I don’t use bone meal, or any organics, for that matter.
@api312 some of the same fertilizers used in the 90’s are used now lol that just doesn’t add up…at all. GH and Dyna Gro are older than that. What was present or not present in fertilizers “pre-99”?
Bone meal is an old fertilizer…it certainly predates 1990. Plants really don’t care where or how they get the elements they need, as long as they get them.
Hard disagree. This completely ignores the significance of the secondary metabolites that exists in living soil. That said, I don’t think we need to get into a salts vs whatever argument here so ima bow out
Definitely not. But, I’m sure we can both agree grow techniques have changed in the last 35 years.
My point wasn’t a single specific technique to “get skunk terps” but more that, just pointing out that expecting plants to present themselves the same way regardless of environment is silly and perhaps people should look at the older styles of feeding, lighting and growing in concert with older skunk genetics in order to pull some of these terps out of the plant instead of expecting a plant to grow, smell and present the same way under all conditions.
Heck, I imagine your weed would turn out different if you grew it that way than if you ran coots mix living soil with LEDs or hydro + hps. Otherwise everyone would just use CFL’s and miracle grow
Not trying to sell some “magic skunk grow environment” just pointing out that terps are more than just the genetics.
I’ve gotten Golden Goat from 10 different places and it always smells the same. Lemon G always smells like Lemon G. Black and white market. And what I grew.
Iunno man, if there is any difference at all, it’s so minor as to not be noticeable.
Interesting. I notice pretty massive differences in smells, tastes, effects etc etc based on grow conditions. Just my experience though. Maybe I’m crazy!
Coffee and cocoa are both known to be high in sulfur.
“The basis of coffee aroma is sulfurous compounds. These include strong smelling mercaptans (skunk smell is an example) or onion, garlic, and even sweet, honey-like aromas. All sulfur compounds are highly susceptible to oxidation in the presence of oxygen. Some of these compounds, those that have toast, bread, or roasted-meat aromas, are relatively stable, but others change quite rapidly.”
Now for the crazy theories
You may be right! Well, according to this theory at least…
The idea is with everything we now know about weed and the quest for higher terpenes this and that. Maybe we crossed a threshold where skunk smells aren’t skunky due to higher levels of whatever makes it stink.
lol I am not wasting my precious garden space on mystery “totally legit skunk” autos anyway my boy.
If you really wanna get serious and show the world what you allegedly have send those couple grams to @ShiskaberrySavior tomorrow and we’ll know inside 2 weeks what’s what.
Bro am I supposed to drop what I’m doing, tell my family to fuck off, and catch a flight to wherever it is you live, check into a hotel, rent a car, come to your house, smell a bud, leave, and fly back? I wouldn’t drive more than a half hour to prove this point lol.
Anyway bro, You fuxked it up for everyone. When I wanted to help. Now im just gonna kick back and continue to read to multiple skunk post. And when guys are ready hit me up pm like a grown man. I don’t fuxk with kids
