Doc D Bandaid Haze, Colombian Gold x Dragon Energy and Ancient OG x DE; Bodhi Soar; Freeborn Skycuddler Kush #3 f3

Oh, you grew that Devil’s Hashplant? I don’t think I knew that. I’ve got a pack of that in the fridge, pretty stoked about them, but I figured I’d try out the Cheech f2’s first. Probably a little more variety in those seeds than the DH. Different dads, too.

Did you log that anywhere? I’d like to check it out.

I didn’t log it, I do have 2 more full packs that I hope to search through at some point though. I’m sure that I didn’t see the best that the cross can offer, but I was happy nonetheless. Similar to Black Triangle in many ways but was stronger flavor and a bit less narcotic for me. I think people seeking out BT would do well to search through Devil’s HP as an alternative from what I’ve seen so far in 1 pack of BT.

Out of one whole pack of Devil’s HP there were almost all males, 8/3. Out of the 3 females :

1 female was very large sickly sweet smelling buds with male flowers hiding on the underside of the buds. Unsure if it was an environmental trigger or genetics but there were 3 different GG4 genetics in the same tent (GG4xSSDD, GG4xW15, GG4 RIL) that did not show intersex traits at all. I have come across this same smell in a few other HP crosses such as Herer Hashplant and Jungle Spice but am unsure if it’s coming from the dad or not.

2 females had similar stretchy “OG” like growth with dense golf ball floral clusters. One ripened a bit quicker and was a bit more intense in odor. Dried it is a medium strength smell of soapy / skunky, but when vaporized it smells extremely strong like church. I’m basing the idea that it’s Diablo leaning based on morphology, growth characteristics, and smell but am open to being wrong about it.

Ohhhhh, yeah, I think I remember that post now. I don’t think I realized it was you who posted it, though.

Sounds like my typical M:F ratio haha.

I actually haven’t tried the Soar yet, planning on doing that tomorrow, though. I rolled a joint for my friend Natalie during the Super Bowl, just took a nug out of the paper bag, she loved it. Gotta say, too, that while I was trimming, the Soar’d really developed a “fresh-squeezed juice” element, as well. And tangy, I couldn’t tell if I was smelling fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice or OJ. Maybe both?

I have tried the Sky Cuddler a few times haha, but only before bed. She’s real, real tasty. Stony. Suuuuuuper-red eyes, which I love. I’d actually been thinking lately about how that Mexican Melon never makes my eyes red, so that was nice. I wanna leave the jars sealed for a couple weeks before I start checking her out in earnest, though. And the Soar, too, really, but Natalie’s coming over tomorrow and bringing a friend, I figure that’s as good a time as any to try her out for the first time.

Okay, flower day 74.

Bandaid Haze #1:

Bandaid Haze #3:

Bandaid Haze #4:

There’s some pretty alien-looking flowers on that #4.

Bandaid Haze #6:

So with the exception of the #3, the Bandaid Hazes are really looking pretty dang close to being finished, which is surprising. I’m thinking two more weeks at the most. I may bust out the multiple loupes, close-up lenses etc that I own to try and get a closer look at the trichs, even though all of those things have proven to be pretty useless over the years, but I’d reeeeealllyyy like to get a close look at the trichomes just to see, like, where they’re at. Even the lowers and mids on the #3 look close to being finished; it’s just those two huge top colas that look like they’re gonna take forever. I’m not one to harvest in pieces, I’d really prefer to just chop the whole plant at once, but it might have to be done for that #3.

Anyway, here’s the Colombian Gold x Dragon Energy #1:

And the Colombian Gold x DE #2:

That pic makes me chuckle.

Honestly, these are looking pretty close to being finished, too. The #2’s flowers are pretty interesting-looking, I think. Doc said that the C. Gold he used reminded him of a “pensil Thai” (as far as I can tell, “pensil” is “pencil” in Thai? Or something?) and mentioned that the flowers were “delicate.” They definitely look like they’re gonna be about the thickness of a pencil after they’ve dried haha. Which’ll be pretty cool. I’m looking forward to blazing it. Pretty sure I’m gonna chop both of those in about two weeks, too, if not sooner.

