Can someone give me some info on if theres a strain that is resistant to extreme cold. Im a newer grower and trying to get some smoke stocked up but it will be very cold here in illinois soon. Im doing an auto run now and than using my last few auto seeds till i receive a few letters but im trying to line up something i can run after that. If you got any details please let me know im not rich by any means but id like to have something i can run even in the cold. Trying to figure out what strain or area has the most temperature resistant strains. Thank you everyone

How cold are you trying to go? Outdoor or inside with minimal heat?
I’ve had some cultivars go as far as Dec outdoor

Well either or you know what i mean. If i can run outdoor sweet if i gotta run indoor i can do that too if need be. My shop usually never drops below 20° and thats with no twnt or light or anything

But outdoor it gets down to -20°f with windchill outside

Last November we seen -13 f with wind chill
Okay so your not far off from here maybe even colder
I ran my outdoor stuff until nov 15th and it had went below freezing a few times. They liked it but couldnt handle it everyday and than had to be pulled

Yeah I had a Link pheno that handled it no problem but went into a kind of hibernation so I took them anyways

It stopped growing didn’t kill it. It just was waiting on warmer weather would it have survived January idk yet probably not

I could run those two again my outdoor seeds but im running real low on those. I want to save them for when i learn enough to do a seed run plus they werent made for the cold consistently anyways

My green pheno took damage but not the black one
These grew from fallen seed and with no “tending” too I was “gone”
