Compared to most, I’d say you are. It’s why trying to go off someone else’s recommendation on potency is hard If they haven’t had the same flowers and/or quality as you’ve had. Like if the best they ever smoked was cookies, gonna be hard pressed to believe anything they say is good is actually good weed

Not sure. I grew up in the era were you eat drugs first and ask questions later, before the fucking internet. The only person influencing my drug choices was the fucking DARE officer that brought that case of drugs to Health and PE that day in middle school. I cut my teeth on Dead lot eating as many psychedelics as I could get my hands on at the time. I learned by trial and error and watching others. Like a good little monkey should. Ha!

I mean there is some truth to that. Don’t do uppers and downers. Pills and alcohol don’t mix, that much we can agree on. Have I done my fair share of pills while drinking alcohol. Hell yeah! One of my best friends dad was a fucking pharmacist and owned his own pharmacy. It was in the back of my mind to be careful, but I normally ignored that inner voice in the moment. With that said I have lost two very close friends to mixing pills and alcohol.

By your friends logic I guess I shouldn’t have done all that Ketamine, while on LSD, alcohol and weed. Ha! If your partying than whatever, but other drugs can muddle the psychedelic experience. I guess it depends on what your after.

I think psychedelics are slowly becoming mainstream, like cannabis, and the general populace is starting to expand their horizons. No amount of research will prepare you for a 10 gram bucking bronco. The clinical and therapeutic side of psychedelics is the future and in my opinion is very exciting. Psychedelics heal!

I disagree. Psychedelics are being used to treat a number of different things from ptsd to addiction issues. I guess it really does depend on set and setting.

I love you too. That’s why I was like wtf. Im sorry for hitting below the belt. That was wrong of me, and for that I’m sorry.

Onward through the fog…

An oft repeated phrase among my friends is, “We used to experiment with drugs, but now we know what we’re doing!”

lol! I have a few select humor ones:
I used to have a drug problem, but now I can afford it!
I have a drug problem - I keep running out of weed!

Yeah, I actually would call you an expert, for sure. It’s why I’ve started engaging on your thread, asking questions and stuff, just because I look at your posts and see that only four people “liked” them and I’m like,”Why is nobody paying attention to JoeCrowe? THIS is the dude people should be following…” haha.

That’s a great way to put it. And that’s kind of the point I was trying to make (in my own misguided, asshole-ish way haha), where I just feel like Terence McKenna or whoever doesn’t know anything more about psychedelics than I do. So why should I listen to him? Or read his work, I guess, since he’s dead now and doesn’t have a podcast haha…

Haha, for sure.

Right. I never got into pills (unless you count ecstasy as a “pill” haha), but I’ve eaten some; enough to know that I don’t like them at all. One of the last fights I got into, like fifteen years ago, I broke a rib and got some pain pills from the doctor. I ate one and was just like,”Fuck this. I’d rather just not be able to breathe properly for a week or two than feel this way.” Ended up giving the rest of the bottle to my upstairs neighbor.

It’s not my friends’ logic; they know better than to try to discourage me from doing what I wanna do. I was just talking about, like, things I’ve read and stuff. And maybe from listening to those DARE people back in the day, too haha. All’s I know is that they were absolutely wrong.

I can tell you this: do the ketamine on acid haha! I actually don’t like ketamine, but yeah, do it! Haha…

I know. And I know that they really are seeing positive results. But like I said to syzygy, I don’t think they should be being “marketed” in that way, like CBD was, where it’s gonna be this thing that solves all your problems and makes you an awesome person who feels amazing all the time haha.

For people with legit issues, that’s great that it helps them. But there seem to be a lot of people who kind of think,”Oh, I’ll become a better person if I microdose mushrooms on a regular basis,” or,”If I take a heroic dose,” or whatever and really it’s like,”No. You just suck. You’ll always suck. No amount of CBD or shrooms or anything is gonna fix that.”

Don’t worry about it. It’s fine. I really thought we were just talking. I didn’t think you’d take it personally at all.

Moving on…

Rimshot!

Double rimshot!!

