Coronavirus Facts and Fiction - January - May 2020 [Closed]

I remember an article in High Times back in the 90s about the long awaited WHO report into cannabis. The actual report found it to be the most benign psychoactive substance known to man. However they were lent on heavily by the then US admin to bury the report. Instead it was released but the conclusions (the only part most would read) were altered. No signs of serious addiction problems became - Signs of serious addiction problems. High potential for medicinal use became - No potential for medicinal use.

The conclusions were at complete odds with the rest of the report. Once this was highlighted by HT and a few others, copies of the report became impossible to get hold of and even finding any reference to that report became almost impossible.

Big pharma has the capital, influence and motivation to obstruct anything that threatens their profit margins.

Very much depends on where you live. Avoiding NYC would have been a good move early on, for instance.

I dont, stopped wearing gloves as well. Just washing my hands whenever I come back from going out. Don’t touch my face and keep a minimum 6 ft from people.

I was in Costco today and a guy in the queue behind me started coughing his lungs out. He cleared a big space around him, even though he was wearing a mask lol. I was expecting one of the staff monitoring the queue to tell him he couldn’t come in but they did not say anything.

People will straight up tell you to leave here in MI if you don’t have one. I quite literally took off my undershirt to fashion a crude mask so I could send a package. Seen a lady at the liquor store get asked to leave. I basically wear a bandana in public now; feel like I’m at a festival.

My area is pure country and nobody wears a mask at all. I was in a store with about 40 people today and I was the only person wearing one.

I would say, in the midwest US, 90% of shoppers are wearing masks at the grocery store. Retailers are now requiring their employees to wear masks. I forsee, just as costco announced, you will be asked/required to wear one to shop.

Actually, those on the front lines are aware that the current count is not accurate and will not be accurate for quite some time. There is a huge backlog of tissue testing from those who passed during this time. Most experts agree that the current count is off by 10’s of thousands and that many more people have died from Covid than the current numbers show.

Right now, everyone is overwhelmed and it will probably take a few years before we know with some degree of accuracy how many died from this pandemic. Will they ever be 100% sure? No, but they know they can have a much more accurate number once the backlog of testing is completed.

Same here. Went to town and only saw 1 person with a mask. I keep one and gloves with me but so far just using hand sanitizer and washing when I get home. Small town rural area.

I’ve found a new drinking game. Drive around to big box parking lots, and every time I see someone fuck up using their PPE I take a shot of hand sanitizer.
