Yeah, that’s cool. I have seeds of that one, right? You didn’t ever do an A5/Sensi Star cross, did you?

I meant to ask you about this, only just now remembered, but when I was digging through the seeds last night I found the stuff you sent me, it’s all together in one bag, and there was an Azad Kashmir pack in there. I didn’t look at it too closely, just because I always try to get in and out of the seed fridge as quickly as I can, but it did say “Azad Kashmir” (or maybe it was “Kashmir Azad,” I can’t remember haha) on the pack. What’s up with that one? I didn’t remember you sending that to me, but it’s definitely from you.

I crossed my C5SensiStar girl up there to the Starlite(A5Haze x NL5) and I called that NorthStar. Unsure if I sent that to you or not but I know I offered it when I had extra. I no longer do and I think I lost my cut of it. Need to start the last of those beans some time but I’ve been thinking about trying to find that foxtail lemon cheese haze girl instead  that was Super Lemon Haze x Exodus Cheese crossed to the male C5SensiStar that was the keeper girls even hazier brother.

I made f4s with the c5sensistar, some packs are labeled f2’s but they are f4s.

The Kashmir Azad, I forgot I sent to you long long ago before I knew better. Then forgot I sent them to you. I had to search our messages… but those came from Worcestershire Farms and you should put those in the trash asap as it was confirmed he had hplvd on those plants when he made those seeds. I woulda told ya sooner had I realized I sent them to you.

Having moved back to NYC last year and smoked many ounces of many different phenos of CBH and Piff, I’m not impressed. Most CBH is like the Headband/Sour Diesel/Green Crack generic mids that were everywhere in the early and mid 2010s in California. The Piff S1 from Piffcoast and his Harlem Dreams, Midnight Mass, etc. Are much stronger in a heavy way. The Bandaid Haze is much stronger in an uplifting way. Maybe it’s all about finding the right pheno, or maybe nostalgia is a hell of a drug, but I was hyped on it too until I started smoking so much out here, and now I wouldn’t accept it if it was offered. Too bland in terms of effects for most Haze lovers imo. Not trying to be negative at all, just offering my experience against a whole lot of hype in the last few years.

Okay, yeah, I just looked at my list, it says “NL5Haze x Sensi Star f2,” so it must be those f4’s. I really had been planning for months to plant those this round, but for whatever reason started considering the Cheese cross instead a while back and settled on that one for this round. I’ll probably plant the NL5Haze/Sensi cross next round.

Thanks for the (late haha) heads-up on that Kashmir Azad, too. I’ll trash those the next time I’m grabbing some seeds. I feel like I was following that Worcestershire Farms thread when he was f2’ing those or maybe I just read it after the fact, but I don’t remember the hplv part haha.

Where has the CBH hype been coming from? I haven’t really noticed any of that, but I don’t pay too much attention, either. I mean, I’m aware of the CBH, read a lot of stuff about it, but I think it must’ve been older stuff, when that cut was still being held tightly.

I agree. The BAH’s that I’ve smoked and enjoyed have all been very good.

Good to “see” you around, btw, Classic. Swear to gawd, every motherfucker I know who gets married ends up fucking disappearing… haha. Seriously, even my friends in “real life,” they’ll be like,”Oh, we got engaged!” and I’ll tell my girl,”Welp, we’re never gonna see them again…” haha.

Can confirm, got married and cut off everyone I know in real life

Ha ha ha, yeah it definitely happens! I’ve been good, had an outdoor crop that I lost a month ago to life drama but just a few days away from chopping a wild Acapulco Gold leaning Devils Tit F3 that I’m stoked on. Moving to San Diego next month where I’ll have a 36 plant setup and can get back to high grade and fish tacos.

Stoked to see anything on Doc’s SS work, I picked up a bunch of it when he released it and was wondering what effects and flowering time it brought to stuff like the MOX.

Oh, is that what you’re gonna plant? The Sensi Star crosses? I didn’t grab any of those, just wasn’t interested in them for whatever reason. What’s MOX? Mexican Oaxacan…? Haha.

I just grew two Consumption x Chocolate Thai from AK Bean Brains. His Consumption F2 is [(NL5 x Haze) x (Triangle Kush x NL5Haze)]. One pheno gave me 10oz and the other 14oz - a new personal record!

