What’s that safe stuff run you? I swear the hot water at my place smells like a water park, and I’ve somehow never tried this type of product

Super cheap man, those aquarium people know what they’re doing! I learned about the stuff from @vernal and @HolyAngel on here.

I haven’t either, and my plants have been doing ok with the local water system’s unfiltered tap, but we also have great water here for the most part. My small city of 35k people has its own water district and uses mostly groundwater coming down the foothills of the mountain range that we’re the river valley of. About 1/4 of the acreage of the city and parts of other nearby towns are owned by the city water district and they have a few reservoirs and water tanks up on hills. Another quarter of the town is held by the City’s Conservation Commission and mostly brackets the watershed. So it’s pretty clean overall. It’s pretty low PPM I don’t check it much but it comes out somewhere 50-100 usually. Some of the surrounding towns are very different, one taps a very pure aquifer and is becoming known as a good town for brewing beer because of that super clean and crisp water, and a bunch just use wells and they’re kinda a crapshoot between good and mineral murky.

I looked at bubbling water in a reservoir or getting an inline filter for my basement sink, and this ended up being the cheapest easiest option by far, I think we use chloramines locally in small amounts but primarily ozone/UV sterilization at the water plant, the chloramines are just for transport through the system downstream from there. I’m excited to see if I have a real noticeable boost in soil and plant health as a result.

I figured it was worth doing now because I’m spending money on bennies to add to the yard or so of soil I keep recycling and building, I might as well try to not kill them off, right?

Just used the Photosynthesis Plus which is PSB/PSNB and holy hell does it smell! Super pungent odor that reminds me of the swamps and ponds of where I grew up but concentrated, it’s familiar for sure! Hope the plants love it!

Some info on the stuff I dug up, they have a great website. I already use their Microbe-Lift BMC for a BTI inoculation product, seems to be a company that isn’t up charging very much, the prices are good to me and it’s made in the USA.

@HeadyBearAdventures I keep meaning to try it because it seems solid and no bullshit, I know I can culture PSB/PSNB easily enough but my partner is anti-fermenting things we don’t eat in the house hahahaha
