Dendro's Outdoor Grow 2022

It took a while to realize I belong right where I am. I criss-crossed the country and even the world (spending the majority of my 20s outside the USA was a goal, which I met). My wandering spanned 4 continents and a good portion of the USA.
I went north of the Arctic Circle, south of the Equator, across the International Date Line and even to Mesopotamia, only to settle a few hours from where I grew up.

That sounds familiar though I have a feeling you actually remember alot of your travels. Traveling the world in your 20s has got to be a very grand adventure! I was so young for most of the international moves that I wasnt even aware of what was going on until I got older and realized most people did not move around every few years.
As I got older, I just couldn’t stay in one place but yes, like you, I eventually ended up back at the one place that I had lived the longest, and where I live now, finally feels like home.
:beers:

What’s interesting is that Georgia is where my ancestors settled when they first crossed the Atlantic. The first time I spent any time in rural Georgia, the appeal became obvious. Georgia reminds me of Arkansas (where I grew up), but everything here seems bigger and better, and the winters here are nowhere near as brutal as they can be in Arkansas.

Wow man, thats really amazing that your ancestors settled there long ago and then after everything you’ve been through, your own life and the roads you traveled eventually led to the same area. If thats not synchronization, I dont know what is!
And as I also happen to have lived in or close to both areas, Georgia would probably be my pick too. The mountains in Arkansas are truly incredible though and some of those little towns up there are really unique, artistic old school village type places that you only read about in books and magazine articles, but Im sure Georgia has its fair share of secret eclectic huants to explore. Well, tbh, Im sure every single country, city, state, or province has at least one rare gem to be found. Your last sentence says it all though, in the end, the weather should and does play a big role in where one chooses to live. It decides so many factors in life.

Here is Baumead and the Snowfire Kush, taken yesterday…coming over for the shoot…

Thats right, work with me buddy…

Got it! Man, he’s such an amazing Dude! Honestly, he doesn’t like the camera but I think he knew this was it. Shes coming down, the rest of her at least, over the next week. The last of the OD. We’re supposed to have one last nice week of weather and Im pushing whats left to the limit, wherever that is. She has gotten denser than dense and really starting to shine a nice bit beneath those beat up fan leaves.

Oh and here are a few of the current inside babys, about 9 days old here…

Hope everyone is having a good week, all the OG Family

Just top dressed some insect frass and bat guano yesterday, plants should be ready to flip in another two to three weeks, hopefully. Should probably start a new thread for them, just feelin lazy from this depressing fall weather and as long as the Snowfire is still up, Im just gonna sneak em in here…

Hope all is well, enjoying the stash over there? Got a clear fave?

Definitely been relaxing and taking it easy over here, well, been working on compost and such, all the leaves around here add up to good stuff in the end. But yeah, mostly just enjoying the summers hard work and chillin out.
Cheers Brother! :beers:

Thanks man, Im thinking, if I just pull them outside every week or so for a quick photo shoot, it will still count as outdoor? Lol, Im actually taking down my last OD plant today.

Everything good on your end brother? Hope all is well and sticky!

Oh yeah, Ive seen! Master of your craft. Got skills bro!

Feels so good to, for better or worse, to have everything wrapped up and properly stored. Ive still got about a half pound out there but since so much is already in the freezer in hash form or in jars and grove bags as well, Im just not stressing it but Ive learned that leason before, got to get after it!
Got a favorite? I know you love your IB but is she callin your name the loudest?

What’s your favorite of the OD beasts? Any nugs to smoke or just hash from those?

