peat as that has a much worse impact on our environment. That’s also a reason I use coco, it’s a byproduct so we are using what used to be wasted and turning trash into a great grow medium.
Now peat is a whole different ballgame and I agree cuz, that is not an endless supply… I just use regular dirt that isn’t hurt adding organic nutrients. In the end, even when put back into the natural environment, there’s no harm. That’s where it came from, and where it’ll return.
It actually makes a nice little tent fan and heater. It puts out some heat. @Donnie I seen a bunch of those clip fans on sale. Under $10 for hot cheaper than those $40 fans
. I can take care of that red lightHey @Donnie
What can you tell me about the kalga for my records??
Thanks.
@MoBilly here is where the seeds come from, you will get all the info here
Thanks. I appreciate that.
