Ty ty. Definitely a lot of great genetics by myriad breeders floating around judging by my early experience with growing. Makes me wonder why I bought so much meh weed. It’s really not that freaking hard to grow :joy:

Nice growth in last 24 hours on the babies.

How are you liking the dirt bags?
I’m not completely sold on them and don’t think I’ll be using them again.

So far so good. This is my first go with small container start of any sort so nothing to compare with really for me. They aren’t drying out too fast, growing fine, holding up okay. What didn’t you like?

Edit: I guess they are annoying in that they don’t stand up on their own, but I found a solution to that easily enough

and it is…? the upside down lid? Thanks. Interested in the subject too.

Yeah just some cheap container from the kitchen. Flimsy foil bottom like a turkey pan and clear lid. Both hold six for transport and stability.

@Eagles009 i have a question on the radicle bags looks like you have the no velcro versin of 1 gallon bags, are they easy to get the plant out when you xplant?

And you have nice colored healthy looking plants!

Thanks! No radicle bags here though. Just regular fabric pots.

They are easy to transplant from though. I just wait long enough so I know it’ll be a nice solid mass, flip upside down, pinch the bottom and shake a bit, with the dirt resting on my palm and the plant between my fingers.

Honestly, they appear root bound to me and the roots appear to struggle getting through the bags :man_shrugging:

Hmm I did think about that as a potential issue. In my hypothetical I saw myself cutting the bags off. I have never dealt with a root bound plant so am not trying to call you wrong or anything but have you seen the solo cup challenge plants over there? I wouldn’t think you could get root bound so quick…

If you think they’re having trouble getting through the fabric I’d turn em upside down, get the fabric out and set right back up. Is there a possibility your giving them too much water /nutrients ?

Day five, crazy good growth this early in my experience. I’m  it’s the regs vs feminized factor I hear about. These are my first regs.

I find seedlings are good for about 3 weeks in a solo cup before they need either feeding or up potting with the soil I make up.

As soon as I see the first set of single leafs start to go a bit yellow I know they need some food or more soil but that’s usually when they are hitting their 4th or 5th node, so long as they are not being over watered or ph is out of whack.

Good to know this is unchartered territory for me. I’m hoping they stay in the bags long enough to sex the males. I doubt it, but I’m gonna push it til they bust out of the bags.

I find I have to go up to my 1.25 liter pots before they get old enough to sex, but that’s mainly because it’s easier than adding food and watering everyday when they get to that size.

They should not get root bound in a fabric pot really, the roots will come through the sides and burn off. You might find them coming through the bottom where it’s dark though. If I leave my 10 gal pots outside the plants will grow roots through the pot into the ground.
