Yes stay the course…
lmao!! out of likes
Haha it’s easy here bro
Hi Doug, I read on Icmag someone having success with some stubborn seeds by incorporating a temperature variability. I read you mention taking the advice of someone here and turning the heating mat timer off for a few minutes here and there. This would be a similar approach, although with more variance in the temperature difference. Post #16
I think that seeds sprout in paper towels because they’re vigorous and healthy, not necessarily because the paper towel environment is the most ideal scenario to germinate seeds. Had always used the paper towel method until I was trying to germinate some older seeds and they just kept going to mush with some faking me out by popping and showing a little tail before eventually going to mush. After that, I figured seeds sprouted in the paper towel method in spite of the paper towel method and have since gone to using seedling flats and propagation domes with a quality bagged soil. Still, there have been times trying to germinate old stock in the seedling flats with quality soil and none sprouted so it’s still not a guarantee. Hoping the BMR start coming to life for you soon Doug. Much love.
very, very easy my likes get used up quick
I still have an hour wait haha… looks like I’ll get them back 1 by 1
Feels like all the dudes standing around the grill at the barbecue doesn’t it? “You gonna flip that one on the left…?” Gotta have something to talk about while we’re all kicking stones waiting for dinner to be ready though right?
Lmao so true bro!!!
I never tried this myself but some people suggest using different seeds like tomatoe etc to soak and germ in water and then put the old seeds in that same water to absorb the enzyms. Someone else on a COOP said to germ a bunch of veggie seeds and then put that in a mixer with water and then soak the old seeds in that to get the enzyms. Again, Ive never tried this myself…
I did germ over 10 year old seeds earlier this year and it took some of them over 10 days to pop in paper towl. About 40% turned into seedlings, some cracked but never made a tap root.
Those beans are slower than smoke off dookie.
How is the original loan survivor doing?
Still really pathetic looking but the new leaves are looking better. It’s going to become a decent plant at some point I figure. The fact that it is still growing and developing new leaves is cool to see at least.
@DougDawson its not you it’s the seeds. It’s not you it’s the seeds. It’s not you it’s the seeds. Sorry I have been on Grandpa duty today.
@DougDawson is doing what needs to be done and I thank him for being open to constructive criticism.
I got those beans a while back from Mrs BoG before Mr fell ill. Customs frowns on white substances or else I would of gladly shared some of the gibberellic acid.
We shall survive … I still got Sour Blue Tooth as well. And plan on having a close bud do some work on the Bogglegum.
I’m a member now
Plenty more I’m willing to throw in on preservation work too so all greasy.
Welcome @MeowsTrapSeeds glad you can join the party. Maybe you can send some mojo over to them beans and get em lit.
I’ve done as much as I can so far.
Blowing sunshine up North getting cold all around.
Not sure if @DougDawson mention to you but we were speaking of Mr Candy previously this evening before you posted this.
The energy is strong.