I’ve been mostly reaching for the Hella Jelly and the Snow-G. For a while it was the Super Lemon Haze, and Black Domina (SAD). The Hawaiian Snow is good too - that one reminds me of the old days for some reason. Maybe there’s some Mexican in there, it takes me back to high school with compressed weed. Not in the wrong way of course, it definately smells, feels and tastes better than brick, but damn if it doesn’t take me back there with some twinge of the taste. Fun memories. $40/oz and $120 qps with tons of seeds (early 2000s). I guess of the bunch, it smells the most like classic “weed,” especially the smoke which has a little bit of spicy in it. Still waiting on the Dragon’s Hashplant to cure up, but looking forward to that in a week or two. The Avenue of the Giants is great smoke now that the odors have matured but I prefer the Snow-G it feels just a little more “positive energy” than the Avenue. I really love the fruit terps of the Hella Jelly, musky gas of the Snow-G, the citrusy Super Lemon Haze and the piney/citrus/christmas-tree Black Domina.

The Runtz XL and the Critical Kush will probably go unsmoked if I’m being honest. Luckily, there are lots of people that aren’t as snooty as me that would gladly take it and enjoy. I’ve got several pounds of less-than-perfect dry Dragon’s Hashplant and Hawiian Snow to bubble when I get some free time, which has been in short supply. I washed/dried/cured only the best nugs to smoke as flower because those things were just monsters…too much weed for their own good. Figured the rest gets hashed, seems to be what all the cool kids do. I’ve got several grams of dry sift just from trimming of those two.

Next season, thanks to @ColeLennon I’m going to be running FDM Bubblegum. I may also run a Blueberry, but haven’t decided on a specific one. Kinda waiting to see how the Blueberry Thunderdome results come in. There’s a Snow High Blueberry Blast he loves, as well as a Blueberry Muffin. I need to go check in on that thread, haven’t been online much the last few weeks.

God, what a ramble. Back in action

I tell you what that humbolt seed co Blueberry muffin I ran next to the Indiana bubblegum is the best grow of this year. @FieldEffect based on ease of growth, size and colas longer than my legs. "slight exaggeration but serious stalks of dripping crystally goo. Yield Massive, dried blue and curing a couple weeks its sticky and tastes incredible. The dried scent is off the hook. The 80/20 Indica stone is powerful not overwhelming sits right behind your eyes and doesn’t couchlock. The only thing that might stop me from running it next year is “I got 2 lbs. of it” lol :sunglasses: :metal: :metal: :metal: :metal: :peace_symbol:

Back in action indeed! Awesome ramble/write up man, I can relate to alot of what your saying and those descriptions set me off :grinning:

The old-school savory/spicy/floral bud thats rich in flavor and packs a punch is the Don Johnson to a tee. She is definitely fulfilling the need to reminisce yet Im mostly using her for edibles and bubble batches, same as the Snowfire, since both were tainted with the pm, but after treatment, washing, drying and curing, I honestly wouldnt be able to tell if I didnt already know but the truth hurts so yeah, both of those girls are more or less fully designated for long term storage in the form of bubble and bags of dryed flower stored in the freezer for a rainy day.

The Snowfire hash is actually really really great. Full bubble and bigger yeilds than Im used to. The flower looks like shit at first glance tbh but in my book, trichs are trichs, and inside, she is super packed, dense and shiny, Im not sure what kept the mold back on her so well, I really thought she’d be filled with it and ruined weeks ago but aside from a few fans with a few spots, she’s fought it off very well. I actually just now finished washing and wet trimming two more full layers on the mesh drying rack, Im not sure if Ill be able to get to all of her in time, have had alot of other work to do lately but Im sure gonna try again in a few day. I see it as bank weed, the more in the bank, the more experiments and risks I can take on my current and future grows.

