Looking good! I continue to be curious about how that Tiger Berry is gonna end up; thanks for the update brother
Structure & stem rub really uniform so far. Let’s see how they pack on the frost! Thanks for stopping by as always @HeadyBearAdventures
Looking good man! Excited to hear about your plans for crosses!
Not sure how I haven’t found my way here yet, but I MADE IT ! Looking real good my friend. Some interesting varietals there. Definitely following along. You may not see me, nor hear from me often, but rest assured I’m there , WATCHING CLOSELY haha
Plants have been sexed, previous post has been updated. I’ll be moving things around later and culling extra males tonight to set up for these crosses.
Current plans, space #1:
Tiger Berry x Tiger Berry
Columbian Gum x Tiger Berry
(PP x RB) x Tiger Berry
Space #2:
Tiger Berry x Chunky Mint Kush
Space #3:
Tiger Berry x (LA Affie x Afghan Hash Plant)
Not sure if I can work in the PPP pollen somewhere, I’ll do my best.
Really wanted to reproduce the CMK as it’s been so vigorous, it’s got wild prehistoric fan leaves, and a great minty stem rub. I think this setup is the only way I can make that happen, looks like I won’t quite get all the crosses I was hoping for but that’s OK.
Everything is looking great in there ! Definetly excited for these crosses. I cant wait to hear and see what phenos you get from them. Looks like you have just what you need to make the crosses you wanted to
Almost all the beans I wanted to make.
I can finally do some tagging! A big thank you to @Soiltech for providing the Tiger Berry & Chunky Mint Kush beans for this run. The CMK is a creation of his.
Thanks again, as long as this run is successful I’ll be sharing these beans with quite a few people. If you’re up for it @Soiltech I’m sure we’d enjoy whatever info/pictures you’ve got for us. I know you were having trouble commenting on this but hopefully that’s sorted out now
Sounds interesting, will keep an eye on this.
When I was younger i remember reading a nat’l geographic magazine article that featured a newly discovered stone age type horse species living in a remote valley in Nepal or Tibet area. I would bet there’s all sorts of landraces in China. Locals surely know the whereabouts already. I read about one landrace years ago that grows along the ground as a “vine”. Maybe when The Real Seed Company first started this one was listed? Seem to recall that.
Looking good! Can’t wait to see some flowers forming😁
I don’t know if it was RSC, but I do remember something like that. I think it was called a “creeper” and it put out roots wherever it touched the ground. Such a characteristic would make cloning much, much easier, just as easy as chocolate mint or lemon thyme.
As large as China is, there’s no telling what you’d find.
I knew you could force a plant to do that, but I had no idea there was a canna plant out there in the wild that grows that way naturally ! Thats wild man.
There was such a plant in the Tiger Jack thread. I think somebody said it sometimes shows up in Jack Herer crosses.
Another quick update: The chunky mint kush lady hermed pretty hard about 10 days into flower, it’s been culled. Thankfully caught it before anything opened up.
Was a very nice female - gigantic fan leaves, excellent vigor & node spacing, and a pleasant minty stem rub. Too bad!
Most of the upper nodes had balls on them. Every other plant on the go has been thoroughly looked over, this is the only herm so far.
This means that for now, the chunky mint kush repro is off the table as I only have one male left.
CMK male dropping some pollen for me.
All the other crosses are going ahead as planned
Thanks for sharing this @BasementBeans
Oh damn. That’s a shame. At least everyone else is okay thou. Nice work finding that !
Current crosses:
(Palestinian Princess x Raspberry Breath) x Tiger Berry #2
Tiger Berry #1 x Tiger Berry #2
Tiger Berry #4 x Chunky Mint Kush
Tiger Berry #3 x (LA Affie x Afghan Hash Plant)
Quick notes on what we still have:
PP x RB: Behind in age. Tight node structure, not much on the stem rub yet. Showing pinks & purples all over.
TB #2: Really took off in flower. Just the right amount of stretch, good pollen production. Lavender/soap/berries on the stem rub.
TB #1: Similar lavender/soap/berry stem rub, tight node structure again.
TB #4: My favorite TB female. Intoxicating stem rub, very heavy on berries & soap, already very greasy & strong smelling. Very little stretch.
CMK: Selected male, insane vigor (almost touching the light), probably the most pollen I’ve seen out of a male on F20. Great minty stem rub, gigantic fan leaves. Can’t wait to see what this cross has to offer.
TB #3: Like the other females, little stretch. This one has taken on a stem rub of berry cat piss, I physically pulled my head away when I smelled it lol. Frosting up earlier than the rest.
LA Affie x Afghan: Selected male, great structure & impressive pollen production for how far behind it is. Intense stem rub, can’t quite place it.
Baaah, That’s a bummer about the CG, I’m sorry dude
Hahah all good man, just one less cross to give out.
