Clones in ez cloner not looking good.

6.0 pH
71 F
225 ppms clonex

Water changed every other day. Not sure what is going on here.

Whats the light source, intensity?
Water temps?
Sometimes plain old tap water works best. Once roots do show, then a nutrient is needed. 5.8 is ideal

Have you checked the pH of the spent water? Mine will rise quite a bit but you’re changing every other day which seems fine.

Ph looks off and your humidity looks low. 5.5 - 6. I keep it around 5.5. When I do mine I make sure the ph is checked every day and maybe twice a day.

From the bleached tops and the twisting leaves, I’m guessing that your light intensity may be too high. In my experience, the amount of light that a seedling can handle is too much for a rooting clone. They need a very small amount of light, a single low wattage bulb is fine.

It doesn’t take much.

Can someone help me to improve.

My problem is that my clones grow so fast and at the time they have roots the clones are very unhealty.

Atm i am just using tap water ph 7.4 ec 0.4

Temp water 23.5 Celsius

I have tried using simple a and b nutriënts ph 6.4 ec total 1.1/1.2 less rooting ratio and needed almost 14 days.

What am i doing wrong?

Your clones are too big. They need to be small to be able to survive the rooting process. If you have to much leaf on the clone it will eat its self trying to survive before they grow roots. Typically only keep three nodes above rooting substrate. This will help that the plant doesn’t have to keep so much leaf structure alive while it’s trying to root. It also looks like you may not have the right light. You should just be using low powered lighting Preferably in the blue spectrum. Keep these at a good distance they don’t need a lot of light when they’re rooting. The most important thing in hydroponics is PH. You really need to monitor and regulate your
PH in hydro. You should get a PH meter and PH down is usually all that’s needed here. You should maintain your hydroponics at 5.8 PH. Clonex solution should be all that’s needed. You will start slowly building up a feeding program after clones are removed from the cloner and transplant it up. Make sure you ambient Rh in the room is above 70 % Or use a clone dome to regulate RH for the clones. Then slowly taper down ambient RH once you’re starting to root. You’re on the right track just make these few adjustments and you’ll probably have 100% success !!! Cheers @AreTwoDeeTwo !!!

Edit- I do not run anything hydroponics without adding Hydroguard or something similar. Any standing water should be treated. This is no different. This beneficial bacteria will protect your water. Add two mills per gallon every three days.

Tap Water- assume it has chlorine in it and do not use it unless you’ve treated it. Lots of different ways to go about this.

Dang it I just read ur comment an mine are definitely to big also I believe but I actually cut the leafs in half this morning this is my 1st attempt at clones Iol

You can go back and trim those down. Just cut the next node up for your clone you can just basically re-clone those a little smaller… They will route faster and look better … You can leave it as is the worst thing they’ll look a little rough before they get rooted … or if you got a little time, you can trim them down a little bit and reclone them. Cutting the leaves in half is good. If the leafs are too large, I cut them in half. It’s less leaf structure to keep alive and it encourages root growth. CHEERS @Cummings420 !!!

Awesome great information THANK U BTYGMO I appreciate it

You guys are great. I broke several rules here. I always clean my clones up and didn’t this time. I will clean them up and see how they finish. In the mean time I guess I will take new ones in case.

Par meter is at 60. 6500k flouros. I was thinking light too but that’s low.

pH isn’t the issue as not much of a rise switching out so often. No biofilm or anything.

Almost can guarantee it’s your PH.

I stopped using clonex solution because it’s PH stability is for shit unless you’re plugging the clone into coco or a medium other than a DWC style cloner.

Also if you have an air stone in that ez cloner you’re almost guaranteed wild ph swings. I switched to a small pump that would just break above the water surface and aerate the water in that manner because it won’t cause ph flux like air stones do.

I also agree with trimming back your leaves. You want to focus on rooting not photosynthesis. This combined with low light and you’ll have the keys to the castle so to speak.

Good luck!
