Good info there I guess I was wrong on that. You guys out west are so fortunate to have things like that available to you. Sucks being where im at :pensive:. Thank god for this place or i wouldnt have half the stuff in my garden bc its still illegal in my state. Would have loved going to that!

Lastly one of my damn seedlings isnt making its second leaf set, wtf? Like theres no foliage at all coming up. Ive already tossed 1 due to bad growth. 2 more just popped as backups. Ideas?
Heres some previous dj grows, cant remember if i shared these.

Just got a pack of his Blueberry F-5’s - don’t run regs but being I’m a seed addict feel it’s best to acquire get a pack of the Blueberry for collection & use

Cool man these are repros of those f5 fems. Ever grown DJ blueberry? If not just be patient and dont overwater or overfeed them. Honestly they do fine with just purified water. They do good when you stick them in the corner and let them do their thing. Like most old heirlooms they start slow

D.J. states that "low nutrient use " for best results for his original blueberry FYI

I dont give them any liquid nutes bc there so finicky. Im using coco and ffof. Im sure you could feed them, but i dont personally. Maybe if i see them getting yellow i would. I think when i repot them ill add some black cow manure and shroom composte. Hawkman when are you starting yours?

So the mutant is coming along now finally. Other one is growing nice and fast. I figured ill go ahead and add some dj x nevilles haze and dj velvet krush x destroyer to this. Mahakala youll like this! They are in papertowels atm. So its going to be a dj short gentics winter run! Be back when all dj stuff is up, should be fun. Wish i had the space id pop all of these to pollinate eachother. Maybe near future, got a dj stash building up.thanks again to @ChinookKing for these blueberries.

I grew a few different Blueberry lines; all different results - but I still have more beans to go through - I know I’ll find it eventually. I’m an Old Timer, who smoked Original Blueberry back in 1991 - and it was great! However, as time goes on, clones get passed around, genetics tend to get “watered down” Like for example, I grew one of DJ Short’s Blueberry a couple years ago - it had the structure, but lacked aroma & flavor - although it did produce the sought after BB high (good clear up euphoria).

Sadly, I grew a bunch of other Blueberries that were all over the place: the Humboldt Seed Co. Blueberry Muffin - it had the looks and the smell - the stuff reeked like artificial blueberry syrup, blueberry pie, blueberry muffins, etc, etc…; but after a pain in the ass trim job & cure, it lost most of the Blueberry magic - the smoke tasted like tobacco, and was mediocre at best. (And after talking with others who grew the HSC BBM - everyone had similar reports - the strain is a total “poser” - the Aroma draws you in, only to have it disappear in cure, along with poor effects too) But they did a great job marketing this BBM gimmick plant genetics.

I also grew some old school BC Blueberry (real Blueberry from BC, …NOT BC Bud Depot junk) - this stuff was on point; it leaned toward the Thai side of the genetics…it didn’t have the best resistance, and it will not finish outdoors here in New England (THAI strains are long flowering) - So i harvested what I could - And these pre-mature buds showed potential - 2 tokes and you were flying, taste was smooth, …I can only imagine if they were brought to full term in the correct environment. I managed to reveg one (1) clone (post harvest), but unfortunately it died when I was away on vacation (I’m still kicking myself in the ass). I had a few more beans left, tried to germinate, but no success - (they’re at least >10 years old at this point). I do have a couple more remaining that I’ll try when I have the time & space - I’ll be sure to use every trick in the book: Gibberellic Acid (GA3), Enzyme juice, Humic Acid & Kelp solution, and of course - I’ll make a sandpaper tumbler to shake them up before I even start. This will be my last chance with these Heirloom beans.

And there’s others I’ve heard good things about - the BC Coastal Blueberry I hear is really nice! - Bodhi’s Blueberry Hashplant (Blue Dream x ‘88’ G13HP) has some Blueberry lurking within - u have to dig for it! And finally, word is JOTI’s Blueberry is good (have not tried it yet) , and I have some Blueberry hybrids that were made up in Maine. One was made with a M.O.B. - Mother of Berries - and this stuff was juicy sweet fruity berry blueberry - but the buds were so dense, that one rain shower - and a botrytis epidemic ensued. One interesting fact of the Blueberries I’ve grown: some were very “indica” dominant - squat & thick leafy buds. Alternately, I’ve grown other Blueberry strains -and they grew tall, with spear like buds, more like a “sativa”, and of course - I’ve had plenty of “hybrid” types (that’s how I would rate the HSC BBM).

Real Blueberry - It’s out there, but to find quality, you need to dig for it!

Yeah for sure.

I meant specifically with DJ’s lines though. It seems in those specifically, not many have found real blueberry in there. And definitely not without a big hunt for it.

Other stuff though, like Coastal Blueberry from @SHSC-1 definitely have way more blueberry prevalence.

That sucks on the HSC blueberry muffin, but I always kinda figured they were all hype or white label as it is. Especially after reading about the Freakshow and whatnot. Never have purchased or own anything from them. Watched all the threads tho.

Can’t really go wrong with a real deal Blue Dream cross for blueberry either, so that makes sense bodhi’s Blueberry Hashplant is good stuff ^^ I won’t touch Blue Dream or anything to do with it for at least a few more years tho :joy:

JOTI’s pure blueberry work and crosses are good stuff too. Those and coastal are probably the only place I’d bother looking. Maybe BlueStar too

How is that mother of berry. Cool looking plant its so short and stocky. People way up in New England swear by it

The MOB up here in New England is a “Tank of a plant” - the structure is short, squat indica (mine was single cola); and the primary aroma is Blueberry, Fresh-Fruity, Berries…It turns Blue, with striking Orange pistils…This is one to keep an eye on - the buds are so thick, they can’t handle a rainshower, or moisture. Best bet for this plant is to harvest a little bit on the early side. …But as far as effects go, some people have called tit"stupid" bud - because you forget what you were doing, saying, etc…like for real. I would rate it as a night time strain, when you don’t have anything important to do. The buds are thick & leafy. …I have a picture of her from this past season - let me find it and I’ll post it.

@HolyAngel

You said it - DJ’s Blueberry line is all over the place - it reflects the state of breeding back then - not much was stabilized, and it was basically pollen chucking. However, back in 1991 - I made a connection with a dude from Oregon - we parked right next to each other at a Grateful Dead Concert at Nassau Coliseum New York, Spring Show, Let just say I shared some Mass Super Skunk heirloom buds (along with some other treats) - and he busted out a jar of “Blueberry” - he didn’t call it DJ’s Blueberry, he just said it was bud from Oregon West Coast at the time. It wasn’t the strongest weed - but it was some of the most flavorful blueberry ever! Smelled like fresh picked blueberries too.

One either grows authentic DJ Short Blueberry and likes it or they talk about how good it used to be with literally no experience growing it then or now.

Lol right ive been growing it off and on 25 years, and its just hearsay. Its the same strain just diffrent generations and selections. Every pack has produced a solid true keeper and plenty of blueberry smells and flavors whether it be flo or moonshine. So im either the luckiest m guy in the world with bb genetics or people are just speaking without actually growing it. I could go on and on.

Delightful. She is what I call Delightful as she is a selection from my F5 blueberry crossed with pollen from the Everything Delightful males in a pack from DJ. No idea what her lineage is really, will probably backcross and or reverse, assuming she revegs successfully.