I was reading about Chem D last night for no particular reason and came across this thread from 2006: Chemdawg D | International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

I haven’t finished it yet, but it’s pretty interesting. It’s kind of difficult to tell who’s who on some of the posts because their screen names are all “Guest” haha, but Joe Brand is there documenting his original grow of the #1-#4 seeds as it’s happening. Looks like Chemdawg, The Person is there, too, along with Rez and some other people. Seems like it’s worth a read for anybody who’s interested.

One thing that I thought was curious is that Chemdawg, The Person keeps talking about how he found twelve seeds in that pound; I always read that he found thirteen. Doesn’t really matter, but yeah, funny how stories change over time.

Yesca x Jaro f3 #3 smoke report:

The #3 plant was this one:

That second pic always makes me chuckle.

Dried flower:

That nug weighed 3.9 grams, in case anybody’s curious.

Smell: Sticking my nose in the jar is totally reminiscent of visiting dispensaries in the late Aughts/early 2010’s and checking out the OG’s. There’s a “richness” there that I always associate with a jar filled with OG nugs.

However, once I start breaking these nugs up, the smell becomes much more complex and delicious. There’s a “rawness” going on (fuel, maybe?) that reminds me SO MUCH of a certain strain from back in the day, but I can’t remember which one it was. It mayyyybe might be reminding me of this one particular batch of Headband I got that was so good and so perfect that I quit buying it after I got that batch. It also reminds me of the way this one OG that my favorite dispensary used to occasionally carry called Sunlake OG smelled. I’ve never seen that one anywhere else, nor have I even ever heard anybody else talk about it. Most likely it was just a renamed OG, although to be honest, it didn’t remind me of any other OG I’ve ever come across. That Sunlake was really good, though.

Anyway, I had to revisit higherthought’s review of the Yesca x Jaro to get a little help with this one and this line stood out to me: “There are notes similar to Headband, of sour rye bread and gasoline in addition to those of OG and Sour Diesel like lemon pith and sugar cookie.” Again, I dunno if it’s necessarily gasoline that I’m smelling, but there is some sort of “raw” smell that, to me, conveys strength. The “sugar cookie” thing he mentions stood out as well, because there is a sort of “richness” going on, almost like a butter cookie or a sugar cookie or something. It’s not buttery per se, but it does smell… I dunno, just “rich,” I guess haha. There’s also some burnt rubber/hot asphalt going on in the background, but mostly it’s a “raw/rich” smell.

In other words, she smells fucking awesome. Once the nugs are broken up, she’s also super-loud. I can pack a bowl in my bong, go outside to fuck around and when I come back in to hit it, the whole living room/dining area reeks.

Taste: Very, very spicy. I wasn’t expecting that at all considering the way she smells, but yeah, it’s super-spicy-tasting. I’ve read that certain OG’s can have that spicy thing going on and I think I may have even grown a few OG hybrids that had spicy elements, but it wasn’t anything nearly as strong as the spiciness of this Yesca x Jaro. Higherthought mentioned in his review that he thought it tasted like Sour Diesel which is why I bought these seeds in the first place. The #3 plant absolutely does NOT taste like Sour Diesel at all, but she does taste very good.

High: I like this one. It takes about five minutes to start to feel and then climbs for another twenty, but it isn’t a pushy or racy comeup at all. It’s a little cerebral for the first half-hour, maybe 45 minutes, but, again, nothing “frantic” or speedy or anything. It just kind of gets the mental juices flowing, although I do find myself getting slightly forgetful because I’m so deep in thought. Like last night, I did a couple bong rips and then got in the shower and I forgot to wash my hair before I started washing my face. So once I rinsed my face off, I remembered that I needed to wash my hair and then inexplicably washed my face again instead, didn’t realize until I was rinsing my face off for the second time that I was actually supposed to have grabbed the shampoo and wash my hair.

So, yeah, there’s stuff like that that happens after blazing this one, like I’ll walk into the kitchen and forget what it is I went in there to get. There’s also a noticeable “body” element, but not, like, couchlocked or anything. It’s more like a loose-y goose-y sort of relaxed muscles thing that I think is pretty enjoyable.

