Do plants that start male ever herm

Maybe that’s a crazy question but I understand there are chemical ways to (partially?) reverse males to female. I wonder if this might be a way to create known male seeds. A way of ensuring an appropriate polinator for females without creating fems.

I know most everyone doesn’t want herms. Most people don’t have GFs as generous and accommodating as mine. I understand the issue intellectually. Wanna ask the questions before “reality” sinks in and kills my curiosity.
