I knew someone was drinking Molson. I have not seen it in my area in a few years unfortunately.
Anyone ever heard of a $3,500,000 bar tab? Now thatās a big tab! Thatās alot of natural lightsā¦
For me cheap beer was always 40ās of cobra or when I found it steel reserveā¦but if it was cans/tall boys it was always pbr and Miller high life. I used to joke that the high life girl was my dream girl haha.
I donāt think any number of high Life pics are enough to justify just how much itās the go to cheap beer
Cheap beer but itās still a good beer. I started drinking it years ago while going through a divorce. That $2200 child support bill was hard on old Beans!!!
Yeah, I think the very first beer I tasted as a kid was Country Club malt liquor. My best friendās dad was a truck driver and when he came home he would sit in the lazy boy and put a case of beer next to his chair.
First time I tried it I couldnāt imagine why people liked it. It didnāt take me long after that, ha. My dad drank Schlitz beer. I grew up to like that when I was still young, along with Miller.
Iāve been hung up on IPAās since the mid 80ās, but they arenāt cheap. I used to homebrew a lot, too. But, itās not cheap either. I just canāt drink cheap beer anymore.
Yeah I drank Schlitz in high school, for some reason no one ever asked for an ID when I bought a case of Schlitz. haha. I remember it being pretty good too.
I rarely drink these days, so when I do indulge I tend to get something pretty nice. I enjoy Anchor Brewery from SF, and my favorite local brewery where I live is called Gigantic.
What I really gravitate towards now is a nice irish red ale or brown ale, and unique old recipes from the gold rush era.
I really enjoy the Steam beer from Anchor, which has been brewed with the same recipe since 1896 in copper kettles on the roof of the brewery. It ferments with wild yeast, so itās always slightly different, and always tasty.
edit- hereās my old schlitz beer mug, now retired to pencil holder duty.
Hey I work at founders. Thanks for helping me get paid! Cheers
Saw this at the liquor store around Xmas. Wanted to get it but it was probably $100+
Sorry dont have pictures of cheap beer.
Would make a cool decoration but with social distancing and small crowds how does one man consume so much high test beer?
Ooooo yeah! Thatās a Belgium, and in a mini keg, too. Those are nice. You can pour a beer and close the tap so it will last. I reused one of those to condition a beer I made in it and it came out like silk, like good cask ale.
Awesome! Thatās cool, man. I been buying those 15 packs of Centennial IPA for at least six months or a year. Itās the best deal on the shelves. Colorado has a lot of local beers but only Oskar Blues is a little cheaper than others and the Founders has been continually restocking the 15 pack for $16.99. Regular 12 pack of Craft beer would be $20 up.
Plus, I love Centennial hops. Iām impressed that the beer is always fresh, too. I had a really good batch a couple of buys back. It the hops were super loud. peace ![]()
You guys picked out all of my favorites. ![]()
Iāve recently started buying from a brewery here called Prost quite a bit as well. They have some really great German styles.
Also Tivoli started brewing again. I was reading some history about them. Apparently they were one of the really old breweries, founded in the 1860s sometime.
They have a Brut IPA that is one of my favorites. I tend to gravitate toward simple, hoppy beers. ![]()
If you ever come to grand rapids Iāll hook it up
prost is the german word for ācheersā, good name for a brewery
Centennial is flowing today @GMan
Not once, ever, have I been drinking a beer and thought you know what would make this better?
Not just clam juiceā¦noā¦tomato juice, too.
Lime and saltā¦yes.
Bloody Maryās are also foul. Tastes like cold fishy booze soup.
SW Michigan what upā¦we really do have the best breweries.
