Cloning help

I find the cuttings from higher up on the plant root faster sometimes. I wouldn’t say 10-14 is abnormal some root faster or slower than others, I always take 2x the clones I need then use the ones that root right away and save the other ones for another planting later. Sometimes you can get them to root in 7 days. I’ve seen some go as slow as 30 days lol now that’s abnormal. I can go as high as 20C, 30C is very dangerous. 90F danger. 75F OK 68F is what I use. oxygen is depleted at 90F in the water and fungus will definitely grow.

10 to 14 days isn’t a bad time span. There are multiple factors involved in cloning and if your method, strain, etc…, involves that time range then just factor that into your crop growing times and you’re all good.
The main objective is rooted clones and you’ve got that under control…

Hey on this here. I have ez clone shell i got pvc 1/2" to build better manifold. How many spray heads can i get away with. You think 12-15 is too many for a 880gph (rated) pump the ezclone manifold steps out to like 1" and i think thats causing loss of pressure. Im rebuilding a better shaped manifold with 1/2" like you did. I havent drilled it yet but want to know how many jets so i can mark where i want em

As a data point, my ezclone came with a 450 pump and 4 spray heads. Seems to have decent pressure.

Yeah mine had 9 heads but less heads i think = more pressure i made a 12 head im hoping that going from 1" pipe to 1/2" will help pressure too. The pump didnt fit the ez clone manifold. I bought adapter but it raised it an inch and i think the smaller hole in the pump being upsized to 1" lost major pressure. Or could just be a crap pump. But i got manifold the way i want it now ill fire it up tomorrow and see how it flys. Got to get to cloning soon

My 18 yr. old 1 gal. cloner, I’ve rooted way over 2,000+ cuttings with this cheapo aero cloner.

Yeah, I think that’d be fine. That should give you plenty of coverage.

Thanks yeagh i did 12 heads didnt even need to glue pipes plugged all together turned pump on and the flow is at least 5x better than the ez clone manifold and steady. And i built it slightly larger with jets in center unlike the ezclone. Works a lot better

Well I finally found success with cloning. Changed 3 variables and I’m not for certain which mattered, probably all of them.

Switched from bottle nutes to dry top dressing amendments on the mother plants. Started a regular feeding of worm castings as well. Not so much my way better as I know what I’m doing that way and should have never tried to reinvent the wheel. So HEALTHY MOTHER PLANTS mattered?

Friend suggested I go around my R/O system and just use tap water that’s been bubbled for a night. Claimed R/O can remove trace elements clones need. Who knows.

Started using clonex liquid in my solution instead of just a big dip in the gel.

Either way I have a tent full of healthy babies and another tent full of mom’s I just flipped to 12/12. I’m gonna have to use the first generation clones as my mother stock as there’s not enough time between now and outdoor planting (makes my frozen heart happy to write that :star_struck:) to run the clones through veg and then flower to make informed decisions on who goes outdoors into the living soil beds.

This community is priceless thanks for all the conversations. Even the advice I didn’t use makes me better informed and is helpful.

My next big endeavor is that my wife and I are putting in an offer on a local garden center store. I plan to devote a corner of retail space to living soil and full organics. Not necessarily a cannabis grow shop as much as me trying to use what I’ve learned growing weed to help with general agriculture in my community and get people to both grow bigger veggies and help the planet. I’ll also include cannabis on all my charts, should be somewhere between begonias and cantaloupe. Try and get rid of the devil weed stigma so many boomers in my sleepy little town believe.

In Oklahoma it is gaining acceptance with many “boomers” thankfully. My dad even told me the other day it works better than his pain meds with less side effects.

 Hmmmmmm, no shit?

Sad part is he will probably hit a brick wall when he asks his pain Dr about a prescription.

LOL, same with my doc…

Right on. A close personal acquaintance, in their 70’s, requires quite a bit of my ‘special run’, non-decarbed-coconut/canna oil. Claims it works on pain and swelling. I’ve also been approached about doing a salve, so this weed is the shit for sure!
