Chegou aqui as conexões de tubo 20mm para a minha tenda. Queria saber como vocês dão mais rigidez. Vocês enchem os tubos de areia para ficar mais firme a estrutura?
The 20mm pipe connections for my tent arrived. I’d like to know how you guys add more rigidity. Do you fill the pipes with sand to make the structure more stable?
The verticals are under compressive load, especially if you are hanging lights, filter etc.
Regular PVC pipe (schedule 40) will probably need some horizontal supports about half way up to stiffen up the structure. There is a ‘unplasticized’ version of PVC pipe (PVC-U) that would be a better choice (if you can find it)…

3 Way Corner 20mm PVC : Pack of 10 - R$69,81 (shopee)
Simple T 20mm connections: Pack of 12 - R$9,00 (local store)
Straight 20mm Tubing (each rod is 6 meters): Pack of 4 rods - R$64,00 (local store)
Total: R$141,81(aprox. 25usd)
Now It is time to starting building the base structure and start searching for a reflective material to use for the inside and some light fabric that can block light from outside.
I will come back to this list updating you guys when I bought more material to finish this build.
I tried looking for those before buying the PCV material, but unfortunately very expensive here in brazil and I also couldn’t find any left overs.

Eu faria de madeira se precisasse fazer alguma, mas recomendaria voce pensar bem em todos os custos, no fim de tudo nao vai ser tão mais barato qto voce imagina e o produto final vai apresentar mais falhas e dificuldades do que voce está esperando.
I would make it out of wood if I needed to make one, but I would recommend that you think carefully about all the costs, in the end it won’t be as cheap as you imagine and the final product will present more flaws and difficulties than you are expecting.
Irmão só alguns detalhes, quanto maior e mais largo, ele vai precisar de mais apoios laterais e por cima, o cano que ele escolheu é muito fino e depdendo da altura ele perde a sustentação, a estrutura do grow que geralmente é de metal, é feita justamente pra você também além de aguentar o peso da tenda em si ainda vai o peso dos leds, e exaustor filtro de carvão caso và
Depois tem que mandar a lona grossa pra costureira e ela precisa conseguir encaixar ela certinho a ponto de não ficar mole e sobrando um monte de tecido nas laterais quando faz uma pressão negativa , perdendo assim espaço interno no grow
Depedendo da lona ser financiado vai vazar luz pelo grow todo, igual aquelas sapateiras vagabundas , e ela precisa acertar nas entradas e saídas de ar
Um grow montado de PVC de 80x80x160 já fica todo molengo , esse grandão aí
Só uns detalhes, mas como você está morando eu indicaria fazer com os ferros, no mínimo da grossura dos gazebos de praia ou camping, pra não dizer mais grossos
Confia no processo! Pai é brabo na gambiarra. Eu mesmo vou costurar tudo. E nao vai ter nenhum peso no pvc alem da lona, as luzes e exaustor vao ser fixados no teto pra suportar o peso.
Almost done! I will wait for the new light (Mars Hydro FC4000 EVO) to arrive before I finish the top part.
I am.planning to add another two rods at the top of the diy grow, but since the light and exaust will be hang on the rood instead of the pcv structure so the pvc structure will only have to support the covering weight.
Besides that, the pvc frame is kinda okay for now, tomorrow i will buy some stainless steel string (used for clothes line) to make crosses in every square giving it lots of tension and traction, similar to old airplane designs.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. I have been working lots here. I will probably only finish the tent off after the 31st when I have 15days off.
I am a private airplane pilot since I am 18 and today I work with offshore aviation for Lockheed Martin’s aircrafts here in Brazil.
The reference of the old school pipers is good call. The earliest models are made from simple tubular structures, wood wing profiles and a simple canvas to wrap the fuselage.
I dont plan to fly on it though but im pretty sure the concept of making cables to strengthen the frame should work.
We do have amazon and coupke other marketplaces, but the tents are very expensive even on the smallest models.
I have been trying to sace up some money and since I just bought an expensive light Im trying to save up making this tent work. It is all learning in the end, and if it doesn’t work I can always use it to make a better shelter for the adandoned dogs on the street.