She does have a little bit of a lazier comedown that makes me not want to smoke this one until all my stuff is done for the day. If I’m tired, she isn’t gonna keep me awake, but if I’m not tired, she just makes me sort of lethargic. I can still function, I just don’t want to haha. I don’t typically like strains that make me lazy, but I actually do really like this one. She seems strong enough, as well. I haven’t done more than two bong rips in any one session, just because I haven’t needed to. Two rips gets me good and baked for a couple hours. I could see, though, maybe three or four bong rips making somebody even lazier and perhaps inducing a sort of couchlock experience. I don’t have any desire to find out whether or not that’s true haha. Two rips and I’m set.

Anyway, yeah, this is pretty good weed, definitely worth a grow or three. I’m eager to start comparing her to the #5 plant for sure, still haven’t really started getting into that one yet, but I will soon enough.

I keep thinking about this… whenever I say something smells like grapes I mean that it smells like grandaddy purple. Everybody always said grandaddy purple smells like grapes. It just smells like purple.

All the old bay area purple strains (gdp, urkle, mendo, 3x crazy, etc) had a slightly similar smell but it wasn’t exactly grapes. It was just a sweet mellow smell that wasn’t tangy or vibrant enough to call fruity, and wasn’t perfumey enough to call floral.

Fresh grapes really don’t have much of a smell… they just smell kind of sweet and wet… it could be considered floral, but if I said the word floral you wouldn’t think of grapes you’d think of bouqets and perfume.

I consider it a “round” smell… synesthesia probably doesn’t help explain it though.

Anyway, whenever I see someone write that a strain smells like grapes, I just automatically assume they are actually saying that it smells like purp weed.

I know what you mean, but I can assure you that my girl couldn’t tell you what purple weed smells like if her life depended on it haha. She really doesn’t smoke weed at all, maybe three times a year, and she’s definitely not interested in any of the subtle or not-so-subtle differences from cultivar to cultivar. And she’s absolutely wrong about that Mother’s Milk smelling like grapes haha.

Actually, it does. I’ve definitely described certain strains as having a “round” smell, although I can’t think of which ones those were offhand haha.

Great review as always, now I can’t wait to grow these out! Sounds right up my alley. Buds are gorgeous too.

Yeah, one thing I wanted to make a note of is that the more I’ve been opening the first jar of that #3 Yesca x Jaro (I label each jar of each plant 1, 2, 3 etc so that I only open the same jar until it’s gone while the others remain sealed), the more the smells have been developing. I’d say that that “rawness” I mentioned in the review is for sure a “fuel” thing. Or “gas-y,” whatever you wanna call it. It’s also developed a pretty noticeable skunky smell that I really dig.

Still just tastes super-spicy, though… haha. And that’s okay! But I do wish some of those fuel and skunk elements would show up in the flavor. Maybe they will eventually.

One other thing: a friend of mine who’s a self-described “Indica fan” came over a couple days ago and I gave her a little bit of all the things I thought she’d enjoy from this round (I did not give her any of the Chocolate Blitzes; I’ve been getting into the one CB that didn’t herm the past few days and I’m certain she’d hate it haha). She texted me a few hours later to let me know that she LOVED the #3 Yesca x Jaro. So there’s that.

Knowing about your anxiety issues, I think you’ll probably really dig that cross, @TopShelfTrees1. I actually do, too, which is rare for something that smokes a little lazier than I ordinarily like. For me, though, that #3 plant is definitely a post-dinner, post-Jeopardy! smoke haha. I’m curious to see how the #5 plant smokes, but I’ve really only been blazing the Chocolate Blitz plant that didn’t herm since Friday. Gonna post that review in a second.

Chocolate Blitz #2 (the only one of the three that didn’t herm) smoke report:

The CB #2 was this plant:

Those three little nugs weigh 2.9 grams and I’m fine with that. They’re definitely “airier” flowers, pretty loose, but I like that. They’ve got more of a greasy-type feel to them when breaking up, too, as opposed to super-sticky and I’m also fine with that haha.

