I ordered perlite online, but i received chunky perlite, its like half inch chunks
…will this work with organic soil??
Works even better
Less dust and doesnt break down as quick and you can probably use less than you would with fine
Cool,good to know,thank you
It’s indeed better, more air for the roots🙂
I was worried…now im happy!thanx guys
Normally people get mad they bought a big bag of perlite and it isn’t coarse enough. Extra course is great.
If I use perlite I prefer that more course chunky stuff, great for organic soil mixes. I’m currently using chunky pumice, doesn’t move around as much as perlite, works great in my living soil totes.
No I prefer dusty small granules that evaporate after one watering…jk bigger is better like puffy popcorn kernels. Keep in mind when moisture is added they will break down over time so little small pieces tend to dissipate
Just mixed some coco and perlite and got jealous of that chunky perlite of yours lol. What brand was it?
Its called growit!
I know their cocoa blocks are really highly rated for their cleanliness
thats class 1 perlite lol
Get more if possible while it’s around🙂
I got the bulk bag,and shipoing was only 14 bucks, the cheapest shipping by far!
I cant get bulk perlite locally
It’s the business bro
and if you really want to deep dive into it for optimum results consider various sizes I really like the “course” and mix it in at ruffly 20% and the finer stuff at 10% (which is already in most "potting mix/soil) and then you could add another 10-15% of that"chunky " stuff you got , fire
it’s the different aggregate sizes allows all kinds of cool shit to happen in the rhizome my friend ![]()
Good buy, chunky is the best.
Exactly what i do, mix finer with soil then toss in some chunky.
I like to put a bit of chunky in pots before putting soil.
@ThcTattedGenetics I also like to mix it in my compost sometimes before I add it to the garden
helps it “breath”
It’s good stuff. It doesn’t tend to float to the top after awhile like the small stuff does.
Somethin’ I’ve done with powdered mycos/bennies/Recharge/powdered humic/etc. that works very well (IMO) is to wet the perlite and then sprinkle/disburse that shat on it. It goes into all of the nooks and crannies.
Boom. ![]()
