Sour Diesel is a notorious hermie… The Riri cut that is used in Karma’s gear, is very prone to herm and ever single seedline I’ve ran made with the Riri have had herms in them…
If you’re running chems, especially pure, bxed or selfed. Expect herms! That’s just how it is.

I really cannot understand, that one guy that held the Silver Pearl around for 30 years as a clone, is growing the “new” stuff, i dont understand why he doesnt grow the silver pearl?

Different phenos and such, i really like it… but 17 plants now in my small 3x3 so every plant will just give 30g or so.

Using a outcross is quote effective to remove herms in the first generation. You will notice herm popping up in the F2s though. As I said, the Chem x Chem crosses, or BXs, or selfed is where you should keep you eyes out for nanners and balls

I’ve run the karma sours and a Riri BX1 from France that I got in a trade on icmag.
All had hermies in them, but you always found som great herm free phenos as well!

You didn’t read the plausible explanation I gave several times. Use the search function. I’ve typed it at least four times😂 The current owner was not the safekeeper. Not gonna type the same again. Maybe later when I’m on a laptop.
In short, the safekeeper is too old, the current grower grows it for him so he can still smoke his favourite.
Is it one of those funky SP? Or is it in the sweet fruit category pheno?

Possibly, it has to be grown and proven first. Got the 4 cuts for a week now so next week it’s soil time. Than I’ll take more cuts and grow one for myself. The rest has to go. Someone has to keep it alive but not me.
I love to have it and I’ll probably keep one for a while but I’m more enthusiastic about good haze to be honest. It’s just a “youth” memory. Skunk2 is way more important for me, but real haze tops everything for me.
Haven’t tried it yet. A grower I know has it and I got some cuts. No real news untill smoking it in probably november.
I only remember sweet buds full of trichomes, shiny. The rest for me is a mystery because it was something like 30 yrs ago.

In the first release there were multiple types of phenos, not only the sweet thing we have all enjoyed in dam. Supposedly, The White is a SP pheno and there is also other more funky stuff with no sweetness. I would love to be able to try any SP that isn’t sweet fruity

Never had that one. In the 80’s as teenagers we didn’t even know what Shanti was… we just got blown away by all the pictures. The weed we got was whatever the shop or a friend had and i’m sure they knew nothing about pheno’s etc yet. That came later. I only know that I liked it, but I loved Skunk 2.
I only smoked Silver Pearl for a short time, my brother in law back than gave me something that I had to check out. I was into Red Hair. In those years I only went to Amsterdam for graffiti. The shops were for tourists, same with the hooker crap. When I was in A’dam I was hardly ever in the city center… mostly in bad neighbourhoods.
Dont know about other sp cuts but it was like you describe sweet and full of trichomes weed.perfect buds.it was very good and tasty. More than 20years ago. If you one day have a snip over, i would I would be very grateful. Its a nostalgic thing for me…
You guys will eventually get them all. For me it is cool but not something I want to waste grow capacity on too much. I have too much other stuff I still need to grow. It would be cool if someone can keep it alive somewhere.

nah, sorry … the chemdog-pheno sannie selected from seed via mota
(same as esko used, but a different selection) hermed bigtime in the
“extrema”, which was the reason for pulling the line from teh shop (regs
and fems) that was around 2013.
“chemdog” in general is known to have intersexed expressions
in all celebrity clones and their offspring. it’s not impossible to
find plants free of that, but it requires a lot of patience and work.
it’s sad but true, but the herms from most clone onlys nowadays are
not intented to be in there (lol) … it indeed comes purely by accident.
