First time growing out Compound’s work, this time La Bomba. It’s been going well so far, they are keeping me interested.
Started with a 5pack, though one was a runt with no fitness, and that couldn’t even manage to set his taproot properly.
Heavy fuel and sweet dank aromas, on a cookies/kush type of structure. There are tropical fruity/berry scents on a few of these too, while having that characteristic Sour Kush rank as a common denominator. A single one has a strawberry jam scent that is evident and it’s a delightful combo. They are loud, yet again as you would expect from such heritage.
My favorite one so far from the bunch is La Bomba#1 or Jet Fuel Cake, as I like to call it since the original name is a bit obnoxious.
This particular individual has mostly a very loud sour/vintage perfume/aldehydic scent to it with just a hint of candy sweetness. Structure wise is pretty good, very short internodal space and decent bulk, not leggy like her siblings.
It’s being grown in organic living soil, amended with kelp, neem cake and mycorrhiza as well as a few more things, all under 150w 2,1umol/J led fixture.
Looking good my friend, heard good things about compund, never tried them before.
But I am growing a clone now from node’s lab that’s a compound genetic plant and it’s absolute fire so far.
Its got that jet fuel Gelato in it as well, it’s super loud as too
Are they all super loud or just the one you like best?
Thanks mate. Regarding loudness, I’d say #1 is of a very high tier, on par with elites of this type and hence superior to most good ones, #3 is a tad lower in volume though it’s a somewhat rarer aroma profile and could still be considered a standout, followed by #2 along the same line as #3 but lower projection and #4 having a more generic aroma profile, a diluted blend of Sour Diesel x OG types without being relevant/standout in any way as of now.
So #1 and #3 could be keepers.
Despite the low numbers of this cycle I’ve ran a bigger population cycles of other plants of the same type before, though from other sources, (i.e. kush/GSC type NA genetics), and these La Bomba are turning out to be probably the best and most promising. Perhaps I just got a couple of lucky phenos, Impossible to say for sure given such a low number.
I’ll be sampling them soon and be able to evaluate them better, so far has been a nice surprise.
Curious to know more about that node labs/compound cut.
Sounds like you found some winners!
compound has some fire
Bet your going to have fun sampling them😁
As fore the marshmallow og, it’s super duper loud gassy goodness so far, hopefully try it soon, have a small lower branch almost dry, probably test it tomorrow night.
It’s super lanky and just packs on the trichs. So loud when growing it almost burns the nose😆
It’s the clone you’re growing from Node, the Marshmallow OG?
I’ve considered that seed lot before, TK x Chem 4. There should be a lot of stretch in these from Chem 4/Sour D. genetics and a remote Haze further down. Share your pics, if you’re willing. Would love to see them.
In the end I’ve opted for both this one and High Society.
Ya pretty much, it’s just super loud and gassy and has that really nice kushy taste, tried it last night on the lowest branch i took off to try out…love this stuff
@NorthstarOG Oh man that sucks, if your in the states I’m sure you could track down a clone of marshmallow og #9 from nodes lab, a few vendors have it.
I’m in the Santa Cruz area so I’m not missing out too much we got Kyle kushmans starberry cough, and cookie fams cereal milk clones🤔 but I’m sitting on these grandpapy skunk seeds so I’m lost on what to cross lol
Jet Fuel Cake#1. It’s harvest day. Took 65 days, though it could have gone longer as some could say. Her aroma profile was already peaking for some time and I really wanted to capture it that way.
Aldehydic perfume type of smell. It’s one of the most interesting profiles I’ve seen. Having already grown a Sour Kush from DNA that resembled it a bit, this phenotype is still far superior.
