I live in a building that is predominantly Asian and everyone is very paranoid. Double wiping down of exercise machines, mask wearing, tissue to press the elevator button kind of thing.

We have at least 1 confirmed case in the state I am in and I donât trust that it hasnât spread out more due to how it can spread before symptoms are even shown in the carrier. Thankfully I live in a small town and it isnât that hard to avoid people if this gets out of hand. Definitely keeping my hands clean and trying to avoid touching places that would be the bug breeding zone. Crazy about the theories about the level 4 lab nearby the Wuhan wet market where they say this originated. I donât trust the Chinese government, or any government really, to give us the truth.
Wishing the best for people who are in the inflicted areas and hoping that their government can deal with this situation and not let it wipe out a lot of weak and older people with compromised immune system responses.

Seems the masks will be more helpful if being worn by the infected to help minimize them coughing out the droplets which can contain the virus into the air, or coughing onto their hands and then spreading it by touching surfaces⌠But since the masks donât provide an air tight seal they wonât stop everything⌠I was reading somewhere that N95 masks may not even filter particulate small enough to stop the virus as well⌠not sure if it was truth.

NEW YORK (AP) â Health officials Thursday reported the first U.S. case of person-to-person spread of the new virus from China.
The individual is married to the Chicago woman who got sick from the virus after she returned from a trip to Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the outbreak. There have been cases reported of the infectious virus spreading to others in a household or workplace in China and elsewhere.
The new case is the sixth reported in the United States. The other five were travelers who developed the illness after returning to the U.S. from China. The latest patient had not been in China.
The Chicago woman, who is in her 60s, returned from central China on Jan. 13, then last week went to a hospital with symptoms and was diagnosed with the viral illness. She and her husband are hospitalized.
Experts have said they expected additional cases, and that at least some limited spread of the disease in the United States was likely. Health officials think the new virus spreads mainly from droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes, similar to how the flu spreads.
