5150 x TK, day 53
Starting to flush
It’s a trainwreck in there, so many heavy heavy nugs with dank and delicate smells

Great job! Looks just like it used to when we were getting flower from Oregon. Lotta purple and orange.

What kind of smells did you get from these ladies? Were they really loud?

I am not sure what you mean by the term “loud” but smells were mostly a mix of a barnyard smell to a sweet lemon/lime. Almost like a sprite or squirt soda smell.

I made a cross with HL pollen and the new cross carried over that sweet lemon/lime soda smell.

Loud in this case meaning odor that’s hard to contain, i.e., something your neighbors could identify as cannabis.

Thank you for explaining that! I dont believe it was loud but did have some smell to it.

Slightly off topic but I saw a few people here mention herms in Chem 91 hybrids, especially balls on the lowers.

I haven’t grown any CSI Chem 91 work but I have grown lots of Chem 91 hybrids and yes I find balls on lots of those plants.

My question is, does the Chem 91 cut itself throw balls or just her hybrids?

Reason I ask is because I vaguely remember Notsodog in a podcast talking about how the Chem D throws sterile nanners but the Chem 91 is solid and doesn’t herm.

To me this goes against everything else I’ve heard about the Chem 91 being super picky/finicky and especially with the hybrids throwing balls, etc.

It also begs the questions, if the real Chem 91 doesn’t herm, but her S1s and hybrids do herm, and I get a cut called Chem 91 that herms, then it’s probably an S1?

I haven’t been able to get to a grow but after popping a seed of CSI’s with some others from different people, I have to say I have always appreciated how easy CSI’s seeds are to germ and the ease of the seeds being feminized makes growing a breeze.

From what i know it’s a trait of it and known to in late flowering.

I have never found a seed in 2 years running the 91 skva cut, i made s1 and a cross and both have had a small percentage of herms.

FWIW i found a single seed in 91 i bought directly from SkunkVA as well.

Keep in mind, they say Chemdog was a herm.

Most likely was the case, all the lines were hermie seeds.

Yup. Wouldn’t be any chemdog without that first herm way back. I have some csi chemdogs goin now and have been working overtime to keep the balls and nanners at bay. The Big Bad wolf does it too. Its the D crossed with the 91 or the other way around I can’t remember. Definitely herm traits in all of em. Good smoke buts theres always at least a seed or two. I have one bbw that hasn’t shown anything yet(week 4ish) so keeping my fingers crossed.

The big bad wolf looks killer, i’d probably go insane if i were on nanner watch. Sadly some don’t throw nanners till late flowering.

Yeah I’m pretty much over “nanner watch”. Probably gonna phase out the chem genetics for a while after these finish. Explore some new/ different stuff.
