Last winter I built up my garden bed with lots of organic matter that included chicken shit and wood ashes. Also pelletized limestone. This spring I began to see signs that the bed was probably still hot from the chicken shit but I put my plants in anyway because that was my only option. The plants are surviving but are showing signs of stress compounded by the very dry period that we are in at this time. However, the “Andhra Gold” plant is taking it like a champ.

Thank you brother @globalhead !

Looking great :+1:t4:… I got offered chicken shit manure but was told it’s very hot.
Do you not hand water at all?
Has the Andhra Gold been surviving only on what she pulls from the ground?

I’m always afraid that your cows will get to your plants but it seems you have put in a lot of work to take care of that.

Great to see these landraces doing well so far from home.

I only hand water if the plants are wilted and in very bad shape. I work the farm from sunrise to sunset and my pot plants have to be a secondary consideration. In my world only the strong survive. I always put out more plants than I need just to be on the safe side. Also, my community is very hostile to marijuana so I need to keep plants small and camouflaged just to remain invisible. I’m sure that plant would have been 12 feet tall and just as big around if it had been taken care of properly.

Big changes happening fast here and there is no going back at this point. That is how life works. You can not stop change.
:flushed:
On a lighter note… Let’s revisit the forming of the band Deep Purple.
:face_with_monocle:
Here is how they say it all began.

Just a little update to show that I’m still here.
Life has been kicking my ass lately but it has to change at some point.
:grimacing:
The drought here is really bad ! Last week I yanked all my plants out of the ground to save them from dying. Now, one week later they are doing fine.

Some were obviously never going to finish before winter arrived. So it was the best thing to do.
:grin::+1:
They have been placed in a south facing window inside and will get plenty of direct sunlight this fall. I can keep plants alive until Christmas with this set-up. Hopefully my life will return to normal soon.
