Yeah, that was my experience with three of the four BAH’s I grew, too. It’s not even really a “comedown”; it just feels good and relaxing the whole time haha.

hah! That’s funny. What’s weird about the Chem D to me, is that she smells really sweet, almost sugary, to me at first, like if I grab a bud with my hand… but after the sweetness there’s this rotten dumpster funk smell. It’s a weird plant. Honestly, I thought it would be stinkier, after growing GMO. GMO had way more dumpster/bad breath thing going on with it. There’s still time for me to get really stinky though, here’s Chem D at 45 days flowering:
I’ve heard a couple different reports on the smells and taste, seems like everyone interprets them differently. I get that pungent ‘good weed smell’ on the grind, maybe some rubber…? some say gas, or citrus-y rubber, with a bitter taste of dryer sheets. When she is alive and growing, there’s more of the delicate creamy smell, but hard to capture most of that on the dry.
Cool! I find it pretty stoney myself. I know some others needed a nap afterwards. I like it in the evening, as it calms me and puts me in a relaxed state of mind that preps me for bed. I don’t necessarily ‘crash out’ with it, but it’s not like it invigorates me either!
Interesting observations. My girl hated Sunshine Daydream because it made her pain worse as well. Maybe something in the Appy?
haha, I do need to write up a couple of reports… i do like it, though. I don’t know if it’s one that I’ll hold on to for years or anything, but it’s definitely good weed in my book. Another good thing about her, like Ramblin’ was saying, is that she does put out a lot of weight with those big, spiraling spears of colas.
I wouldn’t say narcotic, but more ‘heavy’ feeling than the BH7 for me. The BH7 feels like I’m flying around in my head. It’s doesn’t make me energetic, but just feels like I’m soaring around in my thoughts and can get lost in creativity, or introspection. But, then again, everyone is different… it’s very interesting to see people smoke the exact same weed and give varying reports… it just reinforces my beliefs that everyone’s receptors are different, and what is a ‘keeper’ for one, may not be for other people. As far as the incense smell, I personally don’t smell it, but I’m not familiar with Catholic Church incense at all, so take my words with a grain of salt, cuz I really don’t know there. It does smell really good though.
Sounds like the church leans more towards the NL5(A5) then, possibly the whole line does. Ive seen similar in some of my NorthStar though which was kinda the point. All sounds good to me! She’s a nice looking plant so I’ll find out soon enough.
Haven’t finished mine yet - just some samples. I did try it at after dinner and was probably already tired, will have to try it again mid day to see if that changes it haha. I’m a bit of a lightweight too so who knows.
To my nose it’s more spicy musty in the bag, but after toking it realllly leaves the room smelling of incense bigtime. Intense too - keep smelling it for awhile after.
That’s how I’m finding the BH 7. I’m definitely baked as fuck with that one, and farily confused. It’s like entering another dimension almost, where the normal rules of our usual dimension of time and space make less sense!
I don’t know about lingering afterwards, but I definitely get some incense terps from just smelling. Hard to tell what something smells like after smoking it as I’m fully steeped in whatever I’ve been smoking.
The Hashplant D smelled sweet for a while while she was growing, but then she didn’t smell like much at all for a while. The day I chopped her she was pretty stinky, but it definitely wasn’t “dumpster.” Then when I finally got around to trimming her, which was like seventeen or eighteen days after I chopped her, she smelled VERY sweet. And then, after a few days of being in jars and burping them and stuff, she smelled super-gnarly and gross.
So I dunno haha.
I didn’t notice any rubber, definitely didn’t think I was smelling gas or dryer sheets, either, but maybe some citrus? Or, like, “citrus”? Haha. I dunno. To me it was more of an exotic “earthy/spicy” thing, but maybe not. Like I said, my girl said she thought it smelled like grapes and she eats green grapes all the time, too, so maybe there actually is a little something to that, as well.
Ummm, I dunno. I mean, yeah, maybe, but then how could that sorta “nerve pain reducer” aspect of certain SSDD phenos be explained?
I’ve found that more often than not, weed kind of “heightens” every physical sensation rather than dulls it. Or most weed does, anyway. It’s not surprising to me that the Mother’s Milk made me super-aware of the pain in my tooth; honestly, it’s all in the right side of my face at this point, my cheekbone and even the back of my head on the right side, constant ringing in my ears, so it’s possible that the weed really had nothing at all to do with it.
This was not a comment directed towards you at all haha. I just remember I was following a couple other MM31 grow reports elsewhere a few years ago and I couldn’t remember what ever happened with those. That’s why I thought they musta fizzled out, actually, because I typically remember the end result of the logs I follow.
But yeah, sure, you should write some reports haha. Everybody likes smoke reports.