And here’s the Ancient OG x AfPak #1 (which I didn’t realize until last night I’ve been labeling Ancient OG x DE for this entire grow haha), flower day 32:

She’s absolutely a plant that shoulda been topped, pretty sure the yields on her are gonna suck.

There’s just this mass of flowers starting to form directly beneath the cola, looks like it could get messy haha.

For some reason, I forgot to take a pic of the little cola, but there’s not much to see anyway. So far, she seems like she’s gonna take a lot longer than the 65-70 days that I thought she’d take, but you never know. I thought all of the other plants were gonna take forever, too, and they’re not, so…

Anyway, yeah, flower day 74. Gettin’ close now…

Edit: Shit! I just noticed I put Ancient OG x DE in the title, too, and I can’t seem to edit it. Anybody know a workaround? Should I tag lemonade Joe or somebody to see if they can fix that? I won’t abide by any confusion in my threads haha.

You’re right about the BH. They look just about done minus that #3.

The CG x DE look delicious , you sure they’re not Afpak crosses as well?:joy:

Ancient Og x AfPak looks like the oddball with her broad ass leaves :maple_leaf:. Looks similar to Docs Afpak male on his IG :sunglasses:

Psssshhhhh… Haha, can’t believe I did that. And I scrolled through and noticed in some of the posts I’m calling it “Ancient OG x DE,” in others I’m calling it an AfPak cross… What a mess.

I don’t think I’ve seen any pics of that (that I remember, anyway), maybe I’ll log on to IG and take a look.

Oh, yeah, I have seen that pic, I forgot. His looks a little more branchy, maybe. I think the fans on mine might be even bigger, actually. Those things are huge. The fans on the males I trashed were even bigger, wayyyyyy bigger than my hand.

It’s interesting you mention that. There’s some rollicking haze threads on IC Mag, and that’s been mentioned more than a few times. I didn’t pay enough attention to mine to tell.

They do look close, and nicely grown. Me, I’d scope them with something… it’s not that hard, lol!

Yeah, it’s not uncommon for longer-flowering plants to mature at different rates on different parts of the plant. Probably happens on faster-finishing plants, too, I dunno.

It’s not that I think it’s “hard” haha, it’s that everything I’ve ever used to get a close look at the trichs has been worthless. When I look through my loupe, everything just looks shiny/silvery. My real camera won’t take anything close to any sorta macro-type shots. I have a big-ass magnifying glass, but that doesn’t work. And the phone clip-on lens thing won’t take good enough pictures. I even had my girl put it on her phone (which is newer than mine) and had her try to figure it out (she knows about that kinda shit) and she couldn’t seem to get decent pics, either.

I’m gonna try again tomorrow night when I water, see if I can’t work something out. I know the clip-on thing works, because it’s the same one that a couple people here use and they get great macros. I dunno what the deal is…

That CG x DE #2 is trying to escape dude, keep an eye on her :joy:

Haha, yeah, I maybe might do just a little bit more training on her, but at the same time, I really am considering chopping her and the other C. Gold in a few days, doesn’t seem worth the effort.

Maybe just start with a stern talking to, set some boundaries, let em know who’s boss. Wild plants like that actually secretly crave structure and discipline, a strong role model if you will

Nah bud, you got this dialed, you’re the one that’s got em looking so good in the pics, doc just put the ball in your hands, you’re the one running it to the endzone

Don’t believe everything you see on the internet haha. I didn’t “alter” those pics or anything (I think we all can agree that there’s no way I’d even know how to do something like that), but in person, some of those plants are looking pretty rough, particularly the BAH #6. Humidity levels have gotten as low as 25%, which I think might be part of the problem. Despite what people think, the weather in LA (or at least the part of LA that I live in) is pretty unpredictable, regarding humidity levels, anyway. Hard to get a handle on them.

I also raged on the Super Bowl, woke up at 7am Sunday (after watering the night before), didn’t go to bed until Monday night around 11 or so. I was supposed to water Monday night, but I was too tired when the lights turned on. Tuesday, I felt so rough I didn’t water that night, either. Finally pulled it together and watered Wednesday night (with a little coconut haha). The pots actually didn’t feel all that dry, which would make sense, seeing as how they’re almost done, but still… I don’t think they appreciated going that long without any water.

Been a few years since I raged like that. Never again haha.
