Bv2 and vk are both excellent, should be a great pairing from the sativa and indica side of Dj’s Blueberry lines.
Its certainly had my eye since vegging. I was talking with Sbeanonnamellow about how much i like it so far. It has a very nice perfume quality to the smell, doesnt even smell like cannabis. At week 4 so its longer flowering too. Ive nevergrown or smoked either so its all new for me.
Last one heres the blue comet x nevilles haze via Sbeanonnamellow. Killer selection from him i gotta say. Shes got wood polish, unripe berries, and lime on the nose…

Howdy @nick131740 , it could very well be a Blue V-2 x Neville’s Haze. Especially if that was your initial feeling, because you have supreme instincts. A gift with the plants. She’s absolutely gorgeous.
The possibilities for parentage based on what I sent you, she could be any of the following:
- Blue V-2 x Neville’s Haze
- Velvet Krush x Blue V-2 (Part of the Who’s Yo Daddy mix)
- Velvet Krush x Cannabiogen Destroyer (Part of the Who’s Yo Daddy mix)
- Blue Comet x Neville’s Haze
Blue Comet is from the Velvet Krush x Who’s Yo Daddy work and seems to be born of the Destroyer pollen.
Since the plant you recently shared seemed to be mostly Blueberry type traits with the rose and berry, along with the purple branches, I figured it was likely it could be a Velvet Krush x Blue V-2, but to read it’s already about 4 weeks flowering I’m thinking it may possibly be one of the Haze hybrids. Flowering time on that one will be a helpful indicator on giving a guess at the genetics. Although with how the genetics could be expressed, all of those lines I sent you could more or less throw out similar types with the exception of the Velvet Krush x Blue V-2, that one should be pretty uniformly Blueberry. The Blue V-2 definitely had longer internode spacing than most other Blueberry types and also had looser flower structure compared to the dense velvety Blueberry types. And with the familial cross of the Velvet Krush x Blue V-2 it could definitely throw some sports that lean more sativa than both parents. The deep red stalks and rose berry aromas is having me think it’s the Blue V-2 pollen. It’s just really hard to say for sure because all the lines have Blueberry types and most have sativa influence, even the Blue V-2 to some degree.
If there’s any Haze zing to the aroma or in the scent of the smoke, that’s a helpful indicator for assessment, so too is the lack of it which would point away from being a Neville’s Haze hybrid.
The one you posted highlighting the lime scent I think points towards the Blue Comet lineage because the Blue Comet was very lemon starburst in it’s aroma which turned to classic dank when cured. The intense lemon, or citrus, was thought to come from the Límon Verde that is part of the make-up of the Cannabiogen Destroyer, so to hear of wood polish and lime I’m thinking that’s the Blue Comet x Neville’s Haze work. It could also just as easily be a sibling to the Blue Comet, so effectively a Velvet Krush x Destroyer. One of those two would be my first best guess due to the sativa attributes and mention of pleasant and strong citrus, lemon/lime type aromas
I’m stoked you didn’t label anything when you planted them because this is fun to wonder about. What matters most is that you’re enjoying them and I am too. They look absolutely as intended. A nice variety of Blueberry types, some with touches of Haze and classic sativa. Thanks a bunch for showcasing them in such a great way. They look great!
I sent a bunch of the Velvet Krush x Who’s Yo Daddy out as a bonus flip when sending trading and sharing seeds a little while back. Hopefully the uncertain lineage doesn’t put people off from trying them out because I know they’re great. Have been passing out the more recent Neville’s Haze hybrids lately along with another Who’s Yo Daddy project, this time with Dr. Grinspoon x a bunch of DJ Blueberry stuff among others. More gold to be found in those too.
Any members that are willing to plant some in their garden and show them off so I can live vicariously through y’all, if I have extra seeds to send and stamps to send them I’ll send you something as long as I’m able to. It’s so wonderful to see the plants being enjoyed by others like here in this thread. Wishing y’all a happy day. Many blessings and much love
Ahhh thats right! Let me edit that i think ive done that like 10x. Yes blue comet x nh. This is what happens when you dont label haha. Your correct lemon starburst is much more accurate of a description along with polish and berry. Its quite the combo of smells man. Can smell each parent it has the perfect amount of blue in it imo. Very nice hybrids. Its just fun to guess what they are but ill go with blue comet haze.
.
At some point i need to just make an ongoing blue log or something. If im hijacking yall lmk i just love the blue so i share away
. Really nowhere else for me to share dj plants
I don’t want to read through 900 posts so I’m hoping it’s OK to just ask, but for those who have grown it, is the dj short blueberry worth the price to find blueberry? Or are there better options out?
I would ask bluestarseedco hes on here periodically and offers all kinds of blueberry things. Seems like a cool guy too that just loves the plant. Id ask him when stops back by hes your best bet imo bc hes here and can answer your question.