So other than the tainted weed, which I personally am finding is not nearly as bad as I thought it was, I certainly am taking precautions to avoid future outbreaks but I really have a different view on how to deal with PM in the garden. I really recommend regalia to anyone who has had this pesky problem or would like to avoid it. Well, its definitely not all doom and gloom around here, we do have a few jars of indoor and some of the outdoor containers that did not ever become visibly infected. Even after what I just said about the pm bud not really being any different, its very hard to unknow something so those few untainted jars are getting wrecked, lol, I can see why @ColeLennon is such a BBM fan, Ive only tried the true bbm once and it was really that memorable that since I love me some banana terps so much, once I saw the Blueberry Muffins crossed with Banana OG and not to mention, for 50 bucks at a pack of twelve and 6 Banana og f4 freebies? The rest is recent history and the Banana Berry Muffins, BBM x ECK, and Gorilla Hammer are all primo looking and tasting. I think there are just a few nugs of the BBM left, that bud is so good, smooth and sweet and the BBM x El Chemi Kiwi is also really tasty. Im probably being biased but I do wish I could share some with you and the crew here, they both have a very unique profile. Confusing. Sweet and sour but the Don Johnson is sorta like that too, just different terps, it just hits you in the face and despite the pm, I’ll pack a bowl and its like a chocolaty/leather/coffee mix coated in skunk oil, its greasy and yeah, I enjoy that shit! Mmmm…weed, its literally whats for dinner.

In all truth, all this medicine is alittle much, no one needs this much weed but at this point, growing it is the real enthusiasm for me. And speaking of growing it… not sure about this yet but I thought you’d find this interesting, to my surprise, I noticed today, one of the new plants in the tent, all of them being photo x auto f1, is already showing sex, still too early to make a confident determination of the sex but the plants are only three weeks old and on an 18/6 cycle so Im keeping a close eye on it. Of course, my phone is full again and can not take photos but I’ll try and clear that up soon. Maybe Im just seeing things but Ill know for sure in a day or two. If it is somehow expressing auto, I would think that I hope it a male, it should make this little project alot easier, I like to “let” nature have as much a say as possible, go with the flow, so we shall see. I definitely wasn’t expecting to see any signs of sex yet but Im not totally surprised, a lot of possible explanations here. It is one of the Banana Og x Strawba the Hutt, Im fairly certain that the Banana og is indeed the father as I see the same mile long petiols and lateral branching as the dad. The Fiona’s Chem Cake male gave the offspring huge heart shaped leaves with much shorter leaf stems and internodes…Oh jeeze, how long have we been here?

Wow, these ramblings sure are contagious! Anyway, thanks for the random ramble brother, sure got my rambling juices flowing again. I’ll give us all a nice rest, got to be time for a smoke and dont mind if I do!
I wish you, your fam, and the whole crew here a very good one, aye, and Dont forget to vote yall! :v::heart:

I know what you are saying with that, if you know there was a problem, even if it was fixed, it isn’t the same as something that went perfect. My Hawaiian Snow and Dragon’s Hashplant were the same. They got so big it was hard to take care of them like the smaller ones. Next season I plan to train a smaller number of plants better to make it easier to get to them and minimize my bug/rain issues. Although, here, my rain issues were very unusual. It was just a fluke of a season.

Glad things wound up well for you. And me too. We both had our little freak outs.

I don’t have as much time to ramble this morning, but interesting you are seeing sex on your homebrew “fast” strains. If I try any breeding this season, it will be crossing an auto to a photo. There aren’t many legit “fast” strains available but damn that was a highlight of the season for me.

Have a great day!

Yeah man, its a process but it always pays off in the end. I have learned more from you and others on this site this year than any season before. I think we get what we give and everyone gives so much around here that its hard not to succeed as long as we keep on growing, we keep on growing!

Getting ready for the next season or grow is a ritual in itself and being prepared makes all the difference, applying what we learned the previous grow and seeing the results is so satisfying.

Definitely looking forward to another season but its nice to chill, and yeah man, very happy we both had a good year, the freakouts come and go for me, Im kind of used to it and I do try to learn from my mistakes but always ready for the next catastrophe to occur. For now, we’ll just keep our jars and freezers full and that seems to lighten the effects of new problems.

Thats good to hear your breeding/chucking bean has sprouted…you know I’ll be interested in what you plan on doing and thank you for all and any imput on my current experiment. I’ll have to go check if I can see any difference today. Ill keep ya posted. Have a good one too brother!

Wow, these little ones are getting to be bigger ones…fast indeed

And this is the Snowfire kush getting frosty under her ragged top, I need to find some Virginians who aren’t too picky and would like some free flower.

Happy Growing and Happy Harvesting
