Do you keep moms or cut clones from clones?

If you keep mother plants around how big a pot are they in?

I used to keep my mothers in 3" rockwool cubes, but I up-potted them so I dont need to water as often. Now I use 4" grow pots, and solo cups

If they dont look to be in the best of health, they have been in these containers for nearly 2 years, and I have been having to hide them in airtight containers for full 8-hour days nearly every day for the past 3 months, to hide them when my landlord comes by to perform maintenance!

Holy isht! Those are some sturdy legs on those solo plants!
Looks like soil not coco. What do you feed to keep so happy in cups?

Cut new clones, then flip toss or give away the Moms :+1:

They don’t need much root space unless you want HUGE plants with obese nuggets… so I always transplant before putting into flower

@herojuana.tom why is the landlord coming by EVERY DAY for 3 MONTHS? :man_shrugging: That seems intrusive

less space and equipment that way sounds like

Neighbor complaining about the smell.

He has done a ton of work, like changing out the asbestos-covered heat ducts, rebuiding a fence, and other tasks. He has been coming over quite often for maybe almost 2 years now! I haven’t had a full grow in a while, and have had to resort to buying bud lately :face_exhaling: And next he is swapping out our front window because it leaks between the dual paned glass :sob:

It really effing sucks, man

A mom can be replaced by a cut fairly easy - I’ll rotate cuts back into mom’s as moms get old or big or if they just need a fresh up.

I feed once a day with either Mega crop 2-part, or Jacks 321… I have multiple huge 25# bags of nutes

I am down with that. A little coco never hurts either!

Huge plants (6’+) with Obese nuggets are definitely a target during flower, but for mother plants a large root mass and huge plants are not necessary. I have had 6’ plants in little 3" rockwool cubes and solo cups, but they need to be watered multiple times per day

I have been listening to Bad brains since 1983. Loved them until Human Rights got cracked out and came out as an extremely homophobic misogynists. I do still love their music, though, despite HR’s vile hatred

THIS is why i despise growing in the cups.

but you are over there making it look easy. kudos to you. i still struggle with the cups for long term grows.

These are in kinda bad shape, because I don’t have them hooked up to an automated watering system currently, but when the automated system is in place I can set it to water more optimally than I do in my random daily passing-through sessions. Right now, they only get watered once a day… by hand