Smell: Smells similar to the Bandaid Hazes, with that “plastic/spicy” nose, but there’s also a very noticeable “fruity/bitter” thing going on. My girl thinks it smells like lemons, but I disagree. There’s for sure a fruity thing going on, but I don’t think it’s “lemon.” It’s more of a softer “berry”-type smell and not something like “tropical fruit.” And, I dunno, maybe lemony, too haha. I don’t think so, though. It’s for sure not as lemony as some other truly lemon-smelling plants that I’ve grown/smoked, anyway.

Taste: If the smell is “plastic/spicy,” the flavor is “plastic/sweet.” This one is definitely “plastic-forward” haha, but it’s not off-putting. It’s more like,“Whoa, okay, that’s interesting…” The sweetness is also very noticeable, but I can’t place it. Maybe sweet like a “fresh dewy grass” flavor? I dunno. It tastes really good, though and pretty unique.

High: I don’t wanna say,“This is definitely a ‘Sativa high,’” because who even knows what the fuck that means? But she sure isn’t what most people would think of when they think of “Indicas” haha. I really, really dig this one. Even though the onset of the high is pretty immediate, it isn’t rushy or racy or anything. And it does continue to climb for a while, too, but it never gets uncomfortable. It isn’t something that makes me wanna run around like a tweaker, but it is for sure not something that I’ll smoke after about 8pm. I mean, I have smoked her after 8pm a few times, before I got a handle on her, but knowing what I know now, no, I won’t blaze her any later than probably 6 or 7 at the latest. It’s kind of a weird (in a good way) high, because it’s more of an “alert”-type of feeling in my head and not necessarily something I feel in my body, although I have found myself feeling plenty comfortable just chilling on the couch, too. It also doesn’t make my mind race or anything, I don’t get lost in my own thoughts; in fact, I’ve done really well watching Jeopardy! when I’m baked on this one haha.

I kind of wanna say that it’s a super-“clean” or “clear” high, but whenever somebody says that, I always think,“Oh, so you didn’t get baked at all then?” This #2 Chocolate Blitz is for sure very stony. And also very clear. It’s good and interesting weed, for sure.

Seems to have great legs, too. I’m not really high for three hours, but I definitely feel the effects of it for that long, if not longer. The first time I smoked her, which was around 8pm, I started getting ready for bed a couple hours later and was worried that I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep (again, though, that’s not because she’s racy), but I didn’t stay awake any longer than I wanted to.

So, yeah… Really, I dunno haha! I do like this one a lot, though. So far the weed from this grow has worked out pretty well haha. I’ve got the daytime stuff with this Chocolate Blitz #2 and my evening stuff with the Yesca x Jaro #3 plant… I guess it’s time to start getting into the Grapefruits and the Hasphplant D and the other plants now, too haha…

Nice! Definitely looking forward to it. I love the floppy plant pics  always hilarious to look at. I could really use a real nice, unique OG and that yesca x jaro sounds perfect. Pretty stoked now. Great reviews as always :facepunch:t2:

And the Church :yum: still waiting on that church report lol ^^

That choco blitz sounds nice tho! Clean is definitely a trait I like in “sativa’s”. especially a clean come down where it doesn’t feel like you smoked at all when its over. As opposed to feeling groggy or heavy.

Haha, yeah, sorry. I’ve just been getting into all the stuff from my own grow lately, kid in a candy store-style. And then going,”Okay, now you have to settle down with only one of each for a few days so you can write the reports…” I’ll get into the samples that were sent soon enough, but, I mean… Dude… My weed is ready! Haha.

Yeah, this Chocolate Blitz #2 is interesting, for sure. And very good. Even though the smell actually reminds me quite a bit of the Bandaid Hazes, the high really doesn’t at all. The only aspect of it that does is the fact that there’s just no real “rushiness” or “raciness” whatsoever. No heart-pounding shit, no uncomfortableness… The BAH’s I grew were really, really stony and laid-back and fun, whereas this CB #2 is more, like, laser-focused. Still fun, but not as fun as the BAH’s.

I haven’t worked out after smoking it yet, but I bet it’d be reeeealllllyyyy good for lifting weights. Maybe not so good for going on hikes, though, just because it’s such a focused high that I feel like I would be too concerned with getting to the top, as opposed to just enjoying the scenery haha. I think the fact that I could even work out on the CB #2 says it all, though; most weed makes me be like,”Lifting weights? Yeah, fuck that,” haha.
