Cloning Methods…

I’m thinking if I use @Jim 's suggestion and dip the ends in wax, and “sterilizing” and then fridging them, maybe I can keep them in stasis for even longer.

I should say, I had them in a bubble mailer in my fridge for their protection, as well.

I think I only opened the Ziploc bag once in that whole span @Papalag,and it was only a few weeks before they were removed for rooting.

@Lobstah - I had moist paper towel around the stems. I think wax would be better as it doesn’t add the extra moisture that could cause additional problems. Sounds like some good variables for an experiment! :man_scientist:

I tend to agree with wax on the tips I’ve used this method to send cuts overseas

I started rooting clones in promix

I ran out of rooters so I figured I’d give it a try
You can use a clear cup to watch root development
Using a solo cup
I filled 3/4 if the way with promix bx
I wet it through with water and rhizotonic with a pinch of 5/12/26

Once wet i compacted the promix till it’s now 1/2 filled and drain out the excess water by pressing
Once completed I poked a hole :hole: the size of the stems and kept warm over night

Cuts prepared as usual
Dipped in homex #8
Placed in hole
Packed tight
Cover cup with plastic bag
Wait 10 days and done

These where done in 10 days I removed the bag and they are happy

Ive not made it 5 months, but I used to keep cups in a cup of water in the fridge 3-4 months all the time with no loss of rooting %. The trick was swap the water out every other day.
