Which light did you not like? I was looking at some maxisun lights. Plants look great!
We’ll - it’s not that I don’t like it - per se-
It’s on for $239 CAD now and a $25 coupon !
Dammit u got me looking at lights now lol
I love the light. I’m on my third flower cycle / harvest so I really can’t be comparing lights just yet
I think I’ prefer the reflector hoods
The maxxsisun PB2000 has all the bells and whistles of a quality light. I would buy maxxisun again , particularly the mf1500/1000 design and run two in a tent side by side .
The pb2000 seems like the right size for a 2x4 tent , I should let it do it’s thing by itself to get true results. I don’t think I should need to run two lights in a tent though, I would much rather run one kickass light then run two x2 electricity
Super nice Design on it.
I haven’t fully flower with it Alone I guess… I got it for around $250 which I I shouldn’t complain about as it’s a Good price.
My first harvest was just the one maxxisun (reflctor hood) MF1500 and two blurples and I had some big dense buds -second one was smaller buds and not dense - this could all be part of genetics though or medium / grower error.
This 150 watt one is the older model and $10 cheaper than the New 100 Watt on.
I would run two of these for 300watts vs the pb2000 If I had my time back, I feel like they are stronger. I guess the pb2000 is 200wAtts?
Actually there is a (reflector Hood) MF2000 for 259 with $25 coupon at 230 watts and has the pan instead of heat sink, Id run that
Riggyt now I’m running 350 watts…supposedly

@CADMAN
I believe you mentioned a while back that I could measure the strength of my lights? The PAR? (LUX EDIT)
I measured " LUX " with an app on my phone. It’s not close to perfect, but it’s better then guessing.
Quick Guide - Lux Levels for Optimal Cannabis Growth
Vegetative max 70,000 lux med 40,000 lux min 15,000 lux
Flowering max 85,000 lux med 60,000 lux min 35,000 lux
15,000 lux - sparse or “stretchy” growth - plant isn’t getting enough light
15,000 - 50,000 lux - good amount of light for healthy vegetative growth
45,000 - 65,000 lux - optimal amount of light for cannabis plants in the flowering (budding) stage
70,000 - 85,000 lux - a lot of light, some strains do okay at this light level, but some plants lose their top leaves early under this light intensity, especially plants that are not resistant to heat/light (like many indicas)
> 85,000 lux - at this light intensity, you’ve hit the plant’s “saturation point” which means your plant can’t use all the light (be careful of light bleaching!)
Thanks for sharing that again .
I just downloaded a lux light meter. Will try it out tomorrow in both my tents. And my lights.
I just tested the bulb in on night stand . Got up to 11,000+ lol120V
Going to be fun to play with tomorrow
That’s exactly the app I use.
How close do you put your lux to get the reading???
Where the plants are???
Infront of the light ??
LOL these blurples get less than my night stand light bulb…max on the small blurple was like 9000 right up against it. Down 2 ft was like 2000
The bigger one was just as bad.
I am going to have to lower these lights…or buy new veg lights !! I knew something was off lol
@Calix Place your phone at the same height as the top of your plants. Read from there. The center will always get higher number then the sides. Shoot for happy medium between center and sides numbers in your preferred range
My lights are hitting a max of 19200 at top of plants . . .I think that’s the max the app puts out.
I moved it around a bit and the numbers fluctuate.
But botht lights - right infront of light and down 16" 19200 is my max.
YAY I get to order new lights LOL
Found this
LED is a bit different for measurements
Note: There are expensive light meters which are more accurate for comparing light levels between different types of grow lights, but the lux meter we recommend on this page is a good starting point. Honestly, we haven’t had the need to get a more advanced model. Just remember that if your grow light produces a lot of Infrared or especially UV light (like LEC grow lights and some LEDs), your plants will receive more light than what is being measured on a lux meter.
Frequent updates…apologies for over loading o.g.
Had to do some gardening / trimming before next batch of nutrients go in!
The girls are starting to smell now . Some rotten fruit smell.
White hairs and a couple orange !
Seedlings are taking theyre time … I brought the lights closer and monitoring the soil to not let it dry out
I know i know I know … if it ain’t broken don’t fix it…
Well I dropped my lights LOL… I figure they are pretty short as is…a half foot (4” probably) closer can’t hurt…
Also…
@ReikoX heheh sorry for tagging lol, If i could ask ur opinion Wether my seedlings Are behind on they’re growth for 10-14 days??
I feel like my seedlings aren’t growing a the pace they should be…they are going on 10-14 (most 10 some 12 1 14 days’)days now.
…24-0…maybe they would do better with some dark. I recall my first grow from seed they were pushing new growth every day I checked…
.
Why are My seedlings stunted ?
Am I being impatient ?
This is My second time from seeds , my first batch were in the summer , maybe I had a better light on them?? Better soil mix??
Bah hum bug lol 10-14 Days on some. Ive been looking fall solo cup challenges and I’m looking pretty behind .
Fingers crossed I can pull them off .
Cooler temps seedling like it tropical to flourish I have similar issues in the winter.
Bought a 3x3 tent with t 5 lighting really improves survival rates .
I had them on heat Mat then removed it…
I think a better quality light might help…I know everyone says you can use any light for veg…but I’ve had issues with blurples from day one…
I also don’t want to.draw 200w In a seedling tent…
its on my flowering buds now. Might be time to.order a bigger light…fuck it!!! What else are credit cards for!! Lol
So you think cooler temps are effecting it?
Is it possible the soil mix is bunk and maybe not quality enough ? My firstbatch had worm castings + all purpose ferts. . …
Was really hoping for some big baby seedlings with lots.of.leafs !
Patience.
Heat mats can cause issues unless there adjustable by being too warm , ambient temp and humidity important ya burple veg lighting t 5 2 bulb light won’t suck much juice and provide some heat over led.
Checking out this light ! 349 + -$50 coupon .
300w draw.
Looks like a nice light M/h. Long light 39" long and 10" wide
A few other spyderfarms our there I’m looking. At
.really would like to find a good quality 300w light for my 2*4 tent .
Hola Gang
Heat mat is nice but no dome
it can become too hot
Looks like your medium is
too wet, That the most impostant
thing is a sterile medium.
Seeds are very fragile and have
no defence indoor so medium
have to be very clean I recomand
coco or promix type.
No strong light .
I soak my seeds 12 hr or so
in peroxid and water Then
coco is press to remove most
water I used commercial mushroom
black container pock some hole in it
and put it in a second one whitout hole.
seeds no more then twice their thickness
in the ground. if you used a mat no dome
please it will be too hot,
Yes Be Patient
Bare
I like the commerical mushroom container idea !
I took the heatmatt Off after all the seeds sprouted.
I also kept the tray above the Matt not directly on top.and I cycled the on/off
I think my soil is the issue. Too compact and too wet + not mixed well enough . I will let it dry out
Thank you for suggestions
