(complete) Sheelavathi Seed Run

This one is finally completed. Seeds have been sent in to be distributed in the spring/fall boxes.
I still have about 5000 or so of these seeds left…………

Thanks SO much for doing this. Such a huge amount of work that isn’t lost on any of us.

In lieu of the “feeling” that very few here have grown a pure sativa and may just be drawn to the glowing anecdotal evidence, this is going to be interesting, The biggest challenges will be the retention of plenty of leaves until harvest and having the patience and the room to handle such a lanky phenotype if they decide to grow it indoors. Outdoors would be best with these genetics.

Folks need to plan well, have plenty of light, maintain plenty of N throughout the grow and not screw them up with bloom foods…and well…just use some common botanical sense.

I’ve grown some real challenges indoors - Zamal gifted by Gypsy (Nirvana), The Original Haze by The Flying Dutchman, and Dalat Vietnamese.

Here’s one example where a tent won’t work. I had to let this Dalat grow on past the lights in my garden, which was flexible. The top was open and reflective side panels were moveable, adjusted according to the garden’s footprint. I topped Dalat several times too.

Employing my topping technique to get 4 main colas after the seedling reaches 4-6 nodes is advised. Pix got trashed in this thread but I still have the originals if need be. Uncle Ben's Topping Technique to Get 2 or 4 Main Colas | Rollitup

A heads up, and I don’t mean to be an alarmist but such Asian genetics i.e. Thai have a tendency to go hermi, which you may have seen with a comment I read about pollination @Oldjoints. Folks, if you see nanners and you’re a purist, then pull those that do it. If you don’t mind a few hermi seeds and are just in it for the smoke, then let them go. Nothing wrong with seeded bud.

Super nice to share. I and other seasoned sativa growers might want to stay on the side lines to offer some tips. After all, we want everyone to come out of this happy.

Good luck,
Uncle Ben

Thanks bro, I might just do that for a few. I do hope you’re compensated for shipping costs, but that’s your biz.

These extreme Ace sativa projects will keep me busy. They are fems too.

Good luck,

Yes I did find two females that showed hermi traits but culled those plants. That sure doesn’t stop that trait from showing up in the progeny though.

Sure, we all like sensi but you have to go with the flow too. I just got my butt kicked by mama nature - out of 8 indica seeds sowed, all but one turned out male. If I didn’t have bad luck I wouldn’t have any luck at all. Then lo and behold, the only female (Cannacopia Lapiz Mtn. indica) got hit hard by mites! Got them under control and the plant is still flush with healthy leaves close to harvest, but…

Been doing sativas all my life. Am finally concentrating on pure indicas. Have 3 pure indica seedlings going now - Cannacopia Choc. Chunk (another Deep Chunk varietal), Tom Hill’s Deep Chunk from 1990 and Hazeman’s Monkey Balls indica, a F2 Deep Chunk. The Tom Hill Deep Chunk are the craziest, weirdest, phenos I have ever seen.

Such fun

I am an Indica fan so have grown many strains of it. Got to love a fast turn-around and I love a couchlock type of buzz for nights.
But I have grown a few long flowering sativa’s and been rewarded with some nice daytime smoke. If they are racy though I have to pass as it puts me on edge!

have heard that low “n” in flower is perferred just got some Panama and Malawi x Panama excited about thisnew project _ did you know there are 2 "different strains of this “panama” 2 from Ace ?? they have a Panama x Malawi and a Malawi x Panama - the difference is the dominate gene, I wanted a more Malawi
with Panama. Golden Tiger - seen some massive yields !!!

The difference should be that the Panama x Malawi is a Panama female and a Malawi male. Where in the Malawi x Panama should have a Malawi female and a Panama male.
In these strains the female of the strain should always be listed first.

“The Heard” is usually wrong.

I germed 3 of of these but they too turned out male. Great company, I trust them totally. https://kwikseeds.com/product/master-kush-1990-x-afghaan-90/

:joy::rofl:too true! Not this time though. Good Idea to use low N for sativas. They dont like much. Ace Sativas might be an exception, i dont know.

This TFD Original Haze outdoors got a constant supply of N until harvest. I applied a Polyon 18-4-9 slow release. It’s leaves that initiate and produce flowers, not The Herd, especially when it comes to cannabis forums. Never read so much crap in all my life.

FWIW, this is the branching profile from my 4 cola pruning drill.
