Dry tents are getting smelly

i have a couple tents i use to dry. a 2x2x4 and a 1.5x3x3. I also use the 1.5x3 to germ/seedling. now they are getting a mildew smell at the top.

is there a way to fix this?
maybe, uvb/a left on for a few days?
maybe bleach?
mabye get a new tent?

or, how do I prevent this?
the cure process seems to bring a mildew for some reason.
i got it on some of the buds i dried…not too many, but i swear i smell it slight in a couple of my jars.

Bleach/hydrogen peroxide sprays FTW
The seams and tufted edges etc I’d soak em let ‘em dry out real good afterwards via dehu and fans galore! Get that rh down way low for a few days after spraying and you’ll be golden. There’s specific microbe/mold killers too which would work even better I’m sure.

What is the humidity? Should be below 55 % to start to be safe. Inspect those buds inside and cull the whole jar if needed, no need to take risks, this happened to me …

no bud rot. it’s not that. had it before long term storing some bud that got too warm in a closet.

it’s a sour smell. a mildew, not normal mold. my bud is good. this one strain has the sour smell…i might just toss it. i’lll run some bleach and peroxide on the tents and see if that helps.

Perhaps putting an Ozone generator in the tent for a day or two?

Keep the tent closed, you don’t want to be breathing ozone but it definitely ‘clean up’ the tent.

would uvb do it? or do i need c?

I think it is UVC (250nm) for generating ozone. The generators are either light or electric discharge.
My son used one to help a friend ‘clean up’ a car that was driven by a heavy smoker (it was bad…).

i’ve seen them on pools. perhaps setting up one in a shed or something might be safe.
thanks. hopefully amazon has me covered.
