Okay so i figured i would start my own grow log with these. I have an ongoing journal but wanted to highlight these in particular. Dj short is my favorite breeder, and of course bb my favorite cultivar these are all vegging unde mr 300 watts led coco/ffof. Hopefully a few of yall will show some interest bc i see the same strains and breeders over an over on here…
So heres what i got going, first upare the dj bb f6. They all have dark purple stems…
I hope so . I do have a really good feeling already on two of them. Grower premonition I guess. Heres one of them, hope its obvious why i like this one…
Thanks brother i appeciate it. Ill update 2x a week, i figured a few people would be interested. Especially the destroyer and nevilles haze ones. Only one is growing funky so far…
interesting genetics - quite a mix - wonder what “gene” will be dominate - have to follow this one ( so you crossed 2 indica strains together and then crossed it to nev haze which you worked to f6 )
Blueberry f6 was made using dj shorts f5 blueberry. I belive he selected for the deep purple colorations.
The blue comet x nevilles haze is (dj short blue v2 lifesaver) x nevilles haze.
The destroyer one is dj blue v2 x cannabiogen destroyer.
Hope that helps, but ya man im stoked to see what pops up. So far they all lean sativa besides the mutant one i showed. For the f6 they have very dark almost black stems with berry stem rub. All look diffrent from each other which is what i want. If i find a dope looking male ill prolly cross them all tg for fun.
Me too, to compensate for potential height issues im going to tie the tall ones down after repot. Or flip early im just going to have to see how they grow. Im also using my blurp light on the blue spectrum to keep them shorter with stronger main stem. Normally i use full spec start to finish
What is your destroyer hybrid? What kind of setup do you run, no need to fear just lst them. Its simple and effective with no stress on your plant. All u need is a pipe cleaner and a clip.
TV from Bodhi (Vietnamese 7 x Thai (cannabiogen Destroyer pearl pheno ix2)
I’m all about some LST and Super Cropping. I run earthboxes and once the roots hit the water, sometimes the growth is just too explosive. Had a Metal Haze that I had to chop down because it would not stop stretching in flower. Overgrew my whole 4x8 and shading out other shit.
Haha i think yours get huge bc of the earthbox, my bro usesone and his plants are 3 x size of mine. Maybe try solo to 2 gallon then flip. With your setup id flip fast with those genetics.
These are the last time i grew a dj bb x nevilles haze. Just used the pipe cleaners on the branches…
Howdy @nick131740, it’s so rad to see you giving the seedlings a spot deserving of your time, attention, energy and the like. Massive respect for giving them a chance. I think there are some quality genetics within to find utility and enjoyment out of. I really hope they perform wonderfully for you. This is what buddy had in mind for the strategy with those seeds. The lineages are a bit of a mess to follow, apologies for the confusion I’ll try to surmise the work best I can.
DJ Short and his work with his Blueberry types is the foundation for the high, that’s the goal for the effects of the Blueberry to be selected towards. In this instance for the seeds you have, it all started with a selection of Velvet Krush.
A Velvet Krush female was hand pollinated with Cannabiogen Destroyer pollen on select flowers one day and another day different select flowers were hand pollinated with Blue V-2 pollen. It should also be mentioned that Sour Lifesaver pollen was also hand pollinated on other plants on other days, so there is chance of pollen contamination but it should be minimal if any at all. Buddy said selecting towards Destroyer types compared to the Blueberry incross types was the goal with the seeds, essentially creating Blueberry Sativa types and Traditional Blueberry types side by side in those seeds. Those seeds are called Velvet Krush x Who’s Yo Daddy.
They’re a mix of Velvet Krush x either Destroyer or Blue V-2. With a caveat for outliers to the those being selected towards possibly having contamination from Sour Lifesaver pollen that was being used on different plants on different days, but near enough to present realistic opportunity for possible contamination so the asterisk, so to speak.
The goal with those seeds was to select Blueberry Sativa types alongside classic Blueberry short squat types along with whatever else interesting might pop up in the mix. Buddy thought the Thai and Mexican in the Destroyer would pair well with the Blueberry and sort of reinvigorate some of the ancestral wild genes as Blueberry also has Thai and Mexican ancestral heritage. Buddy thought the the Blue V-2 pollen would make classic Blue types, possible recessives and that sort of thing. Hunting the extremes of each end of the spectrum and enjoying whatever else nice that may present in between.
Those Velvet Krush x Who’s Yo Daddy as described above is the same seed lot that the Blue Comet plant was found in. Blue Comet is Velvet Krush x Who’s Yo Daddy, with the speculation that it comes from the Destroyer pollen. So it’s assumed the Blue Comet is Velvet Krush x Destroyer. Here’s a comment I made about the Blue Comet plant that helps explain the nuances of the reasons why it’s assumed to be the Destroyer pollen instead of something else for example Blue V-2 or Sour Lifesaver:
That Blue Comet plant was hand pollinated with Neville’s Haze pollen from MNS seeds. That’s the Blue Comet x Neville’s Haze flip I sent to you.
The other flip I think I sent a couple of the Velvet Krush x Who’s Yo Daddy, so you would have some of the originals where the Blue Comet came from. Thinking you could maybe find a classic Blue type by way of the Blue V-2 pollen. Or maybe another or a better Blue Comet type, something with Destroyer.
I’ve also got some Blue V-2 x Neville’s Haze from buddy, a sort of tip of the hat to DJ’s famed Johnny Blaze. Buddy calls it Bonnie Jaze. I’ve been slacking getting back to the mail but should hopefully be able to send those out to you soon. Seeing this thread is a total treat. Thank you for showing off your experiences with buddies work. Many blessings and much love
Thnx for the clarification I was close from memory. Im just glad i have the opportunity to grow them, the honor is mine. Thank you for stopping by I didnt want these getting drowned out in my other grow logs so here we are.
Destroyer sounds pretty bad ass. I imagine to earn that name she has got to be something special. Lemon starburst is what my DLA 5.3s smell like. To my understanding that’s a smell associated with the G13? Very dominate in this cross regardless. There’s a little more hiding on the underside that I bet will come out post chop.
I really like the lemon but would like to see a little something funky to balance the sweet.
Thanks for taking the time to share, I enjoyed learning the lore.
Plants are looking good @nick131740
Sounds like some bad ass smoke!
Thnx buddy I appreciate it, and yes the lemon is generally from g13. Ive never grown dla though so couldn’t say for sure. It looked awesome last time i saw your log, ill be sure to send you few more of these when I get the coin flips. Peace
Here’s 2 more individuals one “looks” 50 % haze. Other “looks” 50 % destroyer for now at least lol. Super ez so far they seem to like the recycled soil and blue blurp light. I know these probably dont like alot of nutes so i may repot them in more recycled ffof.
