I’m thinking I’ll get some NL5… hmmm
Was great to learn that the NL #'s are just plant size… the 11 must’ve been nuts

I’m a huge fan of Bob and C&C seeds
I met him a few times at Emerald Cup. He gave me a grab of Chem 91 Sk VA buds and that was one of the most spiritual episodes with cannabis I’ve ever had.
Unfortunately, I lost all the seeds he hooked me up with in a fire. But what I had grown out was epic.
Im pretty sure he was part of the M10 project, which included Chem101 (Chem 91 Sk Va x M10). If anyone comes across that one, I highly recommend it
Honestly, one of my favorite memories of Emerald Cup was hanging with Mr. Bob, Bodhi, and a few other preservationist breeders next to the SeedsHereNow booth while we passed out free seeds and buds to anyone who would stop to talk to us. The juxtaposition of freeing the plant right next to those selling the plant was an epic experience for me.
what? That’s a first for me hearing that. I’ve always read it’s outcrosses. How far away from Steve Murphy’s Afghani they are.
The higher the number …the more sativa in it
I’d never heard that either but Bob just mentioned it on the latest Potcast, #5 was what Nevil chose to work mostly with because it fell in the middle of the pack. The history and infamousy of cannabis lines is a never ending journey.
I had no idea they went to 11
Oh interesting, I’ll go check that out, thanks!!
I know Nevil said the specific nl5 he kept and bred with was the only pheno like it out of all the nl5 beans he ran and that’s why he chose to use it. If anyone else got the same beans, likely hard pressed to find the same pheno Nevil picked out.
Unsure on the middle of the pack aspect I know most people that tried all or most of the NL’s usually came back saying nl5 was the best overall. Time for more research!
I had numerous people on Insta message me about f2s or cuttings
I plan on sharing cuts and f2s so some of those who missed out get a chance.
I’ll make a post when they are available.
Much love folks
Pretty rad indeed
@HolyAngel THATS THE ONE!! Thank you!! Hahaha. I totally agree, bobs preservation work deserves its own preservation!
@CoastalgrownBC there will be a lot grateful heads here if you do my friend! Wish you success in your efforts regardless!
Have you explored the agseedco story catalog on NL? FYI BOGO too
Better to send $ to bob IMO
Do you have his contact details? Pm me mate
Be great if @Great_lakes_Genetics offered their packs! Glg is the best
Just got around to listening to the potcast breeder awards, congrats to Bob and Hannah, well deserved for all thier good work!
Yeah I’ve seen that before but I have to take it with a grain of salt. Along with anything Greg says as both their stories contradict a lot of things Nevil and his close friends have said over the years.
Like Greg didn’t send Nevil/The Seedbank #1-11 until after he already sent Nevil Northern Lites (note the spelling and no numbers). Nevil hit it with his Mazar-I-Sharif and sent it back to Greg as Northern Lights #1. Greg never bred anything. His buddies did all the work. A few years later Greg sent Nevil #1-11. Nevil only kept 1, 2, and 5 as the rest were deemed too unstable. The NL5 pheno Nevil picked was the only BLD type of all the NL5 beans he ran.
Most of this info can be found on MNS and ICMag.
That being said, I did already buy a few packs from Todd
To be more on topic, Bob’s NL1 x Puck should be kind of like a NL1 backcross. Nevil said the PNWHP x NL1 was the strongest(narcotic) herb he’d ever had, and that’s what Puck started out as.
I’m pretty sure his stuff is on seedsherenow.com but I don’t have no info
I scooped up a pack of 88g13HP x Puck BC1 that I’m definitely going to F2 the absolute SHIT out of.
It was the only pack I could get my hands on. That shit sold like crazy hot cakes. Had to try at least one of those Puck back crosses since I missed that last drop. Absolutely loved listening to that Breeder Awards Potcast. Sounds like Bob and Hannaboldt have some amazing projects in the works!
When I got the Hawaiian from a BOEL chemist, Greg hit me up to tell me what I had (that its the sativa that his BOEL contact in Hawaii outcrossed to his NL to make NL5)
Greg told me there was the original NL (no numbers) which his crew made with a few Afghans. Then, NL got outcrossed to different lines to make the numbered NL lines.
He said NL1 is Skunk(Mazar) x NL. NL2 is Hindu Kush x NL. So on and so on for the rest of the numbered lines.
He also reiterated to me the story of how Nevil, and others, tried to backdoor him through nDn guy. But Greg said nDn guy didn’t have Greg’s trust (nDn guy wasn’t a veteran but his son was, and other reasons) so he never got the pure lines, only crosses, but nDn guy didnt know that so he sold them while labeling them as pure. As such, the clone Nevil got that was labeled NL5 was really NL5 x NL2. Nevil said he eventually got the pure NL5, Greg said Nevil never did. To understand the truth, it would require talking about substance abuse problems and other histories of not being honest about lineage (like using Mullum line without exposing that truth) which I dont feel like doing.
The pure NL5 clone is still around, but its called Pez since everyone and their mother has an NL5 cut thats actually NL5xNL2. Pez was going around on a Washington forum that went through a couple name changes since I was on, and subsequently booted from, there
If you look at Pez, its much more sativa than the NL5xNL2 thats called NL5
Unfortunately, it seems Greg tells different people different stories depending on how he feels about them.
Having read Tom’s article on his business page at agseedco, it looks like its reiterating what Nevil said on the forums and not what Greg told specific people that are in the veteran community.
Honestly, I had no interest in NL because my experience with it was likely the NL2 hybrid and was too narcotic for me. I only got into its history when I was one of 5 to get genetics from an old BOEL chemist and Greg hit me up to tell me its the old Hawaiian. So, not my pig, not my farm.