I think my methods could be considered “very boring” or something lol! Takes me like 2 years to go from “question asked” to “here’s the answer”. My friends claim people will be digging through the things I said in 10 years when they are looking for answers. Original research based on evidence gathered in a vacuum. I mean take that study I did on flavorless weed. If I wasn’t in a vacuum I’d probably even be fooled into thinking it was some kind of chemical vs organics or an additive to improve the flavor. Instead the conclusion was don’t cut your buds down when they are immature. Like pffft who wants a boring conclusion like that where’s the controversy?!?!?

Haha… Right. “I can’t be outraged over that!!!”

I don’t think it’s boring, I think it’s cool as shit. I mean, I’ve considered buying a microscope (just for my compost teas, really), but I wouldn’t even know what the fuck I’m looking at haha. It’d just be a waste of money.

If nothing else, I feel like you’re asking the right questions and finding the answers in a sorta “provable” way, as opposed to just being like,”Look at all those trichomes!” or whatever haha. If that takes two years or ten years or however long, I’m fine with that. “Process” and all that.

And I know who to tag whenever I think I might be having plant issues, too, so… Bonus! Haha.

Ahhh the good ol days… those little key chain pill cases held a lot of powder :eyes:

Not knowing what you are looking at is part of the fun! I didn’t even know what a THCa crystal looked like until 2 years ago. I got the microscope probably 20 years ago when I started growing weed. There was no plan, except I knew everything to do with weed was at a microscopic level. I performed some in vitro experiments in high school.
Enter the scientific method, philosophy of science and embracing rational thought. When I say you can’t prove a negative their eyes gloss over. I originally did take a million photos of trichomes and say “Look at all those trichomes!” But secretly… each photograph was preparing my mind to enter the cycle of the scientific method. It’s Max Planck style!!

I don’t wanna get ahead of myself, but it’s looking like I ended up with four Cheese/Haze females, @HolyAngel. Here they are:

#2

#3

A couple other plants are doing the same thing as the one pictured above, where it looks like there’s only gonna be three “tops” and a straggler on the other, lower side. I dunno what that’s about, but it’s not something that’s happening with just that one FLC x NL5SS.

#4

#5

So, yeah, feel free to make any observations if you want. Or don’t haha. They were transplanted on Tuesday morning/afternoon/evening (I make a full day out of moving the plants into the flower containers now, no need to rush it haha…), might have something to do with a couple of them sorta “sagging” like that, but I’ve had other plants do the same thing for pretty much the duration of the grow. It’s not something I worry about at all, always chalked it up to genetics.

Anyway, looks like I actually ended up with eleven females from 19 seeds sprouted this round, which, hell yeah. I finally got better than 50/50 F:M! I did iiiiiittttt… haha. I think it’s gonna be four of the Cheese/Haze, four of the Triple Goddess, two of the Wat Phos and one Zap. No offense, Holy, but I was most-interested in the Zap and the Wat Pho, so it kinda sucks that I ended up with only three total females combined (fingers crossed! haha) of those two hybrids, but whatever. I’ll take better than 50/50 every time, no matter what I planted…

Ah, glad I could help your F:M ratio :joy:

Am I seeing early frost on some of those fan leaves? :face_with_monocle:

Still a bit early but just going off leaf morphology here:
#2 Looks like a C5SS(dad) leaner - Double serrations, blade width and pattern
#3 Looks very much just like the FLC #1’s (mom) leaves did
#4 and #5 both look like hybrids to me, with some definite haze traits.
#4’s leaves look pretty close to my most favorite plant I found in that line, the super sativa one with all foxtails.
#5’s leaves look pretty close to the beast of a girl I found the first time I ran them out.

Agreed! I was hoping to see more Zap’s too :joy: but to be fair, I’d bet every one of those Lemon Cheese Haze’s are gonna smoke a bit different from each other. Joy of these types of extended backcrosses; Plenty of jewels to sift through to find the exact high you want. There’s gonna be decent variation between the cheese leaners up to the full on haze leaners. So least won’t be like having to smoke 4 of the same plant. Hope you see that as a good thing :relaxed:

Mm. Maybe. If you’re seeing it, that’s the first I’m aware of it haha, but I don’t really examine the leaves or anything. It’s been pretty dry and windy here lately, could just be dust haha, but I’ll try to remember to take a look the next time I water them, which’ll probably be in three days or so.

