Chez Calix - Journey of a Junior grower

Oooooo

Sweeeet , thanks lol

We will see what shakes out in the coming days.

Sorry that’s the best i could do in photos.

I figured those little pointy things that are crossing over might help

I’ll keep an eye on my feminized one and watch it develop. It already looks majorly different than the rest but that could be genetics .

@JoeCrowe
Is this what we are looking at ? Or more in closer to the join.

I’ll do some online gender identification research tonight lol

Just behind those little things that are crossed. Those are bracts, but right between the bract and the stem of the side shoot, there’s a tiny green thing sticking out. Just a sec, I’ll high light it.

Right there in orange. That tiny flap.

I’ll keep a closer eye on them.

Tomorrow I’ll do a thorough inspection .

I deleted all these snaps from earlier.

TSL2000

MARCH 03 FLIP DAY !!!

TIME TO START SOME NEW SEEDLINGS AND CLONES SOON. Might even throw my two females into the flower tent now and get them 2 weeks ahead so get timing right.
It will clear up space on the veg tent . For more breathing room and to start more regs…

Does the ones with the growth behind the then bract indicate potential female??

I just had a look and the only ones I saw that on we’re 2-4 . Maybe I uploaded the wrong order of pics.

But those two are nut butters . That would make aog 3/3 male I think and nut butters 2/2 (1 didnt germ)

HEre is 2 and 3
Bnb # 2 and #3

They do look like males. With a female it’s usually a pointed flap there. I really get up in their business with a magnifying glass

Okay !!! SO the things behind the bracts we are looking at are indicators of MALES ?

LOL

I had it back wards then so - 3 out of these 5 are female.

Ooooo baby

Man I might keep one of these nut butters and open pollenate . I dont know any thing about the genetics. But they are wicked plants love the leafs

If they identification of those is right and they are both males .I can keep one and collect pollen lol…ehhh! Nahhh

A pointed flap…

I have some research to do. I didn’t get a chance last night .

Lol so some of them have nothing there yet + that just means sex isn’t showing.
But there are identifiers that will show there indicating male or female. And maybe herm

After a few runs, you’ll definitely be recognizing the males and females at a glance before bloom starts.

Getting second Tent ready for flowering . Waiting on the Mars Hydro tsl2000

I am moving these two females into the tent and a Feminized plant . And a reg in a small container into this tent to free up space.

I will be running the lights 24-0 in here… To maintain the heat.

I think they’d be okay with lights out i would just need another timer.

Will they be okay going from 20-4 to 24-0 until I decide to flip them ?
@Foreigner any suggestions?

Also waiting for the others to show definite sex signs…
EDIT
I actually have the timers…I’ll keep them on 20-4 but I am going to shuffle there 20-4 to 13:00-17:00 darkness as the others tent is 800-100 darkness

Or should I just keep both onnthe same time lol…
make things simpler. .i was thinking the heat from Each running will help each other.

I always do 16/8 but 24/0 is fine I imagine.

But if you have the timers I would use them.

How cold does it get? Unless it’s crazy cold I wouldn’t worry about it.

Basement foundation furnace room middle.of winter Atlantic Canada.
It gets to about 14. But iv been able to keep it to 15

I just set them both up on timers 20-4

. . .
Wondering if I should even out the tent s with the plants…???

Not as much coverage… Dont know high temps I can maintain yet i secobnd tent they are old enough now though to be okay in 18-19 .

Think I should even them up to allow better air flow?

14 is pretty low. If you can fit them all in a tent you can maintain at 19 that would be a better solution I think.

Doesn’t matter is they’re a little crammed together.

14 would be the absolute lowest for lights out… it’s usually 15.

I thought 15 was fine at lights out…

But when flowering 12 hours it will be a struggle but I will feed the exhausts from veg into flower over night

Lol I am just running extra wattage right now lol I could keep them all in one tent lol… I

I was thinking about flipping those two females.

I just wanted to make sure I could maintain 20-23 with the other lights until my new one came

And hopefully.i can identify males soon .

I’ll flip them In a couple days