In short though yes its worth it imo. Ive never had a bad plant from his seeds. His is the only one too as far as bb goes. Everyone else that offers uses his hahaha
I’ve shared my experience about my preference for Blueberry around the forums before, and since I can get long winded at times I’ll try to keep it concise but knowing me it’ll still probably be a bit drawn out…
A while back my buddy found the most amazing Blueberry type that was Blueberry muffin mix, blueberry syrup deliciousness from Dutch Passion fems. Kept it for over a decade. When seeking out more Blueberry genetics I sought out the source of those genetics, so naturally I sought out DJ Short because that’s where Dutch Passion sourced their Blueberry from. At that time there weren’t many authorized retailers selling DJ Short seeds so I flew across the country to attend his class in Pasadena to buy direct. The cost of the airline tickets + food lodging and accommodations was a little over $1000 and I spent another$1000 on seeds. I ended up buying about 20 packs of seeds at $50 each pack. I’m not sure if it was from going thru the X-ray scanner at the airport or something else but those seeds had terrible viability. Almost none sprouted for my buddy and the ones I was able to get sprouted dampened off. No survivors. I was so bummed.
Even still, I knew DJ was where the good Blueberry was. I could feel it in my soul. I booked another flight and attended another class halfway around the country to be able to purchase more Blueberry seeds direct. Even after having nothing to show from the first trip. My buddy thought it was a terrible idea to do it again, but I knew I needed to try again. If the stuff I enjoyed so much came from DJ originally, then that’s the Blueberry that I wanted.
The second class I attended I purchased approximately 20 packs of seeds again. Seeds plus lodging and accommodations came out to approximately $2000 total like the first time. Only this time I mailed the seeds back instead of flying with them. Not sure if causation or correlation but this time the seeds viability was great. Open pollinated 40+ plants from a handful of the available varieties. Blueberry, Flo, Vanilluna, Cocoa Kush, and Whitaker Blues. These plants and the progeny were and are amazing. Some all time favorites came out of those seeds and still have a big mason jar full of seeds from that open pollination.
So to say, I’ve paid more than a premium for the Blueberry genetics from DJ and I would do it again if need be. I think they’re worth whatever it takes that is realistic for ones budget and circumstances.
Since then I have purchased nearly every retail release except for the last few. I purchased multiple packs of each Breeders Choice Mix 1-4, multiple packs of Velvet Krush, multiple packs of Blueberry, Multiple packs of Flo, Multiple packs of 90’s Blues, Multiple packs of Seven of Nine, multiple packs of Temple Flo, multiple packs of First Light, and more that I’m probably forgetting. I purchased these when starting to collect and had never paid so much for a retail pack of seeds before. All things considered, a bargain compared to flying halfway around the country to purchase direct though I cherish the moments meeting and getting to know DJ. It really helps one feel the genuine intent and heartfelt aspect of him breeding for effect.
Every experience I’ve been able to be a part of with DJ Short genetics has been worth it in my opinion, and I mention all of this because the two classics from DJ, his Blueberry and his Flo, have never been more affordable. The retail price for half packs is approximately $30 or $40. They are some of the best valued seeds in the market today. I rank them very high as a treasured heirloom.
Blueberry syrup muffin mix won’t be expressed every time in every seed, but when it does it’s magical. There will be chocolates, rose, earthen berry, vanilla, cherry, and more. Nuances of each. An abundance of heart chakra. The blueberry syrup muffin mix is very distinct and worth looking for. If it’s not in the seeds from a small sample size it can still be found in work done with those seeds. For example Blueberry X Flo or something like that. So if you don’t find it right away, make some seeds with what you have and it can be in the resulting progeny. Ideally run as many of the originals as you can because they’re great. Wishing you a wonderful DJ Short Blueberry and Blueberry family experience. Many blessings and much love
Its the best. Grow it.
Just look at the pics i wanted to say haha, the buds look like blueberries. Bb has a cult following for a reason. Look at me for example ive been obsessed for a long time after my first experience, its that good. The effects are where its at though im sure yall would agree
The only blueberry I know of is Dj’s. Most everyone elses are just offspring of Dj’s. What exactly are you looking for in traits? I can help if you clarify whats important to you. Dj’s original work is the same stock since 98. All the Canadian and Dutch versions that I know of used his stock. Just different parent selections. Djs work is based off the effect. Complete satisfaction and relaxation, with anti anxiety properties in some. You will find floral blueberry in flo, candied to fresh blueberry seltzer in the original, blueberry jam in the happy pussy lines, chocolate in cocoa kush, vanilla/honey/melon in vanilluna, grape soda to grape bubblicous in grape krush. These are all in his work and lots more. They are more subtle rather than pungent.
If pungent flavor and aroma with more potency are important, you may want to go with a hybrid outcross. Thats where my work is focused. I used afghan and sour diesel (death star) to blend and combine with blueberry to find phenotypes that enhanced the flavor and aroma in pungency.
Ultimately the blueberry effects ( anti anxiety, calming) that’s potent and won’t give me the munchies. If it can help me sleep on the come down, well that’s the most perfect strain ever to me.
Blueberry lines more for the relaxation and flo lines more for the anxiety reduction. But they are very similar. I’d say I get more munchies with bb.
Really think youll like it alot. Ive seen your grows on here i know youll pull the best out of it. Let us know if you grab anything. Lights on now just checked other f6 trichomes again i think Monday might be the chop. I see a couple ambers mostly milky. This individual has that dry sandy feel to it reminding me of my hashplants. I put my green plant in front of it to show the vibrant colors of bb for comparison
@Sbeanonnamellow we need to find a way to get tg this spring. Id love to share with you and talk bb. That or I wish there was some kind of harvest get tg for dj short gentics that would be so awesome

The f5 keeper reversed female hit four females. I gave you #1. If you want to try the others I can trade you some seeds.
What ever happened with the 90s blues? Is that a solid blueberry line? I haven’t really seen anybody talk about it or run it.
