I am pretty confused here? The amount of people who got a seasonal flu, has this shitkicked the number of this Corona. That is according to the CDC…So please…Someone tell me how the numbers prove this Corona is worse than a common Flu?

The flu kills about .1%.
The way the flu acts is known, the way this will act is still being figured out
Covid is still increasing. It’s on the way up.
Think of it like this. If each person gives the flu to 10 other people, it spreads quickly, and then ends quickly. The flu spread faster and fizzled out faster.
COVID spreads slower, maybe each person spreads it to 5 people, but it is slow and steady, and you can give it to people for weeks before you even realize it. Only it’s way more deadly than the flu.
It’s straight up the tortoise and the haire. If people don’t isolate themselves, there’s nothing to stop it from infecting everyone. It just goes slower.

Perhaps I am not worried, because I have already been freaked out about every other thing they said was going to get me…SARS, Ebola, etc…And all of that killed less people than the seasonal flu.

Because India is a pretty polluted place, and a lot of unhealthy people…Not to mention how crowded it is. Russia? Perhaps the Virus can’t live in straight Vodka? IMHO In Canada (sorry) most of the large number of deaths due to the seasonal flu, put NO burden on the healthcare system. In that the large majority who die are either in a rest home and pass without additional response $ or labour spent directly on ‘fighting’ the disease. The remaining non-senior deaths are those who are probably being treated by or residing in “heightened attention” existing medical infrastructure. No pressure=no ‘problem’. We just have to make sure the vulnerable have access to heightened response spending and labour. Panicking (already, unreasonably) causes ,pressure, spikes, and loss of control. The path is the same for any crisis. I didn’t protest having fire drills at school. Why do panickers pick now? They are scaring the kids, who had to be told to be afraid…of a virus? Umm no… by their leader… US. Love you all, hate what some of us do, I believe in WE. No offense to anyone…

Not trying to be provicative here just curious. What would you think if say April 6 this is over and there was never a massive outbreak as predicted? I would feel as if the virus is the product, governments etc. are the marketers and we are the customers. Again i do take this as a serious issue but i like to look at things with at open minded approach.
Yep thinking and hoping the same thing, but Canada is ahead of the game compared to some countries, in NS they are really doing a good job which surprised me lol. So it could be that the lack of infection is from taking it seriously before it became a real problem and dispersed widely amongst the population.
Very true. And also I personally have less stake in the game. Im 29 single live alone and dont make very much money. I understand other people have a lot more to lose.
I agree I think it is going to hit the wealthy harder psychologically, they are not used to having to go without or making choices like eat or turn the heating up.
I am 60 just but fairly healthy just take a low dose blood pressure pill. I am not worried about myself, I think I may have already had it a couple of weeks ago, the symptoms were identical to what is being described, but I am not taking chances with a genetically modified virus, the long term effects are unknown, we could all be zombies in 12 months lol.
