Yeah, I wanna see what exactly he’s doing with the Lemon Thais, too. Last time I logged on to IG, maybe like a week or two ago, he posted a picture of some of them. I think. Pretty sure he did. But he didn’t mention what specifically he was doing with them (besides growing them, I mean haha). I’m done buying seeds for the next five years or so, from anybody, but I may grab a few packs of the Lemon Thai if they sound interesting enough. And then that’ll really be it haha. I will not buy any more seeds.
Yeah, I’ve seen you on the log haha. Sucks that I only got two Mexican Melon females, but they’re both so different from one another that I think it’ll still be a decent show. You should pop those Dragon Temple seeds. Bodhi’s Tree of Life (Jack x Temple) and Mountain Temple (Temple x Appalachia) have been some my favorite crosses that I’ve ever grown or even ever smoked. Great weed.
Yeah, that might turn out good. I grew Bodhi’s Genius Thai x OMG last year and it didn’t really knock my socks off. But I was also in a very weird place when I harvested them. I’m not sure anything would’ve knocked my socks off at that time. Maybe a speedball straight into the veins haha…
So from what I gather, Doc D is doing a Lemon Thai F3 repro with a very large pool of Lemon Thai seeds and existing phenos. I think we are going to get the pure lines first. I can imagine that it will take a long time to hunt through/refine the line before he is comfortable selecting a stud for future projects.
The Genius Thai x Dragon Energy revealed some insanely stretchy thai dominant phenos that I couldnt handle indoors, so that was proof that the Thai in Genius Thai is still in there and ready to be expressed. A Genius Thai x Lemon Thai Bx would be really fun to look through, though you may want to have tall ceilings.
I try not to speak for Doc too much, but I can say that he has plans to use the DE stud again. It would be blasphemy to retire it after 4 of the pre-releases made it straight to the MSSC category just 3 months after their release.
Just to give some perspective on that DE male… I ran through 90 or so seeds of assorted Dragon Energy crosses. Genius Thai x DE, Black Energy, TK x DE, Dragon Temple, and PCK x Dragonsoul. The worst phenos from that seed stock were just “good”. The majority were very good, some excellent, and a few were incredible. I was able to release every last gram of every pheno to my patients with glowing reviews. They still talk about that flower even 6 months after I released it. I found 3 keepers during this hunt.
During my last hunt (finished 2 weeks ago) I popped 200 seeds as a last big push to round out my mom library. I found keepers that were just as excellent as the DE hybrid keepers, but I only ended up with 15 phenos that were appropriate for release. I had to run the rest into concentrates. To me, a 1:100 keeper rate is normal and is nothing to scoff at, and dud rates of 80% are also normal and should be expected. I’m sharing this to really put the DE male’s consistency and quality ceiling into perspective.
That DE hunt was not normal. The DE male is not normal. The DE male, in my experience, is one of the best males in the breeding community right now. A5/thai is on the same level as well.
Thanks. The smell has mellowed out quite a bit. It still smells like Onoin and Garlic and Cat Piss, Meat and Metal and a lil fuel. But it’s like they matured and blended together with a now present sweet haze smell. Like how a bottle of liquor can be perfumey and overpowering and then after a while that strong cologne/perfume smell mellows out to something more pleasant if that makes sense.
How’d you get that solo cup to just float there in the picture like that? Haha! Or is that cola so sticky all you had to do was stick the cup to the side of it?
Looking real good, anyway. Seems like that Bandaid really grows fat tops. You ever see the picture of that one freak BH? The cola that was like the size of two two-liter bottles? It was almost TOO big. And grown indoors, as well. Freaky.

I know Advanced Buffalo had a freak pheno with gigantic colas, it looked photoshopped it was ridiculous! Not saying it was photoshopped! At all, just sayin that’s how crazy it looked.

First time attempting to grow a haze
I was thinking about my post about how the Genius Thai x OMG didn’t knock my socks off for the last couple days, so I re-read my grow log on thcfarmer last night and also looked at my posts about it from last year on the Bodhi thread here at OG and apparently one of them actually DID knock my socks off haha. When I was reading my posts, I was like,”Oh yeahhhh, that’s right, I remember that plant…” It was what I assume was the OMG-leaner, just based on the way she grew, but still… Maybe a Lemon Thai/Genius Thai cross would turn out great haha.
Anyway, I feel bad about saying that the Smart Move (Genius Thai x OMG) wasn’t that good. Apparently, I loved the Afghan-leaning plant I grew, judging from everything I wrote about it haha. Last year’s hard to remember. Weird times.
But I am, right about now, regretting sending the rest of my seeds of that cross to someone who was interested in them haha!
Dammit! I trashed that whole pack of seeds after hearing it didn’t knock someone’s socks off. Now you’re saying it might have been a sock knocker?! …
