Creating True Breeding Strains By Vic High

Have you heard of this type Dakshinkali?

This describes exactly what you are talking about IMO. Look at latitude vs finish date.

Oh no brother I’m right there with you for sure, it just pisses me off that we have been persecuted and imprisoned for so long and now the ‘government’ just step in a gives the product of all our shared efforts, something they don’t even own, to big corporations who have done exactly nothing but take other people’s work, rip it off and make millions from it. Whenever one of those big canna corporations goes bust I cheer. Fck those thieving scumbags…. Ok rant over lol.

I had a thread over at ICrag back in 2013 called vote no to legalization or else.
They have since deleted it.

I guess freedom of speech is a thing of the past.
If you go against the legaization narrative you get deleted.
I took so much shit just asking for proper legalization.
Real fucking haters calling me all kinds of names, it was crazy.
How dare we speak out against what we see as being wrong in hope of a better tomorrow. :unamused:

Ok, I am done now too…

Yeah imo it’s all a big bait and switch scam, I always felt that the medicinal push was a Trojan horse for big corporations to get control, especially as it’s all set up so the bar for entry is so high that it pretty much excludes small craft growers.
Now the people who worked and suffered because they believe in the plant end up on the bottom of the pile, again. All we can do is overgrow the fkrs till they all go broke.

Maybe this is a wrong observation but when Trump raised tariff fees on Chinese the government received this money? When Biden got elected the inflation rose but was hidden by the pandemic so to speak. The Chinese raise prices we pay more and government gets tariffs.

Then if the government gets more in tariffs and Chinese get more for products; then we got a tax hike via tariffs. I think that is clever if that is what we are observing. I don’t know just watching it like a mass flow diagram?

I know a bit was lost in translation, but the image of Trumpian chineses pushing big pharma in licking the ass of gipsy in ICM was a great moment ^^

My thoughts exactly.

I remember when there was niether medical or recreational in CA, then later on when it was only medicinal in CA with no recreational in sight for a while, I really do believe that time period definitely completely under the table ushered in the soon coming era of recreational legalization.

Big business really saw the opportunity to make some good cash off an industry that wasn’t completely tapped into yet and/or full of corporate competitors yet, and they jumped on it.

Pretty sad that so many smaller craft growers who have worked so hard with this plant for decades are getting absolutely screwed out of even a rather small piece of the pie in this situation.

All we can do is keep sharing genetics to overgrow the world, and also I’ll probably focus a little bit on keeping genetic lines that I grow and experiment with making seeds from aren’t hybridized with the latest hype dessert auto feminized strain that finishes in 45 days from the latest “drop”.

Most “modern” lines I have in seed, I’ll grow out and chop down for smoke without keeping as a momma or using as a mom or dad for seed making.

I’d much rather use my heirlooms, landraces, and my oldest hybrid beans to make seeds from and have a more “pure” line to use as a parent, that way I can much more easily detect his/her influence on the offspring, rather than not knowing where a trait came from which happens often I’d think in polyhybrid x polyhybrid who’s parental lines are polyhybrid x polyhybrid as well.

Maybe that’s just me though, as I know some folks like both heirlooms and old school simpler hybrids, but also enjoy some of the newer polyhybrid guesswork pollen chucked gear with known cuts and a single stud or a couple studs if that.

I feel like it’s only a very short matter of time (with the way this industry is going completely to the shitter besides my awesome OG family) before it’s really not that common to have anything worked, IBL, or true-breeding.

So many people are pollen-chucking and calling themselves breeders, doing very little selection of parental lines, and really just guessing at what females and males might combine well to make a good offspring, but why reinvent the wheel in the case of an already known mom, or just piss into the gene pool of a good line with guesswork unknowingly, and then circulate it at the price of known lines, that way other growers can try out your guesswork and hope it’s sexually stable, consistent, and good to grow both environmentally and effects-wise. Haha which might cost them months of labor, electricity, and precious time.

Greed, shortcuts, and laziness are partially how we got here. Mainly greed. So that’s why we need to keep doing what we do to spread genetics and good herb around without the goal being just a get rich quick scheme. I have multiple friends who have told me in the past that I’m very stupid for sharing seeds, buds, clones, and pollen, without charging for them at least the standard price in our area (I live in Florida) but to me, it’s not at all about making any money. It’s about growing the very best cannabis I possibly can as this plant has given me my life back after countless physical injuries, opiate addiction, and even my Asperger’s syndrome with co-occurring other mental health issues.

I expect some people on here probably think I’m batshit crazy for saying this, and may completely disagree, but I think some folks on here would understand where I’m coming from with this, and know why I’m saying this.

Sorry in advance if people think this is de-railing the thread, and heading in the off-topic direction. I thought it was kind of related as far as the true breeding heirlooms and polyhybrid guesswork and similar related topics that I mentioned above.

Sorry for the book length too lol.

Happy Growing and Peace!

@shag or shaggyballs has stirred up controversy all over, in fact I remember quoting something from you a few years ago and the guy said if you like that POS I want nothing to do with you and promptly ghosted me. But when a second person called him bonkers I was like huh? So I scoured the inter webs and found you were calling shit out way back! Loved it, we were acquaintances then, now great friends. Love ya brother

The hate is real, I get death threats for expressing my thoughts.
What a world we live in today.

Some folks are just plain afraid to look up and really see things for themselves.
They would rather believe what they are told is the absolute truth.
Folks don’t like it one bit when you inform them there may be errors in their thought process.
This movie make a very good point, it also shows us how messed up we are as a people.
Don’t look up.

Yezzir, sounds about right. It’s crazy how many people are happy in their little bubble of blindness and so be it, my eyes were opened long ago.

That movie really hits the bs of the times.

Then 1/50 is 2% and 1/300 is 0.3% then maybe 2% requires 2 crossover loci and 1/300 would be three or possibly 4 crossover loci? No hard and fast rule on how many locations the chromosome can exchange but the frequency or number of occurrences would dictate that percentages drop as the number of loci crossing over increases.

I think i’ve committed the first true breeding meme ^^

In layman’s terms, breeding for money and no real involvement in anything truly pioneering for a mass audience to enjoy…moneys everything…and bullshit follows along every so quietly in the background…bless em

Yeah went from “shit, you can make money off of this” to “you can make money off of shit”

Subtle but noticeable difference

Yes by growing enough numbers and keeping track of mutants, not the garden variety hay that is thrown 50+++ % of the time!

It’s a highly segregative meme.
