congrats.
being nervous is normal. it’s a big, but very wonderful step in life. and very much worth it.

if it’s any consolation, i’m mid 50’s mrs.v is 49. my 3rd child, her 1st. due in april.

might i suggest a good book for you both? i think it will help answer many of the questions in your head(s). read it together and discuss. it helps.

truth. patience is a necessity with kids. they will test yours. daily.
but still. greatest most wonderful life-changing event you will ever experience. it is the meaning of life.

Congratulations @DietPeps having a baby is something else. I was lucky enough to have one boy. I consider it my best achievement and day he was born the best day of my life. They grow up so fast. One regret I have was having to work a lot an missed time watching him grow up those first few years are amazing how quickly they advance.

Congratulations, @DietPeps! Children do indeed change your life. :+1:

And, in fact, my son is coming down from Portland tomorrow for a few days. He may be older than @blowdout2269,, but he’s still my boy and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love him! He’s 51.

Family is the really good stuff!!

Wow. This outpouring of support is just what I needed. To hear about you guys who I relate to so much and your stories give me a lot more confidence.

Im finding that happiness is starting to peak through the nervousness sometimes, because of these pep talks. Thank you.

I will definitely order that book. I seem to remember an ancient version of that same book in my mom’s library when I was growing up. And yeah, they were the best parents I could have had growing up.

I’m kind of thinking this is how I’m going to see it when I look back on this. I’ve really accomplished pretty much everything else I wanted in life, but this is something I really wanted. So shocking now that it’s happening though. Luckily, my job will afford me to spend quite a bit of time with my child. I’m home from work everyday by 4:00 pm at the very latest, and there are pretty much no overtime opportunities. The challenge will be that Mrs Peps and I work the same schedule. We’ll see how that goes.

I can hear the love for your family in your words, even though I’m just reading them. I come from a close, loving family, and I know my parents are going to be the most overjoyed of all. They are both in their 80’s, and this will be their first grandchild.

I’m starting to realize that I should be proud of myself.

Edit’ @Til_Valhalla yes that is much consolation. Thanks for sharing.

For some reason, I missed some posts this morning! Glad I see @Knifeman and @blowdout2269 ‘s posts before work.

Thanks so much brother. Our experience is similar in ways. This is the plan I really wanted anyways, maybe jus but ten years later than I thought.

I’m pretty sure our baby was conceived on the day I bought her a very nice and meaningful gift

Hi Friends

I spent the last couple days catching up on sleep, doing housework, and stuff. Starting to feel a little more normal.

I want to take this thread back to genetics and growing, so I did want to tell you guys about something else that @BasementGardens, @Weednerd.Anthony, and I are cooking up. You’ve probably heard us mention it.

HGNW Medicinal Preservations

Homegrown Natural Wonders (HGNW) did some very significant work with cannabinoids other than THC. Most of these use a specially selected Timewreck male from Subcool, and the genetics were released under the TGA umbrella. These strains included Sonic Screwdriver, Dr Who, Tardis, and the heavy-hitter Quantum Kush.

Thsee strains contain THC, CBD, CBN, THCv, and other cannabinoids that I can’t remember in their finished flowers, in various proportions. Tardis, the strain I have the most familiarity with, reliably relieved my headaches and soothed all body pains while I was quitting drinking alcohol. Other people reliably swore by all of these crosses.

We have a limited supply of all four of these, plus Frost Boss and The Eleven, which all use the medicinal Timewreck father. We are not sure if Odie Diesel from HGNW or his sons plan to release these again in the future. Still, as the beans are over a decade old, we have decided to preserve at least the four key crosses and keep them in our personal vaults. They will be available for medical use, but, otherwise, the three of us will hold them in our personal collections to preserve the genetics, as well as the economic value for Odie and his family.

On a related note, all mail went out a few days late, this past Friday. Anyone expecting anything from me will get it next week. @BasementGardens i will check the receipt but I think yours arrives via priority on Wednesday.

And after a week of smoking mostly “thca flower” I definitely think it’s just regular flower. The “Chemdawg” and Sour Diesel were excellent. The white widow is really nice, but it’s just blando. The quality from “Bay Smokes” is like top shelf dispensary and the sacks from “The Dopest” were dried up smalls, but still pretty good smoke. Ordered some more. Fits in well with a busy schedule.

Like 8 hours after their first Canna feeding, my plants all look remarkably healthier.

I’ve had quantum kush and it was not that good at all.

Never had it myself, but there’s been a cut going around for about a decade now :man_shrugging:t2:

Did you grow it out or smoke it from someone else ? Just wondering because I’ve heard mixed reviews myself on HGNW quantum kush

I bought a half oz of it from the dispo and it was so bad that I’ll never forget.

The Golden Tiger male is starting to drop pollen. Hopefully I get at least a few seeds out of that.

Spring boat race is about ready to go. 10 Wolf park f2 and 3 purple satellite fems going in the back yard with flower nutes and some extra p k. Still feels like I’ve got some more rain and wind ahead though.

Will probably get Sour D #51 x DLA 5 seedlings sex tested, so I can flower them in the cabinet where the Golden Tiger project is and collect the pollen. I’ve decided that the sour d clone I bought needs to have some cuts taken before seeding. I paid a nice amount for that clone, and to use it just for one pollen Chuck seems wasteful, especially now that I realize how much I like to smoke sour. I’m going to try to keep the clone for a while.

Summer run is a little up in the air. I have a feeling that Mrs Peps isn’t going to want all those plants in the backyard this summer. And she’s always run the roost. :man_shrugging:t2:

Got a few days off work. Still a lot to take care of, but man I needed this.
