Ok so the flu has killed more people than covid-19 since it started. (Approx 20,000 americans this flu season in total) and thats with approx 60% of americans getting the flu shot.

So tell me again how covid-19 is worse and why we are all freaking out??

Yeah Mongo I know, why beat a dead horse?

I just cant wrap my head around this. They kill the same demographic, very similar transmission, same basic rate of affect (can show little symptoms or be in big trouble) just the flu symptoms occur faster.

So yeah, sorry but wake up folks. Gotta love hype train fear mongering.

This has just started. It’s not going to stop until it runs it’s coarse.
The real problem we are seeing is massive stress on the most modern of hospitals. Which in itself is scary. Also an alarming number of health workers getting infected

Almost 400 deaths in Italy over the last 2 days. Here this is from a nurse in buffalo.

————————-

This coronavirus isn’t the flu !!!
The fact that people go see the doctor for the flu cannot be compare to the coronavirus …

Coronavirus dont have a treatment
Flu does…

Lets talk numbers and then decide if you want to be prepare or not!!!

As of March 8,
about 500 cases of Covid-19 had been diagnosed in the U.S.

Studies showed that We can expect a doubling of cases every six days

That means we are looking at about 1 million U.S. cases by the end of April;
2 million by May 7;
4 million by May 13; and so on.

The U.S. has about 2.8 hospital beds per 1,000 people (South Korea and Japan, two countries that have similar trajectory,
have more than 12 hospital beds per 1,000 people;
even China has 4.3 per 1,000).

In the US With a population of 330 million, this is about 1 million hospital beds.
At any given time, about 68% of them are occupied
That leaves about 300,000 beds available nationwide.

The majority of people with Covid-19 can be managed at home. But among 44,000 cases in China, about 15% required hospitalization and 5% ended up in critical care.

In Italy, the statistics so far are even more dismal:
More than half of infected individuals require hospitalization and about 10% need treatment in the ICU.

THIS IS THE DIFFERENCE between flu and coronavirus
Cases of flu ended up in a bed is 1,4%
Cases with coronavirus ended up in a bed 15%

I’m struggling to understand how people still have this type of attitude toward this thing. After shutting down China, Italy and Iran you would think people would “wake up”

Anyways not gonna convince ya man but facts are facts and if you can’t Handel them the problem isn’t the facts, tuff love.

I’m curious have you ever watched a single video posted in this thread? If not watch this one at least. It’s not fake lol

The flu is a virus as well so it has no treatment either. Can only treat symptoms

Ugh daytripper where do you get this stuff from lol

Usually, you’ll need nothing more than bed rest and plenty of fluids to treat the flu. But if you have severe infection or are at higher risk for complications, your doctor may prescribe an antiviral medication , such as oseltamivir (Tamiflu), zanamivir (Relenza), peramivir (Rapivab) or baloxavir (Xofluza).

Actually I guess there is a treatment to corona technically . It’s called intubation. But who gets access to ventilators when the system gets flooded so we back to the same problem. Overwhelmed hospital system.

Intubation is the process of inserting a tube, called an endotracheal tube (ET), through the mouth and then into the airway. This is done so that a patient can be placed on a ventilator to assist with breathing

The flu is a more rapid contagion. It’s easier to get infected from the flu, so it spreads more rapidly, but exhibits symptoms more quickly and has a 10-30x lower mortality rate.

COVID does not spread as easily, but can spread for weeks before the carrier exhibits symptoms. This makes it difficult to determine who has it, and they spread it unknowingly. So although it won’t spread as quickly, there is nothing to stop it from eventually reaching very high numbers of infection. And if equal numbers of infection are eventually reached will be much more devastating.

I just listed multiple treatments for the flu. I didn’t make them up. They are used widely around the world.

Viruses cause familiar infectious diseases such as the common cold, flu and warts. … For most viral infections, treatments can only help with symptoms while you wait for your immune system to fight off the virus . Antibiotics do not work for viral infections. There are antiviral medicines to treat some viral infections.

So you are confused. We are talking about treatments.

Simply not true. It has no antibiotic

Have you bothered to watch any of the videos on the thread?

Those treatments do squat for the flu lol I’ve taken a couple of them and honestly it makes it worse. No I won’t watch your fear monger videos as this shit isn’t that bad for most

Give me a break Joe Rogan really lol

Yah after really watching it so much bad info in that one. You would probably have loved it. Funny how you react to that video. But have no interest in the dr from the front lines in Italy.

So you won’t watch a 10 minute video from an Italian Dr on the front lines? Then you claim this isn’t bad for most…

Probably the most ignorant comment on the thread. Clearly you have no understanding of what’s going on.

I’ve listened to what the who and cdc have said and a few other doctors, most of what is coming out is pure bs from the media. Several doctors have said the news media needs to shut up with their comments and only report what the doctors tell them. Fact it affects the old and sick the most, it affects men worse than women or children, most recover without even knowing they had it. Hell I read an article earlier where an 18 month old baby got over it with nothing. I understand the old and immune compromised being worried, they have reason to. All these young healthy people freaking out are only adding to the hysteria. This is only the 10th virus that is supposed to kill us all and I’ll bet you money it won’t be any worse than the other media hyped shit