Thanks for the report! Like @iamyou_youareme alluded to, it’s cool to get so many different perspectives on the same weed. That said, my experience couldn’t be more different than you and the other folks who chimed in on that MM31 and the other samples. Like the polar opposite. 
Over the years I’ve thought a lot about this - others have always preferred different phenos than the ones I’ve chosen to keep.
What this tells me is, if I want to make good selections or have accurate descriptions, I should ask y’all to sample my harvests and write smoke reports. Clearly I’m the outlier whose opinion shouldn’t be trusted since everyone else smells, tastes and experiences the same things you folks describe. I don’t mind being the oddball. 
About the Chem D / Hashplant D, I’m excited to see your nugs and hear your perspective because I really like that knobby, slightly foxtailed look yours had at harvest. For comparison:
The smell of the D sometimes reminds me of a box of half rotten potatoes deep in the cellar, if you’ve ever smelled something like that, mixed with a powdery sweetness. It’s both earthy and gross while having sweet undertones, to me. But, again, most people disagree with me 100% on that, even smelling the same jar, so

I wanted to blaze more last night, but my tooth/face/head was (and still is) really bothering me. I can’t fucking wait to go to the dentist in a few hours, which is probably the first time I’ve ever said that haha.
I mean, I dunno if that makes you “the oddball” exactly haha. I have a buddy who I give samples of every harvest to and we disagree about shit all the time. I LOVED that C. Gold-leaning pheno of the C. Gold x Dragon Energy I grew a while back and he wasn’t crazy about it, for instance. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t as wild about the BAH’s as I was, either.
People smell stuff differently, taste stuff differently, do everything differently. And that goes for a lot more than just weed.
Yeah, I like that look, too. I think I waited too long to trim her, just because she got really frosty there at the end, but by the time I finally got around to trimming her it seemed like maybe she was too dry and the trichome stalks or whatever had maybe gotten too brittle. We’ll see how she looks (and smokes) in a few weeks.
I’m definitely excited about the way she smells, though. It’s been my experience that the grosser something smells, the better it tastes.
Sorry, forgot to address this, but I think you should select for the things you yourself enjoy. I mean, “good selections”? Just pick what you like. Who cares if nobody else does? Haha.
Hey, how’d the dentist visit go?
These are my private comments to IAM from the first two times I sat down with the MM31 on extended sessions.
Looks very “golden” in hue. Nice nugs, tight trim, again a good cure that leaves them moist but not wet. Perfect! Grinds up with a lot of obvious rubber funk coming out. Taste is 100% dryer sheets in the vape, a bitter flavor that lingers in the sides and back of the tongue.
It’s the type of cure that is perfect right out of the jar for vaping and, if you let a nug sit out for about 10min in the dry air here, it will be perfect for combusting. I think the smoke is not harsh, but it doesn’t evoke “soft gassy nose and creamy taste” like sovereign_707 claims in his cup winning posts about mm31. If anything, for me it completely lacks those things. Either that or weed luminaries are redefining what gas and creamy mean to be the opposite of their dictionary definitions. lol
Others <who I’ve spoken to> have described creamy, gassy, piney. I don’t get anything piney or creamy at all, and I just trimmed a bunch of branches off our blue spruce, douglas fir, and a couple pines and don’t smell or taste any similarities between the mm31 and how those trees smell. I also don’t get any typical OG cologne type smells or flavors.
For me, the smell was dominated by rubber and a hint of citrus and maybe laundry detergent (hint of what smells like your basement - DANK laundry!), and the taste is the same distinctly bitter dryer sheets flavor that I’ve found in many phenos pulled from Appy crosses.
Effects for me were super creeper, building over the course of 45 minutes with almost no effect for the first 15. It’s mostly relaxed but not extra potent to me - my normal 3 vape hits and then one to clear+cool the chamber after I turned it off got me a little laid back after supper, but it was 100% functional and not a-motivational. I actually expected it to be white knuckle potency and found it to be a little underwhelming. So much so that I took Josey out for a walk in the rain after dark about an hour after vaping, and by the time we got back, the effects had worn off completely.
Once she and I both got dried off, I took another 4 hits and one to clear+cool the chamber, finishing off the vape bowl, and it was a pleasant and relaxing wind down, with the effects completely gone by 930 when I went to bed. Instead of falling asleep immediately like normal, I stayed up and listened to 30min of a podcast about the Fae Folk in modern mythology. Being able to stay awake listening to something like that is highly unusual for me; usually I fall asleep in a couple minutes.
Overall it was pleasant smoke, but I’m really not sure how this cut won any cannabis cups. It doesn’t seem to stand out in any way. Still thankful for the opportunity!
To sum it up, the MM31 to me seems like the “big OG” pheno of MM that bodhi talks about. It’s unremarkable, but I guess it looks pretty, produces well, and tests high so it’s perfect for the rec market. That’s not to say there’s anything wrong it - I think it was grown beautifully - and I’ll definitely want to include this cut when I do a Mother’s Milk F2 preservation run.
Take my thoughts with a grain of salt. Those are my initial reactions and, while they might change over time, I don’t find myself rushing to go back to this one.
I agree in principle, but since I give 99% of my weed away and would like to start sharing keepers with others, what I’m saying is I should probably take y’alls opinions into account. I consume like a gram or less per week by vape unless I’m doing my own smoke reports and rolling fatties.