That’s the one I’m eyeballing right now. I was thinking possibly some Cheese influence going on there with those fat leaves or maybe some Sensi Star. I’m not a huge fan of SS, but I wouldn’t mind finding something Cheese-leaning, just for novelty’s sake (and also cuz it’d be cool haha). I know nothing about Cheese except what I’ve read over the course of years and years, never blazed it, but I’m gonna start reading up on it.

Oddly, with this particular cross, I’m kind of more interested in finding some Cheese-y stuff, if I wasn’t already clear haha. But I’ll take some Haze leaners, too. Or “50/50’s.” Or hybrids. Or whatever haha!

Thanks again for those seeds, I’m pretty stoked about them!

There’s not really any SensiStar in the line at all bro, so no worries there. Both C5SensiStar F3’s, the #1 male (that made that LCH) and his #5 sister (that I still have) were/are Haze leaners that don’t have any SensiStar in the high at all. Haven’t seen it in their offspring either. Only chance to find anything remotely SensiStar would be in the #4 x #1 F4’s. The #4 was the NL5/SensiStar leaner and most definitely had the high present there, but not the 1 or 5.

#2 and #5 will likely be the one’s with the most cheese influence. The cheese leaners were actually my least favorite out of this line  but you do you bro ^^ I love Cheese, but it can also get old real fast. And then some time goes by and you crave it again  The Cheese leaners in this cross are pretty damn nice though. BIG yielders too. Cheese gets wide and viney/spidery, not very tall. The SLH and C5 leaners will be christmas trees.

And anytime on the beans! Thank you for giving them a run
I hope you find some plants in there you like as much as I have :relaxed:

I can’t wait to see your grow on these the most. They are all great choices though. I almost grabbed the Triple Goddess at the last restock at GLG, but I went a different route. Both Snow lotus crosses I grew I liked a lot, Cherry Lotus and Sky Lotus. I actually finished my last nug of my April harvest of a Cherry Lotus last night.

congrats haha!

Extremely bright, funny, knowledgeable, well-documented thread. Thank you all for the info, all of you. I came here to read about Yesca y Jaro, and stayed for the rest, lolz. Peace

Oh yeah, I’m not worried about it. I loved Bodhi’s Malawi Gold x SS, so even if some sorta recessive genetics show up in those FLC hybrids, I probably won’t be too mad haha. It’s just the straight Sensi Star that I wasn’t ever a big fan of.

I know that type. In any event, if I find a Cheese leaner (lemon cheesecake??? Maybe??? Haha), it’s not like that’s the only thing I’m growing, so even if it does get old fast, I’ll have options.

I was a little ambivalent about that Snow Lotus male until I grew four Uplifts. That was great weed. So now I’m back on board! Haha.

Not grabbing a pack or two of the Sky Lotus is one of my biggest “seed regrets.” I have no idea why I never bought any; those packs were available for YEARS before seeds became a commodity. I used to see them just sitting there on seed bank websites all the time, coulda grabbed some at my leisure, pretty annoyed with myself that I skipped those.

Thanks, dude! I dunno about the “extremely bright” part, though haha.

Did you plant some of those Yesca x Jaro seeds? Or you have them in the fridge? I really like the two plants I ended up with (still have way more seeds to go through at some point). The #3 plant in this log is great for getting ready for bed, keeps me thoughtful and happy while I’m showering and stuff and then eases me into a great night’s sleep.

The #5 is so weird (in a good way). She’s not very strong, but there’s just something about her that I really dig. Very satisfying smoke. I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly, but yeah, I dig that #5 plant. And both are suuuuuper-tasty, too, if that’s important to you haha.

Anyway, glad you liked the log.

I have some Sky Lotus “F2s” I made, but I haven’t tested any yet, so they could be shite. I say “F2” because it was only 1 male and 1 female. After I run several, I can send some out if like what you see in my grow and it’s still something you want haha.

I’d feel terrible giving out seeds that weren’t stable. The female I used was excellent though.

I have a feeling there are probably some more diverse F2s out there in the universe.

Nah, it’s okay, I’m good on seeds. Thanks, though. You should grow them! Haha.

I’m laughing because elgallo said a while back that that’s my stock response to anybody’s offer to hook me up with seeds. Which it is.

I think a lot of us who are growing plants and have a lot of seeds have the issue of too many options - not enough space / time. That said, I can donate some Redeye Jedi seeds if you want some.
