yes, while things happen, the 2 ‘unreasonables’ to me were:
-having my order being in processing for a week+, with nary a word about the order status during that timeframe
-when some sort of word finally comes through, it’s to notify me that what they had 8 in stock of a week ago, when the order was paid for, is no longer available.
simple solution (for future customers):
—contact the customer promptly when an order is processing and something is discovered to be out of stock. don’t wait a full week until the stock goes from “8 in stock” to zero to contact the customer about the long processing timeframe.
it’s not like July 4th on a Friday is the same as “post Christmas-NYE” week.
OR, if I was told on the Monday/Tuesday following the long weekend what was going on, I surely wouldn’t have been posting about it here.

I mean, heck, I got my order in the night of the 3rd…prior to most people waking up to see the sale email. I should have been at the beginning of the order queue, by paying in full when the order was placed…not the “we’ll get back to him a week later” queue.
I’m a reasonable person, but this entire 2nd exchange, to me, came across as rather unreasonable for the reasons stated above.
the one positive in all this is that in my looking around while making my OG post last night, I finally discovered a local breeder of seeds, first time I’ve ever heard of him. (and I’ve been here over 50 years)
200++ strains to choose from, ALL “old school” heirloom stuff instead of the “cookies/haze” craze of the last 20 years…AND a fat discount for ‘locals’ (Alaskans)
or, if I get some MTF and Vintage Blueberry and A1 from him…they’re gonna be the real deal, no questions asked.
just wanted to throw my 2 experiences out there and emphasize/reiterate that I don’t think the DCSE folks are bad people…just that the 2 experiences both had hiccups (the first one minor through no fault of theirs, the second one a bit more avoidable), and that the 2nd one pretty much made me feel like my business doesn’t matter to them.
or, if I placed a 3rd order, would it be a month before I was told 3 of the 6 I ordered are ‘not in stock, would you like something else’?
that’s all I was trying to say…nothing less, nothing more.