I agree that people are using the word “gas” in a way that probably isn’t accurate. I dunno about “creamy,” though, haven’t heard too many people use that to describe weed haha. I also don’t know who sovereign_707 is, never heard of them. I do think that that MM31 has a chai tea thing going on, which may be why I thought “creamy.”
Did it win a cup? Which one? I hadn’t heard that (or maybe I did and just forgot). I’m so fucking out of the loop, pretty much quit reading about any “weed stuff” a few years ago, other than what’s being grown on people’s logs who I follow here and unless I’m re-researching things that I’m thinking about planting from the seeds in my fridge.
That’s interesting. I felt it almost immediately, which I usually don’t like at all; I prefer the shit that takes twenty or fourty minutes to fully feel, but in the case of the MM31, I actually really enjoyed what I was feeling right from the start.
Anyway, yeah, who knows? I really liked it, though, and look forward to blazing more. I didn’t think it was super-strong or anything, but I’m fine with that. Strength or lack thereof is not something that affects my ability to enjoy the weed. All’s I care about it is how it makes me feel and it made me feel damn good.
Except for the tooth haha.
Pretty bad haha. The only good part was that she said that the tooth wouldn’t have to be pulled; instead they’re gonna do a root canal, which, fine, whatever. I don’t give a shit what they have to do, I just want it dealt with. But there’s a bunch of other stuff they have to do first, sounds like this is gonna be a multi-multi-visit process. My next appointment’s this Thursday, but that’s for some other shit, not for the root canal.
My teeth actually look good when I smile haha, there’s just a bunch of shit going on that you can’t see (but that I can definitely feel). This is what happens when you work at places that don’t provide health insurance (or who make sure to schedule you juuuuuuust enough that they don’t have to) and you can’t afford to see a dentist for fifteen fucking years.

The more “breeders” start showing up and posting on OG, the more I’m like,”Holy fuck, these people are idiots…” I mean, I’m all for people who sell seeds interacting with us, I love it, but Jesus Christ, the majority of them are legit stupid. And some of them are long-time, respected breeders, but damn! are they dumb.

Like, they’re legitimately unintelligent people, although I guess not so unintelligent that they weren’t able to create a “brand” or whatever. Still… I almost think it’d be better for them to kind of “stay in the shadows” a la DJ Short (who I think actually is a very smart dude and who I could read all day) and maybe only make occasional appearances online, lest we find out just how fucking unbelievably, legitimately stupid they really are. Stick to posting pictures of your crosses and don’t say too much.

Yeah, not necessarily speaking to intelligence level but once I hear or see a breeder on the forums go off or basically act like a complete asshole or I can tell they have a serious anger issue (you would think cannabis would alleviate that but it doesn’t seem to help with some people), I for sure steer clear from any of their offerings, I don’t care how great a certain cross may be or what that person may have done for the plant.
