I was having a talk with a classmate of mine, and she was telling me that she likes to smoke, and she has everything for an indoor grow.

She asked me for some seeds, because according to her you can’t buy or get them anymore. So I gave her some feminized blimburn plushberry auto flowers that I have. Gave her a brief rundown on how they are cultivated, and immediately she started countering me with, “well what about the male?”

I explained to her that you don’t need males to grow. All you need is flower that will swell up within a certain timeframe based on the short life of ruderalis. I also explained to her that if she wants to breed for seeds, then that is when she needs a male plant. She just kept going in circles, countering, and countering, and countering about how you need a male plant. This was on Tuesday.

So today when we talk, she was telling me that her husband is against feminized plants and seeds because when you pollinate “two estrogen plants, it messes with the human biology and causes men to grow boobs, as they are now producing estrogen based on inhalation.”

I could not wrap my head around this conversation, I was seriously at a loss of words for her not being open to listening to what I was trying to teach her. I do hope that she takes my suggestion to read this website along with all the bro science out there on Reddit with “teo more weeks and CalMag,” or “source: trust me, bro.”

She also stated that you gotta let the seeds germinate in water with Epsom salts in order for them to properly get a start.

Does anyone else have a similar story or talk to people that just were not open to another point of view when it comes to this plant? I’m not judging, I’m just a bit disappointed in some people.

My father grew back in the 70s, and the way he cultivates is similar to the way that I do. Granted this was back in the day of regs. He was also surprised at the concept of feminized seeds, but he was definitely open to growing them out to see it for himself. And yes, my father culls any male plants that he comes across because he doesn’t wanna seed anyone else’s bud.

I was locked up and dude swore if you exhausted car exhaust into the room whilst flowering it would turn the plant purple. Lmao i taught the whole lockdown how to grow. I mean better satisfied gardners they be than criminals…lmao

Haha yeah man unfortunately have come across a ton of people on cannabis forums that believe a bunch of nonsense and bro science. I love how she believes you can’t acquire cannabis seeds anymore…smh very difficult. Something tells me she doesn’t have much of a gardening background and PSA tap water works perfectly fine for germination and growing weed haha

Good lord my 13 year old has a better understanding of plants then your mate there. I can’t say I’ve ever had that. I do get the god awful looks when I’m openly talking about growing or cultivating in public. Legal here so I don’t care. That’s to funny tho.

I can understand the thought process behind it, where carbon dioxide is plant food, but I think he misinterpreted carbon monoxide. Really bad judgment on his end. Things that make you go hmm…

The last time someone asked me for pointers it was a friend’s 75 year old father.

He said “do you know anything about growing cannabis?”
I said “well, maybe one or two things.”

He was very receptive to input and thankful for the seeds I gave him.

But I hear all kinds of stupid shit.

This hits close to home lol. Ive had a ton of folks in person and online drop all sorts of awful information. Some classics were “If you let a male show sex, itll pollinate this entire 2 acre farm” or “Feminized seeds have more potency because males are inferior” and my favorite “One tiny male will pollinate plants up to 10 males away, despite being in a greenhouse”.

Around here tons of folks grow plants in their back yards for fun, and are more than happy to give bad advice. But for some reason it’s always the ones with plants covered in aphids that wanna tell everyone how to do it

I was fishing with a Doctor of Psychology . We were putting stocked trout on the stringer, he asked if he could throw the fish out. I said sure, then heard a splash and looked over. He didnt hold the end, he just threw the whole thing in the lake.
