Coronavirus Facts and Fiction - January - May 2020 [Closed]

Our government has no spine and no money to shut everything down… for a good reason. Call corona a pipeline and we will never have to think of it again

Thanks Loki
I thought that was the case wanted to be sure for people who may need 70% ISO substitute.

I’d be less surprised to see that China released it in its own people. They have been known to do things like this. It ended all the protests they were having and has put a dent in the global economy just as everyone was learning their economy was propped up on fake numbers.

Very good possibilty and I am almost sure this will be further investigated once the Virus term has passed. May even lead to War.

to continue that line of thinking, the chinese government has stated china is overpopulated with men due to their failed one child policy. That correlates rather neatly with the fact this virus does not affect children, and affects women at a much lesser rate than men.
the ratio is almost the exact opposite of their demographic problem, ideal for them to cut down their population without sacrificing productivity.

I studied the aids virus in college, and that indian paper about the genetics of the corona virus and the sections of identical code present in hiv1 was hard to ignore. There is a lot of genetic information that doesn’t code for anything, the fact that these ‘inserts’ include only the genetic information that specifically code for structural proteins does point to human intervention.

If this was natural, there would be a lot of extraneous genes that didn’t code for any structural traits. seeing direct similarities is not uncommon, particularly for long gene sequences. short sequences that code for specific structural traits are an absolute red flag.

That said, they did not preclude the possibility that these gene sequences may have been introduced in the early stages of mutation when the virus first jumped to humans. HIV itself is also a zoonotic virus, it’s equally possible that one of the first humans who was infected with this corona virus also had HIV, and the mutation was caused through interaction within the human immune system.

this is something I have not studied, but I really hope this is the case. the alternative is simply unthinkable, though I can conceive of it being done.

Strange how China has everything under control. No new cases outside of Hubei but yet are building 19 new makeshift hospitals.

Actions speak louder than numbers

I had been hoping that the simple differences in our lifestyles would limit the spread of the virus in the US (ie cities are less densely populated than asian or european countries, fewer individuals per dwelling statistically, etc), or at least slow it or buffer the spread of the virus from one community to the next. sadly it is looking like this is not the case.

I am in Portland OR and I have just been advised by my primary care Dr. and the CDC not to leave the house because of my medical condition while the virus is spreading in the community.

I have a compromised immune system and a muscular disorder.
I currently have a cellulitis infection which I have been fighting for at least 2.5 weeks now, but my surgeon says there is nothing to operate on at this time. Taking heavy duty antibiotics for potential Persistent Staph infection. I am also getting over a cold which has me feeling pretty weak.

That said, spirits are high.
I’ll be sure to let you all know if I do end up with the Saint James Infirmary Blues.

Government is retarded, we need to flush these people from making public decisions:

@Northern_Loki watch this episode. A lot to do with people not getting tested who show symptoms :v:

I pulled this paragraph.

Under the new recommendations in Placer and Yolo counties, which are effective through March 31, individuals who have come in contact with a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 will no longer be required to be quarantined for 14 days. Instead, a person with cold-like symptoms, regardless of whether they have the coronavirus or flu, are asked to self-quarantine and manage their symptoms with over-the-counter drugs.

How fucking disturbing. They are not even going to bother to test people. US is in big as trouble.

Canada as well, both countries are working hard to not test people and have no interest in stopping the spread of this. The world has gone mad.

That’s because it’s no where near as bad ass the media is making it out to be

@Daytripr69 … where is your data to back up that claim? Gotta have data dude. Statements like that are worthless without any. The media didn’t have anything to do with Italy quarantining there entire country. The virus did that. Same with China…etc … etc

Here is an interview from a dr on the front line in Italy. I guess he is making it out to be worse than it is to?

Quote from the video

“If your not very careful controlling the spread of the disease this disease will overwhelm your system, no matter how modern it is”

your article is dated february 20th… all of the temporary hospitals that were built in wuhan are now closed

Your source is sketchy at best :grin: that’s a state owned news agency. What you get from them is lies.

Here is a fun one.

It’s just the flu :mask:

lmao and the article you posted claiming 19 are being built was from xinhua, a state owned news agency … weird how that works … seems the US government/medias sinophobia propaganda campaign has been effective

My state owned media source is much more reliable than yours :rofl::rofl::rofl: I’m only bugging. Your right, from China nothing can be trusted. Who knows if they built 19 hospitals. Who knows if they didn’t… nothing from their state owned media sources can be trusted.

The only thing we know is that the entire country is still under lockdown. That you can’t dispute. Which clearly tells us they have not stopped the spread of this virus which was my initial point in my 19 hospital post.

In Canada the don’t test don’t tell campaign is working wonderfully. I give it 4 weeks until Toronto is in lock down.

i didn’t say that at all. i would say they are no less reliable than American “independent” mainstream media or the American government itself, or any other country or state for that matter. these things are also easily verifiable (very large buildings being constructed or shut down) with satellite imagery. logically, America benefits more from this outbreak than China does, and Americas government is much less concerned about it than basically any other country, so maybe they know something others don’t or they’re just woefully inept.

none of this can be proven one way or the other so i’ll no longer engage in wild speculation. i am biased because i happen to like china and their system of governance and i also dislike the US state and their system of governance.

I agree American and Canadian media for that matter has all been compromised. Which is why this thread from top to bottom is filled with non main stream media sources.

If you dig into it their is data compiled that clearly shows Chinas vehicle traffic is down, there energy usage is down, pollutions is down. And it’s not just down a bit. All things pointing to an economy that has ground to a halt. These things truly show us the reality of what’s actually going on in China.

You like a communist regime that represses their people ? Strange…

totally off topic but China has lifted 750 million people out of poverty in the past 40 years while in America it’s increased by 10 million people. the suggestion that they repress their people is just not true. china understands a country is only as strong as its people and invests heavily in its people with free university etc
