Cheap, Easy, and Available: Privacy Fencing for Outdoor

Howdy OGs! Small time home hobbyist here, biggest hurdle with growing is the consistent bargaining with the wife. I’d like to run a couple males outside this year, mostly for pollen collection to do a little light seedmaking. I’ve got some buddies running outdoors grows that come to me for plants - I run small tents inside and love poppin seeds/making selections and have done a couple seed runs inside. They’ve got some great girls thriving and I don’t want to seed the whole run, just capture bagguette bags of pollent at my place and hit a branch or two at theirs.

Can keep the plants pruned pretty short, and won’t have the dank stank of flower, big blocker for wife is visibility - even in the backyard. Any tips or ideas for spending a few bucks at home depot at making a little private area for a few studs? Thanks much.

Deerbusters has 6’ high x 100’ long 1’square wire mesh fencing in their overstock/scratchdent section. If that’s still valid it was $115/roll free shipping. Normally those are closer to $300 from memory. Ask the operator for the 5% off coupon code. Helps on sales tax.

Didn’t read your post slowly enough. Maybe not as much visible privacy with the mesh. But you could grow climbing plants up it.

You run the chance of ruining anybodys outdoor grow if you let your males go…

I have attached this stuff to chain link fence. Don’t stretch it too much because it will not be private when stretched. Lasts for several years.

The males outdoors will send pollen to neighbors’ yards. “Good fences make good neighbors.” There aren’t any good fences for pollen.

Definitely not for pollen lol

I had to spend almost 16000$ for my fence. The hurricane messed up a bunch of stuff… I wanted to go with a cheaper alternative. It didn’t work out that way… since I was having to put up a new fence I had to get some trees cut down because they were in the way. The trees mostly were in the other neighbors yards…

I thought that’s what it looked like off of the Camaro or something like that.

There used to be trees back there that would drop a lot of branches. Why I opted for chain link instead of wood. Now the neighbor cut them down but the fence is going on 12 years

The chain fence was cheaper, but it was only 4 foot tall. We did get over 6 foot with the wood fence. I like your little spot. It looks cool.

Perennials are better, especially anything on the evergreen side but-

Moonflowers kick ass. They grow fast and the smell is amazing. It’s also cool to watch them open up just as the sun is setting. It happens before your eyes. Magic.

I had looked at something like that. I always thought it would be cool to have a bamboo fence. To let the bamboo grow a certain way to where you can make a fence out of it.
I cannot think of the tree in Africa that they use to make their fence fences out of. They have a problem with wood because of the termites.

Bamboo can be used for a screen. There are two types; clumping and running. Running bamboos can be problematic to control.

Bamboo is one of those devil plants that will take over everything for real if you dont get the right type

Checkout the Bamboo forest in Atlanta, thats one example, albeit a very large scale
