Dry / wilted / floppy seedling

Overlooked one cube in my tray for watering;
came home to it in a lateral position.

I soaked the cube and placed upside down carefully to let gravity hold in place (much easier) and within a few hours the stem bulked up and came back to life.

We are good to go as long as I don’t do anything else dumb along the way~

Those cubes hold water very well.
Be careful how much water you provide.

A drop of water on the skin holding the leaves closed will loosen it up. You can carefully remove if it needs help.

Cube was bone dry.
Taking on one problem at a time :muscle: ~

Agree, just hold the stem with your fingers and pull up the membrane with some tweezer … :sweat:

Beat of luck.

Sometimes the membranes get stuck and you gotta pull them off, if the plant wants to live it will and will survive just fine !

Like has been said, give it a bit of water and pull that membrane off. If you wet the membrane it will come off super easy. Done it many times, just be gentle and you won’t have any issues.

Yeah, I spritz stuff like that and helmet heads with my spray bottle. Then let it soak in a few minutes, spray again, then operate.
Most of the time I manage to be gentle with my fat fingers, but sometimes I will use tools such as toothpicks or tweezers.
I think you’ll be fine Beau.

Yeah, me too except the fingers thing. I can’t use my fingers, these sausages are not built for it. I do it under a magnifying light attached to my desk and use a toothpick, small knife or tweezers. I would think most have their own way and we all know the best way. The one that works for you, lol. :v:

Yeah a cocktail stick between the cotyledons will help steady the sprout so you dont pull it out.

Thanks for all the posting regarding its membrane;

no water > rock wool cube > extremely dry
Is what almost killed this one.

Just showing how gravity helped me resolve my issue.

Membrane off just now with surgical tools.

Did anyone notice? ^
